Is this light on all the time? I just noticed it today after driving 160 some miles that the passenger footwell light was on ... then I noticed my footwell light was on as well.
It's something I never noticed before but now it's bothering me. It'd be nice if they were red LED ambient-type lighting but instead its just bright white light....
Are the foot well lights supposed to stay on all the time ? Noticed they were on (dim) while driving.
View 7 RepliesI started having some issues with a quite loud rattle under the passenger side footwell of my 2012 Golf R. It was a distinct rattle that sounded like it was coming from inside the passenger side dashboard. It was driving me insane. There were many posts about rattles and an equal number of proposed solutions, none of which worked.
I set about listening to see where exactly it was coming from an it turned out to be coming from the passenger footwell floor. I went under the car to see if I could hear it. I couldnt but I took all of the under plastics off to have a look. The plastic bracket that holds the O2 sensor was really loose so I though, "success!". Took it off and started the car, but it was still there.
After punching the floor a few times I got back under the car for another look. I noticed that the fuel lines or whatever they are run through a part of the underbody. With the car running I stuck my finger into the small hole and pulled the lines to the side. Low and behold the noise has stopped. A couple of cable ties later and it was all fixed.
I'm getting water on my passenger floorboard. It's a large amount too! Where it's coming from if it's a common thing? Also, since I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of these cars yet, how do i access the "trouble spot"?
View 7 RepliesEvery time it rains the carpet is very wet by the left drivers foot. I have cleaned out the drain behind the front wheel and used a heavy gauge plastic mono line to clean out the drain for the moon roof. Unfortunately it still becomes wet. My next area to check is the drain from the area at the bottom of the windshield. How that can be done? 2000 Camry XL....
View 5 RepliesI am on my 3rd GTI, a 2013 GTI Autobahn, came out of 2011 GTI Sunroof/conv model. I have various rattling noises in this car. The sunglasses holder rattles all the time especially when i am listening to music with a little bass, the roof rattles a bit but that seems to go away if i close the sunroof shade, also my front passenger door rattles.

Foam around the top of evaporator drain guide was wet. Why don't they use tubing for the drain instead of the guide??
View 1 RepliesThe DC Power/cigarette lighter no longer works. When I plug in a phone charger it lights up for a split second then goes out. This leads me to believe it is not a fuse because I don't think it would get any power at all...but I'm not sure and I don't even know where to look for the fuse to check it.

View 6 RepliesI've got a loose panel in the passenger footwell. It's the black plastic panel that your toes touch, if your passenger puts his heels on the floor and points his toes toward the sky. It has some kind of a white pad/filter on the top side.
The edge of the panel nearest the seat is firmly connected. The edge nearest the engine flopped down. I tried to put it back. There seems to be one plastic tab that sticks out and fits too-loosely into a rectangular hole on the front-of-car edge. As soon as my kid gets in the car again, his toes bump the plate and it flops down again.
I have a Toyota Aygo which leaks water into the passenger side foot space, so that when it rains, about 2 inches of water collects where the passengers feet would be.
It's been in to the dealer three times to fix, they replace the door seals but it seems to me that the rain isn't coming in via the door or window, but up through the floor somehow, ie seems to come up through the carpet suggesting it's coming in from somewhere else!
I am still getting the CEL codes for the Secondary Intake Air Pump after I noticed the water in the passenger foot area. I clear the CEL but it comes back on again after a few days. I am now trying to trouble shoot the issue. When I start the engine cold I do NOT hear the blower come on the first minute the engine is on. That tells me the Secondary air intake pump is not turning on. Next I must check the relay or fuse tied to the pump. Which relay or fuse number it is and where it is located exactly?
If the fuse/relay is not the issue, how difficult it will be to change this pump and where it is located exactly?
So I have a hissing sound (kind of what the vacuum cleaner makes when air path is obstructed with debris) coming from passenger side foot area. The easiest way to hear it is to turn on HVAC and put the fan on the lowest setting so the sound of the fan does not interfere with the noise.
View 1 Replies2004, 6.0, 96,000. I noticed a occasional clunking under the passenger foot area. The exhaust pipe is loose at the turbo connection on top the engine. It is swinging L & R & hitting the spring hanger & transmission cross member. Is there a rolled pin, dimple or other alignment device at the flange at the turbo???
View 4 RepliesMy ABS light has been on for quite some time although I don't notice anything actually wrong with the system, it brakes very well and I have done a couple 60-0's. Any common fix other than replacing the entire sensor, it's the only light in my cluster at the moment.

I know there is a sensor, I think near the MFI.
My door open light is on all the time. Doors are closed and no interior lights on.
View 3 RepliesSo I'm also noticing my car occasionally makes a huge thud sound from time to time when I put it into two certain gears. From park to reverse it's not loud but there's a little noise, but from any gear into Drive it's sometimes a loud boom and the car shakes. My pops mentioned to me this is dangerous because of how the engine is moving underneath the hood when it happens. I just recently changed the dog bone mount, could it be the others? I'm ware that it's wise to change all 3 if you change one but I was on a budget & it was a lot worse before. Someone mentioned it might be my torque converter but I did some research & the two symptoms don't add up. And I'll add once more that this happens occasionally & not every time I switch to a different gear. What it may be?
