Truck is stuck in Park, cant get it out. Tire Pressure Monitor Failure warning is blinkings as is the low tire pressure light. Emergency Brake light stays on, EM brake is not engaged. No Electrical working, lights, radio, AC.. I don't know what is going on with it...
View 2 RepliesI've had an issue twice with the truck stuck in park. Both times I pulled battery cables and it reset itself. This time is different; the truck is stuck in park, the chime doesn't work when you open the door, the screen flashes tire pressure monitor fault and the traction control light blinks on and off. Not only that, the radio does not work, nor does the heat/air. I've got to believe with that many things its the body control module gone bad? Truck is a 2010 crew cab with the 5.4 btw...
View 14 RepliesMy father has a 2009 Ford F-250 Superduty with the 5.4l V8. Two days ago, he frantically woke me up from a nap because he could not get the truck out of park nor are the brake lights turning on when the pedal is pressed. I instantly thought Shift Interlock, did a quick google search and found that it can be the shift interlock or brake light switch on the brake pedal. I have since then replaced both to no avail as well as checking all fuses. I put a multimeter to the brake light switch connector and am getting a steady 10.2v. I am aware there is a bypass switch but that doesn't address the fact that he has no brake lights.
View 9 RepliesI have 2010 FX4 with 76,000 miles, 5.4L with automatic trans and the console shifter. Problem is, lately it doesn't always want to come out of Park when I try to go somewhere. I know that the brake pedal needs to be pushed in order to release the lock on the shifter. If I pump the pedal a couple of times it seems to release the lock eventually. Is there a brake pressure switch that actuates the lock or a switch on the pedal that needs to be made to release the lock? I have tried to search on here for a fix with no luck.
View 2 RepliesMy 2009 Ford Escape shift lever is stuck, not allowing me to shift out of park without using the manual override. However, when I slam my foot to the brake (rather than simply stepping on the brake), the brake switch relay, etc. all engage and I am able to shift out of park. Is this a brake switch relay problem, or is it possible that it has to do with the age of my brakes, etc?

- checked fuses - good
- checked for codes - none
Truck runs fine, you have to press the shift lock button to get it out of park,runs like normal.
I have a 2010 Lariat and it randomly gives me fits by not letting me shift out of park. This started yesterday and I want to know where to start looking so I don't get stranded in BFE! Its a center console shifter.
View 2 RepliesMy truck has a similar rough idle and I decided to investigate. What my plug gap was supposed to be as I didn't have access to my owners manual at the time. The specs I was given (.041-.047) is what I followed and recapped my plugs .045. The idle improved a great deal.
Now I was wondering and finally got around to checking my owners manual after I read somewhere that the gap for the 5.0 changed between 12 and 13 model years. What I found in my owners manual is that the gap I'm supposed to have is from .049-.053. My plugs were out anyway at .057. I will leave them be at .045 but am wondering why the change from .041-.047 on the 2011 model years to .049-.053 on the 2012+ model years? I assume the engine hasn't changed, so am curious of the thought process.
Parked truck, went to leave and truck starts and runs fine, says brake problem on message, wont let me move gear selector out of park, is there a way to do this manually and get it to neutral so it can be towed??

Tonight, when I was getting in the car, it turned on. I tried to change it from Park, but it just stuck and wouldn't move and let me change at all, even down to reverse. It's just stuck in park.
What is wrong with it? What's stuck, and what can I do to get it unstuck? Or else, I'd have to get it towed because it won't budge from park
Pulled up to customers home and took key out and engine kept running. Disconnected battery and engine and aux power were off. Connected battery and power came on as if the key was in. I tried putting key in ignition and turned with no change in power or engine trying to turn. Disc battery, put key in, connected battery then truck started. Last stop took key out and disc battery engine stayed on. Several prayers and repeated steps above made home.
View 6 RepliesI parked my 2010 F150 XLT at work and went inside, 10 minutes later it had rolled 25 feet and into a ditch.
My first thought was that I had somehow forgotten to put it in park but when I went over to the truck, I checked and it was still in park and the display "lit up" on the "P". Also, a buddy of mine pointed out that the key won't come out unless its in park.
And so my insurance is taking car of the damage but right now I'm driving around with my "parking rock" because my parking brake doesn't work and even if it did, I want to know the root cause of what happened for peace of mind that it won't happen again.
I never use the parking break and my truck was in 2WD at the time. Luckily it was a shallow ditch and so I threw it in 4WD and backed out.....
I just purchased my brand new 2014 F150 4x4 STX 5.0L single cab short box about a month ago. I noticed when I drove it off the lot that it had a slight vibration at low RPMs. I boiled it down to brand new stuff working out all the kinks and running around for the first time, bought a brand new jeep in 2005 and it made interesting noises and had funny vibrations for a while, but this is starting to get annoying. I have a very noticeable vibration at low RPMs both in park and while driving, more noticeable at speeds between 35-45 with RPMs anywhere from idle to 1500 or so.
