Golf/GTI VI :: 2013 - GPS Screen Size Is Smaller Than Displayed

'm a former 2004 Jetta GLI owner...looking to get back into the game with a 2013 GTI. One thing I'm confused about is the GPS screen size. Many of the cars I've seen, including my friend's 2013 GLI has the RNS315 with a very small display. On the VW website it shows a much larger display in some of the photos, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a larger display on some of the GTI's I've seen in my neighborhood.

Upon starting the car this morning this was displayed -
There was no driving done. The car was turned off, and turned back on a few minutes later and the message was no longer present. The overnight temps were around -15*F, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. There was no other message displayed, but the coolant light flashed for a couple of secs during the initial start but not the follow-up. Coolant level is normal, and wasn't frozen.
Does it come on for multiple reasons or only one?

12v vr6 in my 2000 jetta. 174,000 miles, just recently got it, has cel and couple other lights, and the obd2 scanner I have will not work on it. Car wants to die after a big rev, and sometimes while driving. Not sure what the problem could be.
Will be taking it to autozone to see if the scanner works.

I'm probably missing something but after tweaking around a bit I still don't see how to get my grouped playlists displayed in the (non-NAV) audio interface. What comes up are all the individual songs and I have to scroll down through them all to find what I want in a particular album/playlist. I'm hoping there's a "non-obvious to me but nonetheless easy" way to get it displaying album by album rather than piece by piece.

I was wondering what the maximum size tire with no lifts or leveling I could put on my truck would be. I was looking at a pair of Nitto grapler g2's at 295/70r17 with my stock wheels. Would that fit?

I drive a 2014 GS but I am driving a GS loaner now that has a newer nav and no manual in glove box. How do I increase brightness of the nav screen? Also is there a way to switch back to 2D maps from 3D?

I a new owner of a 2014 and have a question. When on the radio screen the app tab is grayed out. I can access the apps through the menu settings but not the radio. How do I get the app tab to work? I have the enform app on my phone and have it open. I also have all my accounts linked.

One thing that always annoyed me about my 2013 Prius C was that screen on the climate controls is SO BRIGHT at night, and turning the dimmer down didn't do anything to change it. I like a very dark dash when driving at night.

Lexus 2015 GS350. On the Nav. screen, when I switch my audio screen to the main screen from the side screen, it only stays on for a few seconds, and the map reappears on the main screen. Is there a way to lock the main screen to audio, and use the side screen for one of the other tasks?

I have a 2013 Elantra GT with 38k miles on it and when I put my car in reverse today, the backup camera screen turned black with the red/green/yellow gridlines instead of showing the camera video. The radio unit itself is fully functional (display, touch screen, channel tuning, etc.) so I'm wondering if the camera could be shot?

Just curious how large of an SD card the MK 7 audio system can recognize, as I believe there were limitation in previous generations. I was hoping to get a 128GB card and throw all my tunes on there instead of using an ipod or my phone.

I am at the point where I am going to change my tires on my wheels. Currently running BBS RC's which are 8x17 ET32 with tires 225/45/17.
For those who are running wheels with such specs or more "exagerated" have you had your odometer recalibrated to respect the new rolling diameter change or not? If yes what was your easiest solution. I know depending on wheel/tire sizes, various factors can be affected including speed indication.
From all the websites I have seen and asked, I am told that I can go as less a 215 wide but not lower than 45 in "thickness" (if I stay in 17).
My objective is to of course remove rubbing during load and go a bit lower and therefore do not know if 215/45/17 will be enough of a change from 225/45/17.

Owning a 2015 GS F-Sport. (black/black). I finally changed the startup screen away from the default mpeg showing the dealership info. However, I would like to load a custom image.
I thought from reading the manual that I could simply plug in my iPhone and the image library would populate but no-go.
Do I need to transfer images to an SD card in a camera and connect the camera through USB?

I read that I can change the start up pics on my GS nav screen when starting the car. I like the default ones but would like to try something new. When I went to transfer my images in the directory, it asked if I really wanted to delete the existing ones. I was under the impression that what is default remains and that I can install new ones also. Does the default ones will be removed from car nav system?

I've owned Acura's for 15 years total and now own my first Lexus. Loving it so far. Just bought a used 2013 GS350 luxury package with only 12,000 miles believe it or not. Spectacular condition. Loving it so far after 4 days!
Quick condition, is there a way to permanently display the digital clock somewhere on the nav screen or is the analog clock the only option? Not a big deal, but prefer digital clocks.

new (3000 miles) 2013 model dead in the water. will not start. have tried both keys. Wife can't remember if she might have left lights on last nite..but that shouldn't happen..with automatic off feature..right? Walks like..quacks like battery tho. When first trying to start..wipers were in on position..and they did go on..very slowly. Turn indicators only activity on the screen.
