Puppy chewed them up. Puppy has grown so I know it's time to replace them however they are discontinued. Some grey ones are available but I'd like to stick with OE colors if possible. Any leads, prefer new if possible

Purchased with a broken latch assembly the drivers side middle row...promptly replaced for $70. Today, it is broke again, less than a year. I am going to do some more investigating as to HOW this happened TWICE.
Chipped, broken housing on their middle latch assembly? It breaks the black part first, which holds the guts in alignment....once the black part slips down or up to far...the guts do not function.
The driver's seatbelt no longer retracts. I took it to my dealer and they want $585 to replace it. I can pick up a used one for $65. If I can figure out how to get the door pillar trim off can I replace this seatbelt or is it incorporated into the airbag system and requires special munitions skills?

View 10 RepliesI love my Ex and I love my dobermann, but the two did not mix one day. In a matter of seconds, he almost chewed completely thru the driver's seat belt. Guess he thought I was taking too long to get out. It's basically hanging on by a quarter inch of fabric and seriously needs replacing.
I figure it can't be that hard to replace myself, but I cannot see how to remove the molding/housing that hides the mechanics of it all. I've been searching for videos, but none of them are for the Ex. :
How I can remove the housing and change the belt myself. Looking for a video or pictures.....
I just purchased a 2004 Excursion and I want to disable the seat belt alarm.The truck didn't come with an owners manual so I got the manual from my 2005 and followed the instructions but it wouldn't disable the alarm. It worked fine on the 2005. Need instructions for a 2004?

View 9 RepliesI recently bought a 2003 Ford Ranger. What I want to do is unhook the seat belt chime. In the past with the other 3 Rangers I owned I unplugged it from under the seat. But when I unplugged this one the light for the air bag stayed on. I like the freedom to choose and I don't care for the chime.

View 1 RepliesI have 130K miles on my Santa Fe. I just replaced the timing belt without the water pump being replaced. Picked it up from the mechanic and the check engine light was on and it was idling very rough. Left it there for him to recheck. He said maybe he didn't plug in the Cam Sensor all the way or at all. Next day he called me and said that the cam sensor was bad and he replaced it for free. Picked up the vehicle and the idle was a little rough but got worse on the ride home.

My husband replaced it and everything seems to fit right and it closes down and it looks nice. Problem is now the interior lights wont shut off at all.
Running board lights are on as well. We have had to un-hook the battery to keep it from running down. Is there a sensor or something that needs to be reset?
So I was trying to track down this squeak noise and I removed the drivers side seat belt but now the belt will not retract? It's stuck like this, is there a manual release? Buying another one is not a option right now. And I have to drive the car tomorrow morning.

View 4 RepliesI looked through the MKIV DIY stuff but didn't see one. My serp belt is in need of replacing soon. Seeing some cracking on it for sure. According to records from the PO it was bought as part of the timing belt kit at the end of '09 so I imagine it was changed then...just didn't think it would be so cracked so fast!
Anyway, looking to replace it in the coming weeks. If I could be pointed in the right direction that would be awesome. I do have a Bentley, but I find how-to's on here to often be better. But if I need to just follow the Bentley, I can do that too.

Can disable seat belt ringer? Today I got in my truck put it in reverse and sat for a moment and the damn ringer came on for the belt then drove down the drive way and it came on again. There was no need for the belt seeing that I was just moving trailers around the yard. I had a few Rangers and a Bronco that I was just able to reach down and pull the ringer out but I also had a Ranger that had the speaker build on to a circuit board I ended up putting bondo in that one made it real quite.

I do wear my seat belt but I can't even get out of my driveway before it goes off, also if I drive one block to the store and don't feel like putting it on. I have tried the disabling procedure in the owners manual many times and it does not work. I have also tried other procedures posted on the internet and they didn't work either. If the alarm wasn't for other things like keys left in ignition, etc I would have cut the wires by now.
View 14 RepliesMy 1990 Acura Integra is on her 4th timing belt...still going strong after 25 years! Long ago, I was told by the people who worked on my car that it was best to replace the Timing Belt every 60K. My Manual says inspect at 60K but replace at 90K.I typically have changed it at around 65K....and now it is a bit beyond the 65K mark for this timing belt ( also do the water pump, etc) as the car is now at 262,327 miles.I am tempted to wait a bit longer, as it is not even close to the 90K mark.

I need to have the timing belt replaced and am wondering if I should have the water pump and/or other parts replaced during this repair? Economic prudence is of the essence.
