Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Secondary Cooling System Leak / Dripping From Center Of Engine Bay

Oct 30, 2014

Turns out I've lost nearly all of the coolant from my secondary cooling system and am trying to diagnose the problem.

Things I noticed:

-All of the hoses appear to be in good condition.
-Coolant is dripping from the center of the engine bay.
-After inspecting the turbo area, it appears the valley below the turbo is wet.

The intake manifold is still on the truck, so I haven't been able to get a better look. Is there anything else near the area I am describing that has coolant? My guess is the turbo water inlet?

Perhaps this : Coolant leak on the 6.7 Powerstroke diesel - YouTube...

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Small Leak On Upper Secondary Fuel Filter

(E350 van)... I smelled diesel fuel inside the van tonight and used my flashlight to investigate the leak. The cover around the blue spring is damp.

Before I remove every again to gain access to the filter housing to fix the leak, what I am may encounter. Seems like a good time to do the blue spring upgrade. Can I access the egr valve to inspect and clean?

What are the possible areas to check for the leak? Sometimes finding little problems leads to finding big problems. When my FICM went out I discovered the battery terminal clamp was broke.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2005 F250 - Leak Appears To Be Coming From Secondary Fuel Filter Housing

I've got a leak that appears to be coming from the secondary fuel filter housing (the one in the engine compartment)... It's not coming from the filter, but from the side, where there are 4 allen bolts that attach a fitting to the side of the housing...Can I change out the gasket for that piece? I've already tightened the bolts, but the leak persists.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Coolant Dripping Under Degas Bottle / Boot Oil Leak

I have coolant leaking from under my degas bottle. There was a spot on the driveway this morning and upon investigation, I saw a drip hanging from the bottom of the degas. No liquid on top at all. Where this is coming from? Bottom hose?

Also, the boot that connects the tube (right side while looking at front of truck) to the elbow that goes into the intake is leaking oil and making a mess. Whats the best way to fix? Remove boot, clean up, and put back on? Or replace boot? If replace, where can I get that boot?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Transmission Leak - Fluid Dripping On The Bottom Of Both Sides Of Intercooler

I've been having transmission fluid leak from my truck for a while now. Very slow leak. At first I thought it was a hard line and replaced it but it was still leaking. Then I think I found where it was coming from. It looks to be fluid dripping on the bottom of both sides of my intercooler? On both identical spots. I am guessing perhaps I had a crack on my transmission oil cooler and driving blew it into the fins of my intercooler. I took my old one off and couldn't visibly see one. I have a brand new trans cooler installed now. Haven't drove yet as I am waiting on brake parts? I couldn't think of anything else on why it would leak off the intercooler?

Took the torque converter cover off and this is what I see. Before I took it off the cover looked oily. Prev I replaced the EGR valve and some other sensors and there was oil on top of the engine. Does this look like a rear main seal or oil dripping from the top of the engine?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Oil Leak / Dripping At The Back And Bottom Of HPOP

Have another oil leak, just finished the pan flange gasket last weekend, made it 150 miles, now a new leak.

Took the spider out and everything on top, cleaned the valley up good, the fired the truck. HPO lines are good, but have a drip off the back and bottom of the HPOP, when I reach under it from the back, its right below the large 2 inch circle.

What this might be? was thinking possible orings somewhere under there where it seats, but its been 6 years since I replaced all the orings, don't remember exact layouts.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Oil Leaking / Dripping At The Trans

Last night I noticed oil on my driveway. I got up under my truck and it was dripping at the trans. I'm not sure that's where it's actually leaking from because the other side of the oil pan had clean oil on the outside of it. What this could be?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2005 F250 - Message Center In Gauge Cluster Only Show Mileage And Engine Hours

2005 6.0L F250 Lariat. I picked up a couple weeks ago. The message center in the gauge cluster will only show my mileage (kilometres) and engine hours but nothing else.

