I was just wondering how you fix the theft light on top of the dash. I gotta 07 Lariat Diesel but the light never blinks no matter what I do? Is it possible it is burnt out? If so how do I go about replacing it? or could it be a fuse?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 F-350. The Anti-theft light blinks rapidly and the truck will not turn over. Give it some time or take the key out of the ignition and in repeatedly and it will start. Sometimes not till the next day. I have replaced the transceiver & key. Did not fix the problem. Dealers all say: they have never seen this before. I would like to just bypass the Anti-theft system if possible. There are times I will just let it run for hours not to be stuck.
View 4 Repliesive got a 2000 v-10 excursion with 111k. Never had a problem like this before but last week I was driving home an noticed the theft light blinking while I was driving. Got home shut it off. next morning went to start it and nothing! when the doors open it makes a clicking noise under the dash. if I jump it the truck will start right up. If the batt is disconnected them re-connected it will start once until turned off and then nothing until its disconnected again. I ve got an elk hunt in 2 weeks and need to figure it out!
View 6 RepliesMy Ford 250 Super Duty, it is a 2008 model. I can't get it to start and the anti-theft light keeps blinking. At least i think it is an anti-theft light, a blinking red lock on the instrument panel. I bought this truck from an auction so I don't have a manual, neither do I have a key set with the push button stuff on it. Just 2 electronic keys. Someone suggested unhooking the battery overnight, and someone else suggested pressing the valet button. I found a button under the dash, I have no idea if it is the right one.

View 2 RepliesI was driving down the freeway the other day and when I hit a rough patch of road, nothing major, the truck sputtered and the 4x4 Low light blinked a few times on the console. I was driving in 2wd at the time. I kept driving and every bump I hit the truck sputtered as though trying to shift and the light blinked. On smooth road it didn't happen.
Today I drove to work at 6:30AM (40 miles), no issue. At noon I drove home and the issue started again. Every bump I hit the light came on and the truck seemed to want to try and shift into 4x4 low.
I got home, parked the truck for a few hours, then went out again, no issue. But about 20 minutes later it started again. I pulled over shifted to 4x4 high, drove it, was fine, went into 4x4 low seemed fine, went back to 2wd drove it some more issue came back. I've read tons of online threads regarding 4x4 lights etc, none like this and none on F250 Super Duty (2008).
I've got a 2006 f250 with 160,000 miles, trans was rebuilt by previous owner about 10,000 miles ago. The tow/haul light started blinking yesterday, only blinks for first couple of minutes of driving and then stops. Service engine light popped on today as well. Won't have access to a code reader until tomorrow, but looking for some preliminary info...
View 3 RepliesI have a 2004 F250 Torqshift trans, 155,000 miles. It has had a slight hesitation when trans is engaged for about 4 years, not a problem the dealer has no fix they said.
Now today for the first time I had a tow haul light come on while driving on the freeway. It would not go into overdrive and the light keep blinking. Later in the day, I let it cool down and it drove fine to the store about 2 miles. When I got in to drive home it had tow haul light go blinking and check engine light came on this time.
I hooked up my code reader and it's giving codes: P0720, P0751 and P0766.
Should I take it to the Ford dealer, a Transmission shop or have a friend who worked at Ford Dealer do the Work? I see that some people have changed out the TFT sensor and corrected the problem. While the pan is down should I just have all the shift solenoid sensors changed?
Ive been in this game 16 years have i never stumbled across this. The theft light blinks fast and no start. Ive change the key , key remote to cpu, and the cpu it self all programed properly still no start ....
View 7 RepliesMy 2000 SD 7.3 has developed a quirk. For some reason the trans has decided to shift late in all gears. This only happens once, then resumes shifting normally. However the OD indicator on the shifter blinks from that point forward. Once the engine is shut down and restarted. The sequence starts again. Late shift, through the gears, once, then shifts normally with light blinking. Fluids are up and clean.
View 4 RepliesI just bought a 2000 Ranger. I bought it at company auction for cheap because it wouldn't start. The battery was dead when I got to it. I put a brand new battery in it since it has 155,000 miles. When you turn the key to the on position, the theft light starts blinking rapidly. It will continue to do so for about 45 seconds if you leave the key on; then it will go out. However, if you turn the key to start, all you hear is relays clicking. The engine doesn't crank at all. I jumped the starter relay and the engine turns over. I have the factory manuals for wiring diagrams and diagnostic procedures.
The theft system relies on trouble codes to point you in the right direction for testing. I borrowed an Actron code reader (like you get at Autozone) and it says there are no codes. I'm wondering, though, if it only reads the SAE standard codes from any vehicle and not the manufacturer specific codes like the theft system. I have gone through a few of the diagnostic procedures with a multimeter, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack without the codes. So far everything I've checked has come back ok. Any common issues this might be related to? BTW, I've gotten bits and pieces of info about this truck from the guys who drove it. Apparently, it just wouldn't start one day and was parked for the next several months until I bought it.

