Want to replace my park light bulbs (the wedge bulbs housed in the high beam lens) with leds but unsure how to get these things out? They have a black plastic tab on the back of the bulb fitting which I assume is to aid removal but do you need to twist then pull or just pull straight out? They look rather flimsy so don't want risk breakage ...

View 3 RepliesJust picked the Explorer up from the shop getting a new radiator. This question has nothing to do with the radiator, but the fact that the mechanic was not gentle on the drivers door like I've learned to be. Now, the door wont latch. It will close and lock, but still reads DOOR AJAR. The thing is, there is no way to keep the interior light from staying on...except to disconnect the battery. Until I can get this fixed, can I remove the bulbs from my interior lights, or will the battery still run power to them even without a bulb? Trying not to disconnect the battery everytime I park.

When I first turn on the car the P doesn't show up in the indicator to show what gear im in and I'm unable to come out of Park with the break pedal depressed all the way down, (break pedal became stiff) turner off and turned the car back on and same thing....

How do you remove the city or parking light bulb in the 2011 GTI, without the HID projector headlights? I have the regular halogen set-up...I want to change them to a super white bulb to match my Xenesis bulbs.
I know its the 194 bulb, I just can't seem to pull it free...
I tried to convert the bulbs in my dashboard with LED bulbs..and it worked for about a month and stop working..then about a week after not having any dash lights. They came back on...but like a strobe, but not all the time..... And then it'll be fine? I'm also looking Into doing a taillight conversion to LEDs.

My 1.8T with auto trans is stuck in park. I've read that the likely culprit is the break light switch but before I order the part and install it I wanted to check what else it can be because it was working fine before I fixed some coil wires. Basically I unplugged the ECU and tested continuity from the coil connectors to the ecu connectors.
I found an issues, resolved it, plugged everything back in, fire the car up, turned it off, re-installed all the covers, etc. Then I repaired a broken wire in the trunk lid wiring that was broken. But when I went to back it out of my garage I couldn't get it out of park.
If it's just happened to go while doing all this other work then it's just a coincidence, but are there other things I can check based on the ignition work I've been doing?
So I think someone reset the headlights on my r32 with a different setting (previous owner) The h7 halogen bulbs do not come on while your driving regardless of the position of the light switch. was wondering is it possible to get a euro switch and program those H7 to be a fog light? I plan on doing a lot of winter driving when the time comes and having a set of yellow fogs support a ton.