I have not had it at the dealer yet, I want to be armed with a little bit of knowledge when I go in an talk to them if possible. I know how stealerships work and since it seems similar problems are somewhat common in these newer F150s, I don't want to get the "oh it's common in these trucks and perfectly normal". In my opinion a brand new truck should run smoother than melted butter on hot flapjacks, especially one that only has 1400 miles on it.
I got a couple work trucks both 2010's with around 20k miles on them. Mine just cut off on me today while sitting at a traffic light. I wasn't even paying attention till the alarm started dinging at me. The other truck stalled on my employee while turning in to park. The weird thing is I have two truck doing the same thing what are the odds.
View 14 RepliesSo I drove my F150 to work as always, with no problems. I went to leave and it fired right up, but it wouldn't shift out of park. The emergency brake light was on even though the brake was not applied, the traction control light was on even though I wasn't moving, and the tire pressure warning light was on even though all tires are new and inflated properly. I removed the cables from the battery and brushed the contacts even though there was no grime on them, and when I went to start it, it just kept cranking without turning over. So I turned it to off and gave it one more shot and it fired right up, and drove like it was perfectly fine. Why this happened? I got 75k miles on it and have never had a problem...
View 6 RepliesI was driving down the highway tonight and slid the sunroof back. When I went to close it I heard a loud click and got concerned. When I touched the butt to slide it again, it didn't move. I tried the other button and it didn't do anything. Just clicked. So, I finished my trip home as it sounded and seemed sealed. When I got home, I tried the buttons again, and only the told function worked, but only to the point of raising it.
Now I can't lower it.
2012 King Ranch completely optioned out. Never had any issues from it until last month when I had the A/C replaced at Ford. They broke my original factory windshield in the process and ended up replacing it, with another original, free of charge. I don't wanna jump to conclusions, but could they have damaged the sunroof intentionally to try to get me back there to recoop their losses?
What is the testing procedures for the blower motor controller on my 2009 150 Lariat. In the old days it was called the resistor but now it is computer controlled for the dual climate control. My fan is stuck on high, the fan switch does work(the bars on the display change when I push the fan speed button). The climate control works also, just blasts you with air and the temp is changing a lot due to the fact of the fan on High. I am 99% sure it is the blower motor controller, but I would like to test the controller.
View 14 RepliesI have a 09 f 150 4wd that i took in for a trans flush, the electrical bulkhead connector on the rear of the trans appeared to be leaking so i got the replacement part and asked the service shop to throw that in if possible. Two valve bodies were partially removed and the said part was still not accessible. i said No!!! put it back together and do the flush! s
So the flush was done (by a ford tech) and now the back up lights, rear parking aid, and rear view camera are all out of commission!
It has been in the shop for 2 days now and the flush was done a second time for whatever reason, now it wont come out of third gear. the shop owner called me to say i bought the wrong filter... I don't have the part number handy but i got it from oreilly. they say it is the filter for the 6r80 trans with the 21 bolt pan. does that sound right?
I have a 2009 Santa Fe and last night, out of the blue, the engine wouldn't start. The shift lever was stuck in park and the brake pedal was very stiff and wouldn't move much. I popped the cap off the shift lock and moved it to neutral at which time the car started without a problem. I could drive but shifting was difficult and the lever didn't really click into a gear. I noticed that when shifting gears. the indicator on the dash would change from N to D and to R in reverse but when I moved up to park, the indicator went blank and the lever locked up again and had be released manually. I also noticed when I got home, since my driveway is a slope, that when the car seemed to be in park is rolled down the driveway, so I had to engage the emergency brake.
View 13 RepliesI have a 2011 F150 EB SCREW 4x4. Built in september 2011. The issue seems to have started recently as follows:
1st incident- driving normal, came to stop, accelerate from stop (normally) and the truck was stuck in first gear. Pulled over, shut it off, waited, restarted and seemd ok.
2nd incident (today)- driving normal at around 40mph in 6th gear and all of a sudden the transmission violently jumped to 1st gear for no reason! Then slowly geared back up to 6th again.
Also, I have sometimes noticed that soon after startup, but adequately warmed up, the truck will seem to keep pulling forward at a stop light with the brakes on hard...rpm is at normal idle but it seems like the torque converter will not "let go".
I'm going to be calling the dealer but need feedback, especially regarding any TSB's, SSM's etc for this?
My f150 out of the blue says "driver door ajar" when I was on the highway today. The interior lights also came on. I opened the door several times, even slammed it. But still the warning will not go away. When I shut it off and get out, the chime and lights stay on until the accessories time out after 15 minutes. What do I do to fix this? Will be hard to drive at night with the interior lights on.
