Ford Excursion :: Rear HVAC Seems To Only Blow One Temperature

May 30, 2016

Picked up a 2001 Excursion a few weeks ago. Trying to sort out some of its issues. The rear HVAC seems to only blow one temperature... Luke warm. Front A/C and heat work fine. I checked the temp blend actuator and it seems to work fine. The rear expansion valve gets cold and there is condensation that drips from the rear. What else I can check?

Ford Excursion :: How To Blow Out Rear Heater Lines

I'm 1/2 way through a flush and water pump replacement. Its going to get cold and I don't want to blow any heater lines. I have the pump off and the block drained (I also managed to get some coolant into the block - but not the rear heat).

I don't see an easy place at the front to disconnect the lines. I'd like to blow them out just to be safe. What is the best place to disco in the front or if I even need to - can I just disco 1 in the rear and then blow in both direction?

I fear that there may be some vent door closed that will prevent flow. I can't start the truck - I can turn the key on.

Ford Excursion :: 2002 F250 - Rear Tire Goes Out Sidewall Blow

So rolling down I29 and its cold and the wind is howling. Rear tire goes out sidewall blow. Thinking load rating of C is not enough for the EX?

Anyways not a big deal cause I'm smart! I checked my spare and all the stuff I need to change it cause i'm prepared. Go to put the tire iron on that I removed from under the hood perfect fit too. Guess what, it is way to small for the lugs. Luckily I had earned some karma points the day before working for a guy with a 02 F250 7.3 who's alternator died. A guy in a suburban stopped and his wrench was close enough to crack the nuts.

So after searching and not finding much my two questions are. Any replacement for the factory tire iron that bolts under the hood? Is there another vehicle other then an Ex I can take it from? I like the idea of it being there bolted down under the hood.

What load rating is everyone running and or recommends. I noticed my spare was an F lol which is far from C. My EX is 7.3 and She was loaded heavy with black friday goods.

Ford Excursion :: HVAC Blower Won't Turn Off

I'm new and have recently bought my first X. its a 2001 XLT with the 5.4. I really couldn't pass it up with the guy asking under 7K with 104,000 miles and not a rust bucket.

I discovered last night that my blower (at least front) continues to blow when key is out and off. I have played with the key to think its a switch but am not sure. Here's the other part, If I turn the selector to off before shutting the truck off it stays off BUT if i turn it on it will not go back off and stays on....

Ford Excursion :: HVAC - Air Doesn't Divert To Any Specific Vents At Front

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion v10 that won't divert air through any vent. Blower motor works through all speeds from low to high. I hear air being pushed around but doesn't go to any specific vent (barely comes out defrost and front vents though). Temperature Blend door and actuator for door work fine. Vacuum tested and no leaks. Opened up the glove box to expose heater core, noticed the vacuum actuated rod that sits to the left of the heater core is sloppy and barely moves up and down when controls are changed. I believe there is another vacuum actuator in the dash somewhere closer to the driver's side that may pose as a fault as well.

Passat (B5) :: Temperature Suddenly Dropped, But Air Continued To Blow

It's been quite a while since I was here - which shows that my Passat has been pretty reliable recently. But now I have a problem. WHen I was driving home about a week ago, I saw the temperature suddenly drop all the way to the stop. I put on the heater, and the air continued to come out at regular temperature, so the problem was in the reading/display. I have a Scangauge, which I connected, and it showed the correct temperature (around 190), confirming a problem with the display.

I contacted the dealer, who first insisted that it must be the thermostat (then why do I get a reading of 190 with the Scan Gauge and why is the heater still hot). When I disagreed, they said it must be the sensor. When I pointed out that the Scan Gauge correctly shows the rise in temperature for cold and then show the temperature maintained at between about 185 and 195) , then they said it must be the gauge, which requires a new instrument cluster.

I went to a another service place I've used (not a dealer) and they insist that it must be the sensor, based on past experience. For this to be true, the engine must have different temperature sensors for the instrument cluster display than it does for the computer.

Prius (2010-12) :: Heater Blow The Constant Temperature Of Air

I have a 2013 Prius 4. I'm not sure if there is a problem or not but the heater just seems to blow the same temperature of air no matter how high I set the temperature. The air feels lukewarm. I was driving 60 miles yesterday with the temperature set at 76. I had on a long sleeve shirt and polar fleece jacket and it never got to where I was really warm. Outside temp was about 50.

