Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Condensation On Inside Windows When GTI Sitting In Driveway Unused

Jan 10, 2016

My Gti has been sitting in my driveway unused for a couple months now. The condensation in it has been unusually heavy when parked. The carpet is dry, doesn't smell damp inside, no coolant smell. Windshield was replaced 2year ago never had a prob with it so idk if it's that that's leaking, but what would the signs of that be? But what I really think it could be is that my recirculating flap is stuck closed. Could that be it?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: After Driving For 20 Minutes And Sitting In Driveway VR6 Start Running Hot

This only happens once or twice a week. After driving the car for 20+ minutes and sitting in the driveway, it will start running hot. I'd say around 230 degrees and it will stay there until I start driving the car again. I made sure the fans work and I also checked the coolant level and both are fine. What could be causing this issue?

Honda :: 1993 - Lots Of Condensation On Inside Of Windows

About 3 weeks ago I noticed my dear '93 Honda wagon with only 68,000 miles was developing lots of condensation on the inside windows. About a week ago I noticed that there was about half an inch of water on the passenger side in the front, back and a little in the well that holds the spare tire. I have contacted my mechanic and a leak specialist. The leak specialist said (without seeing the car) that there was more than one leak since water was appearing in all these areas. I thought it strange that all leaks would appear at one time. Also need to mention that about 3 weeks after I bought the car 18 years ago, I forgot to set the parking brake and it backed into a rock wall which damaged the passenger side of the wagon. That damage was repaired at the time. The windshield is also cracked but I can't imagine that would be the source of the problem. There is no water on the dash.

Golf/GTI VI :: Condensation On Inside Of Windshield

As stated in the title I'm having condensation on the inside of the windshield, but I only notice it when I get off work and go out to start my car (I work second shift and get off at 11:30pm) but when i go out in the morning or afternoon I don't notice any. I pretty much roll everywhere with my windows up so I'm not getting rain in it other than when i open the doors to get in and out.

Golf/GTI VII :: Condensation Inside Headlights On Cold Mornings

My brand new gti with the lp is forming condensation inside the headlights on cold mornings! I have seen a few threads about this, but I'm planning to get a hold of vw because I hate the dealerships and they all basically suck once you've bought the car.

Jetta - Volkswagen :: 2006 TDI - Foggy Windows From Inside When Driving

Our 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, with 227,000 miles, recently started to fog up inside everytime we drive it. The dealership cleaned the sunroof drains thinking that was likely the cause (although, the car is always garage parked). That did not resolve the issue. We have to have the defrost on full blast to be able to see out the windows, and still we need to roll back windows down to wipe condensation to see out of them when making a turn.

Golf/GTI VI :: Sound Inside Dash When Sitting At Idle

About two days ago a noise started happening when I sit at idle... The moment I touch the throttle it goes away. It's rather loud and disconcerting.

The video starts off in drivers seat, then I took the phone to where the vent for the defrost is, and then below the glove box. It's audible everywhere.

Golf/GTI VII :: Moisture On Inside Of Windows After Rolling Them Back Up

I have had my '16 4 dr S for about a month now, and have had only one issue, well two if you count the fact that my LG G4 will not connect to AndroidAuto. Even when it is dry out and hasn't rained for days, both sides of my windows will be wet after rolling them down and back up. It is almost like the rubber seals act like sponges and coat the windows with water as the window passes through. It is not enough moisture to drip down the windows or cause a musty smell or anything, but it is aggravating.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Drip Spots Under Car - Condensation From The A/C System?

I have noticed that I have been getting some drip spots under my car whenever I am parked. This has only started happening in the summer. I got under there and dabbed my finger in the discharge and found it to be odorless, clear, and not viscous. Basically, I think it is just water. Could this just be condensation from the A/C system? It has been dripping under the passenger side right under the firewall.

Camry :: 2011 XLE Alarm Go Off While Car Was Sitting In Driveway

I recently purchased my 2011 Camry XLE and have had the car alarm go off while the car was sitting in my driveway. This happened a few times and I thought I would push the plunger door switch in and out a couple of times to see if this would work. It did for a while like 2 weeks and then yesterday the car alarm went off again while it was sitting in my driveway again.

I grabbed my key and hit the door open button which turned off the alarm and locked the doors with the remote key fob. About an hour later the alarm went off again. I stopped the alarm again by hitting the open door button and then went out and pushed the door plunger button in and out again. So far the alarm hasn't gone off again.

When this first happened I took it back to the dealer and they said they tested the alarm system and found nothing wrong with it. Is it safe to assume that it is a bad door button? Is there any record in the car's computer that would tell when the alarm went off and why? Can the door plunger button be adjusted to correct this?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Water Condensation In Tail Lights / Spare Tire

I have water in my Jetta's tail lights and its really annoying. I just had them both out on the weekend and checked out the foam gaskets and they were both fine but i replaced them with an older pair I had that looked in even better shape but basically the same condition...

Rained pretty hard last night and now there is like more water in them then before... I made sure I tightened them down good because they were not that tight when I originally took them off.

There is water condensation in my spare tire well and making my carpet wet and starting to fog up my rear windows..

