2006 F150, FX4, 5.4, super crew. Had the infamous airbag code 42 flashing at me the other day, replaced the sensor in the front of the radiator support, and am still getting the same code. The old senser had some corrosion inside the sensor itself, but the connections were clean on both the sensor and the pigtail. Is there something I may have missed?

View 4 Replies2004 f150 - Airbag light was flashing. Received recall letter. Dealer replaced a wiring harness. Dealer did not confirm functionality of airbag prior to leaving shop. Light continues to flash. New diagnostics from dealer says error code 1885 - the control restraint module needs replacing in P&L. Does the code match the fix? Can a novice mechanic replace the module?

About a month ago I started occasionally getting the 5 beeps 5 times, and now it does it more frequently but not every time. The Passenger Airbag Light above the radio works properly. It comes on when I start the truck and then goes off. When I put weight on the seat (usually my Jack Russell who only weighs 14lbs) it turns on and stays, and if the seat belt is buckled with no weight it also stays on. This is proper function correct ?
I've tried things I've read from replacing or cleaning up the crash sensor in front of the radiator, even cleaned the connections under the seats with contact cleaner, pulled fuses and none of them are blown. Are the code 51 and the beeping alarm somehow connected ?
The airbag light on my 1995 Ford Ranger is flashing a code 41 (four flashes, pause, then one flash...does this a few times when I start the engine, then goes to a solid light which stays on while I drive.) It has been doing this for several months, and to be perfectly honest, this has not been a concern for me but now that my state inspection is coming up in December, I need to do something about it. Just before I noticed it to begin with, I had a major repair done--the dreaded heater core replacement--which involved removal of the dashboard. I never associated the flashing with that repair and the possibility that the repair shop might have inadvertently neglected to reattach something when reassembling the dashboard and now so much time has passed, that I can't just go back to the repair shop.

From what I read it is a short someplace. Where are the crash sensors and how do you check them for "shorts"? I don't understand much about the whole system.

View 13 RepliesI have a 2008 Hyundai Accent that is giving me one heck of a headache. I keep getting a code for number 1 cylinder misfire. When you start it up it runs fine for a while then the CEL will flash and it will start running rough. As soon as I shut it off and restart it, it runs fine. I even experimented with it this morning on the way to work. It started running rough doing 60, I put it in neutral, turned the car off and then right back on, put it back in gear. It ran fine the rest of the way to work. I have swapped coil packs, fuel injectors, spark plugs, and have even hang tested another ECM. Still number 1 cylinder misfire.
View 8 RepliesI've been trying to trace down a issue with the airbag warning light flashing. The seatbelt light is flashing also. The airbag code is 53. If i search it i get the front crash sensor..I replaced it with a new sensor and pigtail. Other than that the search leads me to believe it could be anything.
I've checked and clean every connection that i could find. I haven't removed the center console yet to check the module. I did buy the truck last fall as a winter/work truck. The issue started a couple of months after i started driving it. Not sure if the module would just go bad.
2006 F150 Triton 5.4 Motor... It's been over a months journey with fixing this truck....
How it started: had an oil change, a while back, on long drive after, check engine light started flashing as I accelerated up hill so I pulled over and in a while it was ok, but couldn't get on the gas too much, or it would cause that flashy light thing.
So fast forward to now, after driving it with an intermittent miss for a while, was driving it to work and the miss became a shudder, and she stopped going over 30-40, and runs extremely rough.
Steady but loud idle.
Replaced all plugs with motocraft plugs and new coils all around. No change.
Finally hooked it up to a computer and got random misfires, now it's saying
P0174 bank 2 too lean,
But it's bank ONE that's the only side misfiring.

I had been having battery issues with my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter for the longest time, thought i had a short under dash, i pulled entire dash out, disconnecting bat first of course, and inspected all wiring harness connections and fixing my issues and putting it all back together. now with new bat and all put back together i am now getting the airbag light flashing 5 times then 2 times (error code 52) i know it has some thing to do with power failure or backup battery, but now with the new battery in i cant seem to get it to reset. How to do this?
View 3 RepliesThis started a couple of weeks back. It started with 3 codes, a misfire, bad coil and stuck rich. I have since done a tune up replacing all the spark plugs, the bad coil and even the O2 sensor. It is now at a point where the CEL is not on but it still throws the P2196 with a brand new o2 sensor just installed. I am stumped as what I should be checking for next. It seems to run ok but idle is not as smooth as pre-codes. The truck is a 2006 XLT..

View 2 RepliesI have been having quite a rough time fixing a P0345 code on my 06 F-150 w/5.4 w/85,000. This truck has gone to a Ford dealer every 5K for the oil change/checkup etc.
Long and short - P0345 Code @ approx 83,500 miles, rough idle once the engine was up to temp and it would clear if you bumped the skinny pedal.
I have replaced the following:
--Both Cam Phasers
--Both VCT Solenoids (they both had holes in the screens - see this post [URL] ....
--Passenger side Cam Position sensor (I broke it pulling it out to do phaser swap)
--Spark plugs - SP515's
Issue was still present so then I replaced:
--Complete Timing chain set (Chains,Gear, Guides and Tensioners) - Drivers (left) side tensioner collapsed.
Once all back together and running the code is still there so I finally installed a REAL electric oil pressure gauge. Turns out I only have about 15psi at hot idle and 50psi when driving etc.
I am at wits end, because at this point I would have to guess that the engine is junk... Either a bearing is shot or whatever... Do I take the 3-4 hours to drop the pan to potentially see what is going on? Or just drop some 15W40 in the engine and trade it in?
I recently bought a used 2006 Sonata LX. I have noticed that the passenger airbag light on the dash above the heater controls flashes constantly when I drive alone (no passenger). Is there a way to turn that off? It's pretty annoying at night.
View 10 RepliesI have a 06 F150 and I am getting the P2207 code on it. Sounds like a O2 sensor has gone bad. From reading a little about it online, it sounds like there are (3) different ones on the truck. Is there any way of knowing which one has gone bad or do you just have to replace all of them? How hard of a job is it, do you need a special tool to remove the old sensor?
