Whenever I go over about 50 MPH it starts shaking like the dickens. We have a lot of snow around so I'm thinking i just have messed up alignment from hitting snow chunks but who knows. [URL] ....

I have a 20th and when the car idles it shakes a little but when I take off the car rumbles alot the only way not to make it rumble is rev it to 1500rpm what can it be causing this?? I have a catback tt exhaust can it cause it to do it?
View 1 RepliesI am currently running 8mm ECS spacers in the front and 17.5mm ECS spacers in the rear. My Summer set up is still stock BBS RC's, but my winter wheels are Lenso's.
Last winter was my first winter running with the Lenso's and had no issues. This past weekend I swapped out the BBS's for the Lenso's, and now I am feeling vibration above 60MPH. I felt no vibration with the BBS's. I just took them in to get balanced (maybe a weight fell off-idk), and they were within 1/4 of 100% balanced. They then thought it may be the spacers I'm running so they cleaned them up, but said that it didn't work.
My alignment is also spot on-so that's not an issue either. I am at a loss as to what would make me feel that vibration after just changing out the wheels.
My 1.8t gli is giving me this issue, when braking (specially hard) my steering wheel shakes side to side, my rotors got changed less than 20,000 miles ago (all of them) and they seem fine right now.
Could this be my Tie Rod ends? The car has 110,000 miles on it, and i know some bushings if not all need to be changed, which I am gonna be installing when i put on the Raxles i just got.
I have a 2003 20th anniversary edition GTI. Yesterday I noticed my car started shaking when I was driving on the highway. The only thing I can think of that I did was run into a snow bank during the snowstorm. What is causing my car to shake?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 gli and there r no lights an no codes but when I am driving the car shakes a little almost if the motor was bogging down a little. its nothing to major just a slight back and forth movement. I cant seem to figure out the problem it seems to go away during acceleration. Also one other thing is it seems to do it worse when its warmer!
View 1 RepliesI have a 05 gli w/ 65k miles. I got new plugs gaped correctly and new coils. When I'm idling at 7-800rpm my steering wheel shakes a little and when I flip on the ac it's even more noticeable. So much the rear view mirror shakes just a tad. What do yall think it could be cause it's not that bad but I'm anal about my cars and I want it to be perfect.

That was almost a week ago, today I went back to the same place to get a short shifter, I told them the problem while I was there and they said it was my coil packages. I replaced all 4 and im still having the same problem...
View 2 RepliesI have a 03 20th ae gti with about 84k just replaced the coil packs. driving on the freeway then power just goes away, press on gas and nothing. limp it off the freeway. Then it starts to die at idle and hardly turns over. car is pretty much stock. new clutch at 75k.

I was driving down the road about a week ago going about 50 in 5th gear. all of a sudden when i go to give it gas my car starts lagging and the check engine light starts flashing on and off. I used a check engine light tester to figure out the possible problems and found that cylinder 2 misfired.
Spark plugs could have been the problem so i replace them. Nothing changed. so then i thought it could be one of the coils so i switch 1 and 2 aroud to see if there was a misfire on 1 now. still cylinder 2 misfired. I am starting to thnk it may be my catalytic converter. There's a funny spell coming from my exhaust. Like fire crackers or rotten eggs maybe.
Just recently the front of of my car starts shaking violently when I reach speeds of about 57-60-mph. It also feels unstable when I make sharp turns. I've noticed my alignment has gotten worse since this issue has begun. Tire wear looks normal except for small indentation on side wall of front right tire.
View 1 RepliesI have had a wobbly wheel since I can remember, it starts at about 55. I have replaced the front tires, struts and mounts, new rotors, brakes and I cant seem to figure it out. The front end is tight and the cv axle boot is still intact and I have never seen one go out without ripping the boot. If I lift the car up the front left tire hops a bit so thats the culprit but I cant seem to narrow it down anymore. I think its the cv axle but it seems weird considering the boot isn't torn.
View 4 RepliesNot so simple as an unbalanced tire. Left front wheel/tire starts shaking at about 35 mph, worsens with increase in speed up to 52 mph then quits shaking. Some residual (though minor) vibration after that. Had tire balanced already at a good shop so I don't think that's it.
Struts are due for replacement - could that be part of the problem? I've had the thing on a lift and don't see anything indicative of a ball joint or an a-frame bushing, BUT, is it possible/probable that my problem is one or more of the latter problems combined beyond the tire issue?
I'm not sure whats wrong here but i think its a plugged exhaust or clogged catalytic converter but whats happening is when I drive my car is lacking power huge, sometimes ill push on the gas and it will hardly move and start chugging but if i push down more it will go. When i go on on ramps to the highway as soon as i hit 70km it starts to chug then i have to push the pedal to the floor to get going,then after a while the car will start to shake after 5-10 minutes of driving and i have to let it cool down or it will keep shaking or just go back onto city roads and it doesnt shake as bad. Once im off the highway my car will begin to shake more at 20km and 60km i have no clue why!

View 9 RepliesI have a 1998 F250 XLT single cab 5.4L V8 Triton. Truck idles fine 1st and 2nd are fine, when it shifts into 3rd it starts shaking really bad until it gets higher into the gear then it smooths out. same with 4th gear. If i punch the gas it flies right through the gears with little shaking. Ive heard its the u joints, I've heard its the tranny. I don't know what to do or try to figure it out.
