Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Failed To Crank Twice After Changing Battery

I changed the battery 6 months ago and twice it has failed to crank since. Is there something draining the battery?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Battery Dead Overnight / Changing Out Head Unit?

2005 f150 xlt supercrew. Battery dead overnight. New battery installed, and it was drained after a few days use, then an overnight sit. I hooked up my meter as required to check for an amp draw. 5.87a draw. Disconnected alternator, no change. Started pulling fuses. Fuse #107 Power Door Lock(BSM) pulled drops down to 1.04a. Radio power fuse pulled also, drops to .033a. I have had a problem with the 6 disc changer trying to load, read, eject etc so I will be changing out the head unit. I am stumped as to what to try for the 107 fuse though.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Trans Hasn't Failed But Starts Making A Whining Sound At All Speeds

We have 3 company work trucks. They are F150's 2WD V6 - one is a 2008 and two are 2007s. They have all had thrust bearing problems. We just had the #9 thrust bearing replaced in the 2008 for the third time. The trans hasn't failed but starts making a whining sound at all speeds which varies in pitch relative to speed. The 2008 has had it replaced at: 40K, 60K, and now 70K. One 2007 had it replaced at 60K and 90K. The other 2007 had it replaced at 50K.

Our dealership says they've never seen anything like it & that our trucks are the only ones they've seen this on. They are suggesting it's happening due to driving behaviors. All 3 trucks have a single driver and aren't switched or shared. The 2008 doesn't carry or tow. The 2007s both carry hundreds of pounds of tools daily. This just seems like too much of a coincidence to be driver induced and that we're the only ones with these issues.

Saturn - Aura :: 2008 - Not Starting Even Won't Crank - Battery?

When I went to go shopping this afternoon, I discovered my car wouldn't start. It wouldn't even crank, which was strange since it seemed to be running fine just two days ago. At this point I assume either the battery is bad or something else is. It's a bit hard for me to tell since the engine wouldn't even try to turn over.

Initial Observations: When I first tried to turn the the car on it wouldn't even turn over, in fact, all I could hear was the a fairly loud buzzing from behind the dash board. On further attempts I noticed that the info display (or whatever it's called) wasn't displaying the tire pressure readings. I did later notice some "reluctance" from the automatic door mechanism, and earlier this week I observed my car was a bit more reluctant than usual to start, but I assumed it was just the cold weather. After the initial attempt to get my car started, I tried jumping it, but no luck. It still wouldn't start or even turn over. If it's the battery, said battery must have a dead cell, however, wouldn't the engine still try to "turn"?

Later observations: I tried again this evening after it had gotten dark, since it would let me observe the headlights and such. Same behavior as before. I couldn't really tell if lights had dimmed. HOWEVER, when I tried yet again a little later I accidentally set off the alarm. Now I observed the lights were dim and the horn weak.

Additionally, when I turned the alarm off I heard that buzz behind the dash again. Most of what I've seen makes me lean toward the battery, but this noise bothers me and makes me wonder whether there may be some kind of electrical fault.

Other information: My car is a 2008 Saturn Aura, that I got used in Jan of 2010. I assume the battery is at least that old, since I haven't gotten it replaced while I've owned it.

Prius (2004-09) :: 2004 - Red Triangle Came On After Changing 12V Battery

I have a 2004 Prius, the Red triangle came on intermittently and went off so I changed the 12V battery last night, after changing it the red warning light went off and everything seemed okay. Today while driving, the warning light came back on. I checked the battery voltage via diagnostic mode on the cars computer and the specs are what they should be. I noticed the following error codes in the computer:

01-D5, Sub-code: 190-30-8
01-DC, Sub-code: 190-B7-8
01-DC, Sub-code: 1C6-4D-F

Not sure if these are what is causing the problem.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Bad Shaking / Rattle At Start Up Only After Changing Oil

I have a 2004 F-150 5.4L V8 3v vin code 5. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and know my way around engines. The longer I own this truck the worse the problem gets. I believe I've narrowed it down to the oil actuated timing chain tensioners. I get a really bad rattle with a shaking condition only after changing my oil. Other then that it runs perfectly. I'm guessing it's losing its prime and trying to build up oil pressure. Is there any way to hand prime those tensioners? Or should I just go ahead and replace the whole assembly?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Changing Rear Differential Oil?

I have a 2007 ford f150 FX2 5.4 with 3.55 limited slip rear end. It has 68,000 miles and would like to change the rear differential oil. I have read and I know the oil it requires is 75w-140 plus the friction modifier. I would like to use mobile one. But was reading and the mobile one sites states that is already has friction modifiers. Is that ok to use on my truck? Using mobile one and not adding the extra modifiers?

