2015 F-350 diesel purchased Sept 2104. When towing my 16,000 lb 5th wheel the 6 to 5 downshift seems to have gotten much harsher in the last few months. About 10,000 miles on the truck, much of it towing. Is this an indication of a developing problem?
View 1 Repliesi have a f350 superduty with a 7.3 turbo diesel and I pretty much hafta keep it plugged in to get it to start, i have installed all new glow plugs and both relays have been changed and the problem is still there, only other option i have not tried yet was changing the pcm controller but unsure if that is the problem ..

View 9 RepliesI put some bfg at's on my '16 f250 6.2 today, 285/70r17 from 245/75r17. Has went to a larger tire and had funny downshifts? I had two hard down shifts on the way home from tire shop that I have never had before. I'm hoping this will go away once the computer relearns. Should I disconnect the battery or anything or just drive it and let it learn? I'm a little disappointed, the tires still look tiny, and checking clearances at liners and radius arms, I could have cleared a lot more tire easily. They sure looked bigger on dads '04. These will do me for a year or so until I can upgrade wheels, tires and suspension.

Recently my F350 has failed to downshift when the accelerator pedal is pressed to the floor to speed up in traffic. It will usually happen when traveling at speeds in the 30's-40's. It will shift quickly at slower speeds. I have a scan guage on it all the time and it is not throwing any codes.
The transmission has only been serviced by the dealer; last done about 24000 miles ago. No leaks or low fluids/no burned smells. Stock setup with no heavy towing use. Currently at 228000+ miles, this is the first issue with the transmission assuming I am looking at the right area for the cause.

2015 F350 6.2, 4 door 8' bed FX4...... 17,200 miles.
This morning when outside to start it (nice sunny morning) and turned the key and all the dash lights went on and also went crazy. Said it had all kind of problems on the dash, Trac system, Over heating and so on. The starter did not crank over at all. Tried this about 8 times in 45 minutes, no worky. Call Ford, they towed it to the dealer. I last drove it 2 days ago. All stock, no programmer.
Just got a new 15' 350 XL and going thru the 'setup' button on steering wheel, there is a toggle option for power windows. got out the old owners manual and heres what it does. when toggled to 'on position' and you unlock doors with the ignition key, you can immediately press and hold the unlock button again and both front windows go down automatically. this of course is for models equipped with power windows and door locks. dont know why we need this option but it'll roll your windows down for you from afar.

View 14 RepliesWhile in Tow/Haul with my 5th wheel when slowing down probably at 5 or 10 mph the last downshift is very hard and the brake pedal gets real soft until full stop. Afterwards the brake pedal is firm. Tow/Haul without the trailer is fine. It's an '06 F250 Supercrew 4x4.

When moving slowly such as turning a corner and I have to let up on the accelerator momentarily, when I press down again there is nothing for an unsettling period of time, maybe 2 seconds, as though the engine died, but it didn't and it always comes back. Is there a firmware programming update for this?

View 14 RepliesI have a new 2015 F350 XLT. For the life of me I cannot open the lid on the center arm rest. I have read the manual, and I can't open the lid. This is my 5th Super Duty with the last being a 2010. So you would think this would be a no brainer. I can pull on the handle and its not opening. Pry the damn thing open? Is there a hidden lock? Hidden treasure?
View 14 RepliesI recently graduated from a 2010 f150 XLT with F250 tow pkg to a 2015 F350 and am not liking the steering. I have owned the F350 for about 2 months and I have about 2500 miles on it. The more I drive it the more I hate the steering. The steering just seems loose and "squirrely" to me. I even took it to the dealership at a 1000 miles saying something is wrong and they said everything checks out. They, of course told me, it's because I'm used to the steering in my F150. I even told them to check the alignment because it didn't seem right.
I don't know if it's in my mind, but I keep feeling/hearing like something is loose on the front end, especially when I brake on road bumps. I thought maybe it was the ABS kicking in, but I don't think that it. I cannot pinpoint the noise and it's hard to replicate it, so it'll be difficult to get that across to the dealer. Any problems with the steering?
I have a new f350 with 1500 miles and the check engine light came on. Took it to dealer he said it was the DEF heater. He replaced that part and then it came back on and now its the GLOW PLUG RELAY MODULE. Now for the good part. Ford told dealer that I could drive the truck with the CEL on. Ford stated that they were remanufacturing the glow plug relay and that is was not available at this time and not sure when it will be ready. I filed a complaint with ford, but with little success. Not sure what else to do about this issue.
View 2 Replies2015 6.7L Super Duty ... I bought this truck 74,000 miles and almost two years ago. About 6 months ago it developed a vibration and a very hard shaking of the steering wheel when (so far) turning to the left. First began when, from a dead stop at a red light, I turned left onto an uphill I-41 on-ramp. Scared the crap out of me and I had to pull over to a dead stop to get it to stop. Happened several times but only on this ramp. Local Ford dealer checked it out 2 oil changes ago and couldn't find anything wrong. Now, 2 weeks ago it did it on the highway at 65 mph on a slow, 80-ish degree and downhill turn on a 4 lane highway in Milwaukee. Again had to almost stop for the wildly shaking steering wheel to return to 'normal.' Am taking truck back to same dealer this Wednesday for it's next oil change and they will check it out again. I pull a 37 foot, 15K pound 5th wheeler and don't need to lose control at 70 mph!!!!!

I have a ranch style bumper on the front and I am thinking about installing a pair of flush mount LED driving lights. I was wondering, how well they work? I am personally thinking about the rigid flushmount hybrid driving/flood lights with the focused beam.
View 6 RepliesMy 2015 F-350 Super Duty has a noticeable vibration between 5 and 15 mph when accelerating with my 5th wheel. The 5th wheel is heavy--around 14000 pounds. The pin weight is heavy--around 3000 pounds. The Owner's Manual says on page 191 "When driving with a trailer or payload, a slight vibration or shudder may be present due to the increased payload weight..." (This was brought to my attention by my dealer.)
Seeing the thousands of F-250 and F-350 Fords pulling 5th wheels out there on the road, I wonder how many have this "slight vibration or shudder" and what they have done about it.
The water pump on my 2015 350 (6.2L) failed this morning and the dealer says it needs to be replaced. What might have caused it?
View 6 RepliesI was looking underneath the truck yesterday and saw that the rear end pinion seal was leaking. Looked like it had been for a while. Truck has 35,850 miles on it. Unscrewed the fill plug and a lot of pressure is released. So I'm assuming the breather is clogged somewhere along the line. I have an appointment at the dealer on Friday to see whats wrong. What is supposed to be at the end of the breather tube? Mine has a barbed 45ish degree fitting on the end of it. Its a SRW by the way.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2003 F350 6.0 King Ranch. My first diesel truck. Bought it in March 2016. One owner with 102000 miles on it. Has a Bullet Proof oil cooler and 4 inch exhaust. Truck ran great until a week ago. Now, under any hard acceleration it blows out blue/gray smoke and does not seem to have as much power. Coolant level is constant and I cannot find any traces of water and oil mixing.