Caravan/Voyager :: 2002 - No Matter The Temperature Setting AC Blow Very Hot Air

Got a 2002 Grand Voyager (as we name it in Europe), 3,3 AWD, with AC/Heating problems.

No matter the temperature setting, from 15C to 29, it will blow with same very hot air. AC working when setting the temp to LO.

Going from LO to 15 deg C, you'll hear a "clunk", as if a door closes, and the warm air will start to flow through the vents.

Tried all the calibration possibilities known to me (ON+Recirc), and it will end with no faults, but to no good effect on the problem.

What the "ON+AC" mode does? Been in that mode - but do not know what it does, or if I'm supposed to do anything.

I haven't got a clue, other than the "thump" I hear when, possibly, the blend door closes, might be a problem, since I would expect the blend to be more gradually invoked.

Ford Excursion :: A/C Seems To Only Blow Out The Front Windshield Defroster

I'm having with my Ex. When I have the A/C (or heat) on, it seems to only blow out the front windshield defroster. Once in a while it'll blow out where it should, but 99% of the time it only comes out the defrost. This is when I have it on face, face/feet and feet.

Ford Excursion :: Heater Blow Hot For Few Minutes Then Started Blowing Cold

Here's what I have. 02 X 7.3L 4x4.

Heater will work fine. Then out of nowhere just blow cold. I can turn it off then back on it'll blow hot for 1 minute or 20 minutes. Then out of nowhere blow cold again. It doesn't matter if I'm highway driving or city driving.

I'm kinda thinking it may be the door in the duct that's just closing. I real don't know.

Ford Excursion :: No Power At Working Temperature

I'm having a problem with my 6.0, My wife to ok my daughter, 16 months now, down to Seattle the other day for a nontraditional physical therapy that we've been trying; she went to leave and when the truck came up to temperature there was no power. By no power, I mean NO POWER. We had the Ex towed home, 50 or so miles, I was on an island at the time. I am looking at starting in on it tomorrow and can't find any similar problems using the search function on here. I starts fine, hot or cold. When hot it idles crazy rough and will not even pull up our drive way because there is no power, it does it when cold. Our drive way is barely the length of the Ex. When my wife read me the stats over the phone nothing seemed out of the ordinary from what I could tell.

Ford Excursion :: Engine Suddenly Quit / Temperature And Oil Light Came On

I was going up a little grade a couple days ago and the engine suddenly quit, the temperature and oil light came on, the heat gauge buried on hot, and it threw a code. I pulled over and it was still idling so I made a U-turn but it was in limp mode and would only go about 10 MPH, so I made it home and put water in it so it's good now but it still says service engine soon. What is the code going to say and am going to have to pay to get rid of it. (the light). I have a new cap coming.

Ford Excursion :: Code P0125 - CHT Sensor Recording Too Low Of Operating Temperature

I have received a code twice during really cold weather and I think it is P0125. This says that the cylinder head temp. sensor is recording too low of operating temperature. The question is two fold. What happens if you do not change it? Second I have read that you have to remove the whole intake manifold to replace it. Any easier way to replace it than removing the whole intake manifold? I have looked for the darn thing and can not even see where it is located.

My defrost & front vents work fine. My back vents that are in the back of the console switch from hot to cold like it suppose to, but they do not blow out enough to feel it in the back seat or third row seat.

Also when I use the heat the front flat part of the console by the drink holders especially gets red hot to the point it can melt plastic ink pen or anything else you lay there. which concerns me since I have a 9 yr old.

Ford - Fivehundred :: 2005 - AC Will Blow Cold When Running Fast And Then Blow Hot

I'm at the end of my rope! My 2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited has a constant problem with the A/C system and overheating. In the last year I've replaced the compress, expansion valve, dryer FOUR times. They have replaced the condenser, blower motor, and added Freon, and checked for leaks. It will blow cold when running fast and then blow hot. They have replaced belts pulleys, They have replaced the thermostat, fans, coolant reservoir, hoses. and it still overheats. I've taken it to 4 difference mechanics including two dealerships. No one can seem to fix this problem.