Also some other brands say they have friction modifiers as well. Should I use mobile one and add extra friction modifier or just go with what it has already?

I own a v10 and am getting ready to assist a buddy out with his 05 5.4l. He wants me to change the spark plugs out. I have changed the spark plugs on my 04 v10. I think this is the year for went to the 2 piece spark plugs. Also what torq setting should I torq them to? Should I also use anti seize with them or no? Does the gap need to be set on the plugs? I dont have a book to go buy.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Front End Shake After Changing Transfer Case Oil

On my 2007 f150 5.4 last week i changed out the driveshaft and it smoothed things out. This past weekend I dropped the transfer case oil and refilled it with motorcraft transfer case oil as per ford but now the front end seems to shake more than before. It just seems to come through the steering wheel but the wheel seems tight almost like a death wobble with solid front axles except obviously this truck doesn't have that. There are no leaks and I filled it up to the top fill hole with between 1.5 to 2 liters of oil until it started running out. I should also mention that when i went to check the level it was overfull on the top plug but it was that way for the last 90,000 km or so.

2004 5.4L ... Codes indicate a firing issue on #4 cylinder, figure it's the coil pack. They bought truck used a few years ago and plugs have not been changed since they have owned it. I was going to change plugs while I was under the hood. While checking threads on this engine I picked up on plugs being a major job unless you know the tricks. So what tricks do y'all have up your sleeve to keep from breaking plugs?

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Clicking Noise Near The Key / AC Area After Changing Car Battery?

Started happening yesterday evening, it went on for like 15 minutes then gone then came back again. Not sure if this do anything, it happened after we changed the car battery few hours before we drove the car again.

I have a 07 with the 5.4 engine and it has started to jerk or miss sometimes when I'm pulling my trailer. I'm thinking about changing the plugs, but the dealership is telling me they will break off in the head.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: XLT 5.4L - Crank But No Start?

2008 F150 XLT 5.4L

1. Replaced fuse #9 for fuel pump.
2. Checked fuse #9 with check light, power to both sides is good
3. No check engine light
4. Battery is 1.5 years old. Just in case I charged for 1 hr.
5. Replaced fuel filter. Possible clog in fuel line.
6. Detached fuel line at fuel filter, turned key on and fuel came out of line. Seems like fuel pump is working.
7. Every time I can hear the fuel pump prim when I turn the key.
8. Relay#1 starter solenoid, I swapped with relay #2 and also replaced
9. FPDM replacement, I removed and it looked to be good.
10. Light checked all fuses, only fuse #5, fuse#35, and Fuse#36 did not have power. These fuses don't seem to have anything to do with starting or fuel to the engine.
11. Inertia switch check is good

I have read many pages here on issue of leveling trucks.What concerns me most is the pics I see of the drive axles angles.

My question is if my stock 2005 runs a 265/70r17 tire and I level it with a 2 to 2.5" kit and change my rim and tire size to 28565r20 will this keep angles more level..

Went to leave this morning and my '05 with 135K would crank but not start. Pulled air cleaner and sprayed a little starting fluid and it fired some so I had a feeling it was fuel related. Reset the fuel cut-out with no luck. I then remember seeing the issues on the forum about the fuel pump driver module corrosion and failures. Bought a new one at the local dealer, installed it and it fired right up.

Pics below...from the side it didn't look to bad but was holed through on the bottom. I highly recommend replacing this if you live in the rust belt.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - CEL Came On - Stalled And Won't Crank

I have a 2005 F150 5.4l. The CEL came on a couple days ago, but there were no driveability symptoms, and my code reader was 2 hours away, so I didn't pull the codes.

Today, I left for work and pulled onto the freeway, I went to pass a vehicle, and rolled on the throttle (maybe 60%) l and the truck fell flat. I backed out of the throttle, checked the gauges, all looked good, so I tried again. The second attempt ended the same as the first, it fell flat and felt much like a APP/TPS correlation/limp mode.

Before I had a chance to even think, it bucked a couple times and stalled (felt like running out of fuel). I coasted to the side of the road and tried to restart. When the ignition is on, the dash lights come on as expected, when turned to the start position the relay under the dash clicks, but it doesn't crank, and the starter solenoid does not click.

I have checked the starter and PCM relays. Both are good. I have not disconnected the battery or started pulling fuses as I want to retrieve the codes first. I am able to turn the engine over with a pry bar.

Here was the scenario: someone drove my truck in 4 low for a very long time.3 hrs doing over 80 km/h) When i drove the truck i could get it out of 4 low it is still in 4 low. But then the truck died on me.

The alternator pulley went on it. replaced the alternator then proceeded with the remedies from the link above.