View 7 RepliesI just went from 3.73 to 4.30 gears on my 2007 f250 6.0. It has the standard Sterling 10.5 rear and Dana 60 front. My mechanic friend who did the swap said the ABS light came on during his test drive but the truck drove fine. I was of the understanding that the truck would not need to be recalibrated for proper speedometer and transmission function, but what about the ABS?
View 7 RepliesOn my 07 F250 Outlaw recently I replaced my stock 3rd brake light with a Bully LED brake light.. Noticed last night that it is NOT working.. the red LED's arent working but the white cab lights are.
I plugged the stock one back in and still nothing. After looking in the owner manual at the fuse block I did NOT see a fuse for it... Got to experimenting and my peddle raise lower switch is not working either. I looked at that fuse and it looked good but just to be safe I replaced it with a new one and still nothing...
could these be tied together some how for power?
How to disassemble the dashboard on my 2008 F250 FX4? I removed the few screws I could find. But most of the panels seems to be stuck behind the central panel (where the radio and A/C controls are). For the life of me I can't figure how to take it apart.

Just had refurb engine installed with new oil elements as well. On a 9 hr road trip, the wrench light came on but no other warning lights.
No stock gauges showed any raises in levels.
No noticed loss of power at all.
The light would only come on once I drove at about 75 mph for about 10+ miles. It would not turn off when i slowed down, but when I would kill the truck and restart it, the light would be off. Just driving in town or on the highway briefly, nothing comes on. Took it in to oreillys to get scanned and they tell me a few codes pull up but none of them are valid. What would trigger the wrench?
My question is my abs light came on so I stuck my computer on it. Said right rear , we'll we all know on a 2007 6.0 f350 4X4, the there's only one sensor on the pumpkin, so I replaced it and cleared the code. Abs light came back on once I started driving, week ago my right front caliper stuck and got very hot, could that read bad for the rear of the front went bad? Will pull plug and make sure I didn't bend any pins.

View 12 RepliesI have been reading several past post regarding the misfire while in OD and going up a small hill with light acceleration around 45 to 55 mph. Everything points to the COP so I replaced it today. Still getting the code after 20 minutes of driving around. My truck shudders and looses power. I can either let up on the throttle or hammer down on it to eventually smooth it out and everything goes back to normal.
Check engine light flashed but didn't stay on. My scanner does report misfire on cylinder 7 (P0307). Haven't owned this truck very long so I don't know much of it's history except OASIS report shows nothing alarming. Guess next step is a new set of plugs.
Another first today, is the tachometer is stuck at 4500 rpm. Shut the truck off and let it sit for an hour, then went back to start and tach. acts like 4500 is the new zero and running engine at 1000 rpm now indicates 5500. 2007 F250 SD 5.4 ....
Checking out my 2007 gasser this weekend an found that my third brake light does not work....no power to the socket. The cargo lights on either side of it in the same assembly work fine so I believe the ground to be intact. My question is does this light have it's own fuse? if not where should I start looking for the solution to my problem?