Also the three buttons/controls to the right of the steering column don't do anything. I checked the wiring behind the dash and it's all plugged in... The other problem is the SRS light will flash on and off while driving.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Coolant Leak / Dripping Down Onto Passenger Side Front Leaf Spring

2003 F250 7.3... I noticed a water leak dripping down onto passenger side front leaf spring. I saw this before but attributed it to the AC (which kicks butt) but haven't used the AC. No scent to the clear fluid, temps all look good. Running fine. Where does the AC discharge go? Could AC be on (not on AC but set in blue zone on dial)? Reservoir looks ok but could e small volume of drips.

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Oil Leak Somewhere On Right Side Of Engine

I just had my 14 350 dually in for its 10k mile service. They told me I had a oil leak somewhere on right side of my engine. They cleaned it and put some die in it, told me drive and bring back so they can put uv light on it to see where it's coming from. I haven't had time to take back yet as I just started a new job, but I've put about 900 miles on it and it's definitely got a leak! I crawled underneath today and the oil pan right beside the oil filter is wet with oil. Trying to figure out what I might be looking at.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: How To Burp The Cooling System

I just installed a new water pump and thermostat on my truck, and now hardly any heat? I let the truck run for almost an hour without the radiator cap on. And I added coolant back up to the full level. I took it for an almost 100 mile ride and the temp level hardly even moved off of cold? And it is hardley even blowing warm air with the heater on hi.

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Fuel Leak / Dripping At Side Of Starter And Collecting At Low Point Of Metal Lines Down Below

I've got a late 99 7.3 truck that I just recently did a lot of work on. I installed a new turbo with bellowed up pipes and a new exhaust system and when I went to start it up it started leaking fuel in the back pretty badly. Initially I thought it was the banjo bolt or the passenger fuel line but looking at it more closely I realized that it's not coming from there. It's dripping all over the side of the starter and is collecting at the low point of the metal lines down below. I also saw small droplets coming out of the up pipe where it meets the manifold but it looked like nowhere near enough to produce the kind of leak I'm seeing, also I know fuel shouldn't be coming out of the up pipe to begin with. This is really annoying and I would like to drive my truck again.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Engine Stalling Related To Oil Leak

My 6.0 excursion has been stalling at stops, and in slow traffic for the past couple weeks. I've also had an oil leak (see my most recent post w pics)

Could those two things be related? The compression gauge shows its okay, What else could be causing the stalling? I just got a lead on a good diesel mechanic in springfield missouri (30 ) minutes from where i was today with the excursion, I don't know if i should risk a 2 hour drive back to springfield to take it to him.

I had the oil changed at a local shop last week and the tech told me the oil pan was leaking oil, but you can see on the pics I posted that that oil seems to be on hoses above the oil pan. So I don't know if the leak is coming from above or what.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2007 F350 - Oil Leak From Top Of Engine

My 2007 F350 CC DRW KR has developed a serious oil leak recently. The oil runs down both sides of the bell housing but seems to be worse on the passengers side. It only leaks after five or so minutes of running and not while off. I have searched literally hundreds of threads and found only one that seemed similar and the resolution was never posted.

The truck is stock with only a turbo back 4" exhaust. I initially thought of the STC fitting failing and cracking the rear engine cover, but I still have very good ICP (650 almost immediately when cranking and at idle, 3000+ when on the throttle).

I plan to pull the turbo next weekend to check the drain tube and HPOP cover as well as checking/replacing the STC fitting (since I'm in there).

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Oil Leak At Lower Front Of The Engine

Was replacing my cracked and leaking charge air cooler pipe Friday evening and noticed oil all over the place at the lower front of the engine. It has been a few months since I've been under the truck. No drips on the ground so it must be a slow leak while driving. Oil level is fine so it hasn't been leaking for long.

Any ideas from this limited two picture view? Front main seal? I've been reading the vacuum pump leaks oil as well but I'm not sure where that is other than driven by the HPFP. I took additional pictures but those were useless, it's a bit cramped in this area.

In the past ten months I've had the turbo coolant inlet pipe leak repaired and then the DEF heater failed, which means replacing the entire pump of course. The wastegate solenoid air compressor noise started some time ago as well at shutdown but I haven't been concerned about that (it doesn't seem to cause an issue). 96,000 miles.