Prius (2001-03) :: Getting Turtle After Sitting In Driveway For 3 Days With No Activity

We have an 02 prius 120k that works fine and dandy for the most part (slightly lower mileage then when new - we get 36-40mpg but I think part of that is the lead foot & AC usage) except now we have got the turtle a few times after it sits unused for a few days.

After driving it around for awhile the turtle goes away and doesn't come back. But this has happened a few times, the most recent after it sat in the driveway for 3 days with no activity. When we use it daily this doesn't occur.

Does this sound like the big battery is giving up the ghost after 11 years? Or is there something I can do to make it a happier camper (other then the obvious of paying attention to it daily)?

Volvo - XC90 :: 2005 - Alarm Going Off Randomly When Car Sitting In Driveway

I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 with 120K+ miles. About 2-3 months ago, the car alrm started going off randomly, while sitting in my driveway. Generally it would go off around 9-11 pm, but also at any other time. It has gone off 5 times in a row within 5 mins. It has gone off at 3 AM, 4:10 am, 5:15 am, and other totally random times.

It happens anywhere from 2-5 or 6 times from when I get home til I leave in the morning. But here's the thing......it ONLY GOES OFF IN MY DRIVEWAY. Only. I have taken the fuse out, had the remote starter and alarm disconnected, tried leaving it unlocked, tried parking in a neighbors driveway. It still goes off.

The time are so random that no one can figure it out. The weather makes no difference. I literally keep my keys in my hand at all times when I'm home so that when the alarm goes off, I can turn it off as quickly as possible. I keep them on the floor outside when showering and in my hand when I go to bed.

The Volvo dealer says he's seen it 100's of time and he can fix it, but when I told him it only happens in my driveway, he said he had no idea what the problem could be. It's going to a car shop next week to see if they can disable the factory installed alarm but I hear that's nearly impossible.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Beeping Brake Warning Light When Go Up Steep Driveway

Had the 2003 Jetta in for inspection, and he said the rear brake caliper was gone. SO he replaced it.

Now in the morning when I leave for work, as I go up my steep driveway, the brake warning light comes on and beeps at me. Then it stops.

On the way home, as I come up the steep road to my driveway, the warning light comes on and beeps at me!

All other times and all other driving, it's fine.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 1999 - When Pulled Out Of Driveway Car Started Running Rough

I have a Jetta Mk IV, yesterday I went to go drive it and just as I pulled out of the driveway it started running rough, so I pulled back in the driveway and the coolant temperature sensor light came on, then the check engine light. and then it died. Then today I tried starting it, and it will only start and run if I have the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and it runs really rough. Then it will die. I thought maybe the coolant temp sensor since the light came on. I replaced that, and it still does it. I'm leaning towards a head gasket.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 1.8t Died Going Down Driveway On A Rainy Day / No Communication With ECM Message

I've done as much research as possible, why my Jetta won't start. Here's what happened. I've had the car for 11 months now, put in a new clutch, timing belt, water pump, cool packs, valve cover gaskets, 3" stainless downpipe, and rear springs when I got the car. My rear 02 sensor wire was hanging down below the car, after the downpipe installation. I didn't think much of it until the car died going down my driveway on a rainy day (Had a CEL for a vacuum leak) but right when it died I threw a scanner at it and I got a "no communication with ECM" message.

Cranks but doesn't start and CEL doesn't come back. I did some research and found out that my o2 sensors are in the same circuit or system. Well I found that 2 wires from the rear o2 sensor had shorted out and caused my car to die. I checked the 100 and 428 relays under the hood and they click like normal and seem to be working fine, pulled apart ecm and all looks well and so I reassembled it. The 409 fuse under the dash had just a tiny bit of soot or something covering a few of the prongs so I took the black plastic cap off of it and everything looks ok. Reassembled and reinstalled. Put a new crankshaft position sensor in it. Still nothing. None of the fuses in the side panel are blown either. I'm scratching my head on this one.

Windows - Subaru - Outback - Windshields :: Condensation On Outside

I have been driving my Subaru Outback for almost 60,000 miles over the past 7 years, all over the country, so I know it pretty well. I just replaced the windshield for the first time, due to a crack. I chose a windshield company with many A ratings on Angie's List, although I'll admit it was the least expensive one. They seemed very professional.

I drove the car tonight after it has rained a few days, including earlier today. It was 72 degrees with no humidity. After driving about a half hour, i started getting crazy condensation on the outside of the windshield, and there was some film that the wipers couldn't seem to completely get clean. I also had fogging inside the window ---even though i was driving with the windows open. This has never happened to me before. I assume there is some problem with how they installed the new windshield?

Passat (B7) :: How To Prevent Condensation Inside Headlights

I have the Chinese LED-stripe headlights, and I've been getting condensation in them lately. The weather hasn't been particularly warm, cold, or humid lately, but it happens every time I use them. It does evaporate over time, but it is quite a bit of moisture when it occurs (definitely noticeable, and dripping down the entire front inside the housing). With winter coming, I'm worried about this continuing to happen and freezing, etc. Is there something I might have done wrong when I installed them? This is not a case of water getting into the light housings--it almost seems like I need to do something to vent them, however, to see if that prevents the issue.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Condensation Inside Headlights

I seem to have a bit of condensation inside my headlights. Is this normal?... On a car that's not even a year old? Seems to only happen on days that are raining, very humid, or when I give it a wash. Basically anytime there's contact with water.
