View 1 RepliesI own a VW GTI 2010. I replaced my abs module from 1K0 907 379 AM to 1K0 907 379 BE which is compatible with Park assist 2.0. I tried to code it with the previous coding with 00 added at the end but it got rejected. Since, then I've been trying very hard to code it.
I've tried at least 20 different coding some on which were provided by "16 D", a member friend in the forum, but they were all rejected. I still don't understand why other people were able to recode their module with the same previous code with 00 added at the end but I cannot. Is there any chart for generating such long coding?
I recently received an airbag fault light so I figured that I would scan the module for error codes. This is what I came up with:

View 1 RepliesI have a 2002 F350 7.3 Powerstroke with approximately 200,000 miles. Recently I have been having an issue with what I am told is my airbag control module heating up to the point it is too warm to touch when I am pulling a heavier load. It is located just under the dash on the center hump. I removed the black plastic cover revealing the module itself in order to determine that indeed is where the heat and smell of hot electrical equipment is originating from. It gets too hot to touch when pulling a heavy load and making the motor work...once I lighten up on it or am not pulling it immediately cools back down. If it is an option I would just disconnect it but I havent yet for fear of creating more of a problem.
View 1 RepliesI'm set on having the European parking light feature (when the car is parked and you walk away from it). For those of you not familiar with it, by changing the Instrument Cluster coding from a 2 (USA) to either a 1 or 4 (UK or Great Britain), you can turn the car off, hit the left turn signal assuming you are parked on the right side of the street, and after getting out and locking it the 194 amber front bulb and the LED red rear ring stays on. This aids in traffic seeing your car parked on the side of the road.
Problem is that once you change the country, you get this in the ABS Module:

2004 f150 - Airbag light was flashing. Received recall letter. Dealer replaced a wiring harness. Dealer did not confirm functionality of airbag prior to leaving shop. Light continues to flash. New diagnostics from dealer says error code 1885 - the control restraint module needs replacing in P&L. Does the code match the fix? Can a novice mechanic replace the module?

The code the R threw was p0606 which is the Powertrain/ Engine control module? Where these components are in my R? Or how I can go about trouble shooting this problem?

View 2 RepliesBattery kept dying. Had the battery tested. Bench tested as OK but kept dying. Replaced the battery with a new OEM. In a week, that battery was dying too. Alternator was putting out 13V but would dip down to 11V. Also did a parasitic current draw test. Car is only drawing 20mA at rest. Replaced the alternator with brand new. New alternator putting out 14.4V. Battery keeps dying. Still no parasitic current draw.
I did two things right around the same time I started having the issue. I put in a new head unit. I already had an aftermarket head unit and I simply upgraded. I know this isn't the issue because I ripped the thing out completely, including wiring harness, and I still kept having a problem. The other change I made was going from a MFSW to a 3-spoke. I removed the MFSW relay and switched the pins in the column so that the horn and airbag work properly. I tried the cruise control and it doesn't work. When I try to turn on the cruise control, it blows the horn fuse. Replaced the horn fuse and I just don't use the cruise.
What I'm wondering is if I messed up the CCM when I did the steering wheel swap. I've read that bad CCMs can kill batteries. I'm not having the typical faulty CCM issues. The only issues, besides the battery dying, are that the unlock on the keyfob will stop working at random, and the "door ajar" light on my dash flickers at random.
My 2010 GTI with 18.6k miles has been doing great until now. After a brief stop on hwy. coming back from Florida the airbag light stayed on and the cruise control stopped working. Its at dealer's now and I got a rental from VW. Guy in shop did not seem to have a clue. He talked about a module or wiring. He asked me if car had been in a wreck - no.

some time back, due to fault in the alternator, the voltage raised to around 17V in my Elantra. After this, the Air Bag light remained ON. Got it scanned from a shop and they said the system is functioning properly but the control unit does not work. The part ID is : 95910-2D300
I have two questions:
1. Does repairing this unit is possible?
2. I checked in e-bay (UK) but the exact part is not available. Are there any alternative part numbers that I can use instead of this exact one?

View 1 RepliesOn the way to lunch today, I stopped at a store and ran in for about 10 minutes. When I get back in my 'egg, I notice that the steering wheel airbag module has "popped" or "sprung" out of place. Instead of being flush, it is now sticking out and creating quite the safety hazard, I'm sure.

Now they say I need a controller module. Does that mean the air bags won't deploy in a crash?
Are the deployed on impact electrically or mechanically?
Installed last week, LED no fog. Everything worked great but I had the bulb out error. Yesterday, I had the coding done and I now have an issue. Worked fine when I left the dealer and this morning I have a "Check Right Rear Light" warning. The right rear is no longer lit. Back up light works, tail light does not. I think the dealer changed byte 18 to 21 but also changed the setting from NA to something else... maybe ROW.
