I realized my horn is not working. I also realized that the left side turn indicator (blinker) light is not working and when I popped it out I saw the wires were chewed up, I am not sure what happened. Do you think I need to remove the wheel well liner to try to access that area? What to do?

Just bought the truck used and it's my only issue, waiting on a owners manual, but I think each bulb is fused separate, and since half the bulb works, can I rule out the fuse and start chasing wires ??

The house which is connected to the switch, with the one of the red wires obvious fried....
So I'm hoping this problem and I'm wondering who else has had this happen. When I took apart the ignition switch itself, nothing appeared to be damaged. No burns no broken pieces, etc. the metal post on the outside corresponding to the fried wire on the housing was corroded, but that was it.
I think I need to replace the housing since all that plastic melted and I chipped it away to get to the connector. I can't seem to get the connectors on the wire off of the metal connectors that are supposed to be in the housing.
I have 2000 golf with a gli front end. Recently just did the swap and now I'm having issues with one blinker and one high beam not working. The running lights work on both sides. The headlights work on both sides. I checked the bulbs and they were good. I check for power it was all good. I checked the fuses and they were fine.

View 6 RepliesSo, I decided I'd swap out my 4 spoke MFSW for the nicer looking 3 spoke. From what I read, it should've been a direct fit, which it was for the most part, besides the horn not working after putting it back together. I tried looking up solutions, but to my dismay, found loads of things that didn't solve my problem. I already made sure the fuse, and the relay was fine, which they were. The horn worked fine before changing the steering wheel... For whatever reason, I'm only getting around 1-2 volts at the pin connector for the horn pin, and from what I read online, I should be getting 12 volts.
So from what I know so far, for whatever reason, the 12v from the relay, is not reaching the steering wheel fully, which doesn't allow the horn to work. I even tried putting the old steering wheel back on to see if it made a difference, which it didn't. It didn't even work with the old one on it either. I am currently unable to drive the GTI until this gets fixed,
I picked up a 2004 Jetta 1.8T and it's had a lot of electrical issues, it had some water damage from a plugged cowl drain and a I've found a bunch of stuff just unplugged. I had a shop fix some missing grounds to get it running and they went through the dash and found all the air control plugs had become unhooked somehow, so they got the air conditioning working. Now i'm working on getting the locks and the horn to work. I've checked the fuses, they're not blown. I'm not sure about the relays under the dash, but I can hear a clicking from the comfort control module when I hit the key fod. The buttons on all the doors are not working. the horn will sound if the alarm is set off but doesn't work when the button is pushed on the steering wheel, nor when the key fob is struck. The windows all work, both from the key turn and the switches in the door. I'm totally lost on what to do here.
View 3 RepliesOkay, my 1986 f150 with a 351w (non-feedback carbed) Has no lights on the cluster, and none of the gauges work (haven't tested the speedo yet, truck is not registered yet).
I also have a minor issue with the turn signals... Fronts work, no rears. The left turn indicator light on the dash does not come on but the right turn one does. All my "primary lights" (markers, tail, headlights) work fine. I have not yet tested the brake lights.
Fuses all look good, truck did have some roof leaks. I've done some research, does this sound like the dreaded voltage regulator issue for the gauges?
My assumption for the left turn indicator light is that there is a replaceable bulb in the dash (probably blown), is that right? Rear signals might be wiring (PO installed his own trailer wiring) or bulbs? haven't gotten that far into it yet...
I just picked up a 2004 F150 FX4 Supercab, I had a safety inspection done and am working through some of the issues.
The turn signal indicator on the passenger side mirror is not working (front and rear indicators work). I took the mirror apart and get no voltage to the led array, next I pulled the rubber boot off of the harness in the door jam and probed the wires while with a test light and found one of the wires would blink the test lest light but the colour didn't match the the turn signal array, it matched the heated mirror wire. I probed at the heated mirror connector at the mirror and sure enough it blinks! Then I notice that the heated mirror indicator light on the center dash is blinking? I push the heated mirror button below the indicator light and ALL turn signals (front and rear) stop.
I searched the forum for mirror turn signal issues and found a thread about corroded wire splice below the fuse panel. I checked and have no splice all look ok so I thought I would post and see if I can get some direction or a schematic.
The symptoms are :
- Passenger side mirror turn signal(right turn) indicator does not work
- front and rear turn signal indicators work
- power seat works
- fuses are good
- drivers side all turn signals work fine
- heated mirror indicator light on the dash blinks with the passenger side turn signal
- pushing the heated mirror button when turn signals are flashing (right turn) results in a solid heated mirror indicator light but all other right turn signal indicator stop blinking (off)
It seems to me that there must be a short between the two circuits but where?
I have a 03 1.8t jetta if i turn the steering wheel all the way to either side a epc light comes on and cuts power a lot what could this be....

View 4 RepliesMy wife's '07 has that fast-blink thing going on with the left turn signal. The thing is, none of the bulbs are out. It does appear that the front ones are dimmer than the ones on the right (which work fine).
View 8 RepliesThe left turn signal blinker on Toyota works sometimes and not others. It is weird, it seems when the weather is cold, it works, warm weather it works sometimes.
The car is: 2002 Toyota 4-Runner, limited....
I also have a problem with my left blinker and my break lights. My right blinker works just fine, but my left blinker and break lights will not come on unless I pull the blinker switch forward a bit- as if I'm going to turn my brights on.
View 14 RepliesThe small screen in the middle between the speedometer and the RPM has not been functioning ever since in bought my Automatic 1.8T.
Now, to set some things straight, my transmission works fine. The small screen lights up in blue when the lights are lit, but the actual gears are not shown both with light or without light.
I checked my Fuses and all seem well. What could be the issue?
Search came with results came back with airbag light on but nothing about the horn not working. A little over a week ago the airbag light came on and I've noticed the horn is not working either. Any usual cause? Fuse etc? 2008 Jetta.
View 4 RepliesI'm having a weird issue with my passenger side turn signal light. It's more of an annoyance than an actual problem. When I turn on my headlights both yellow turn signal lights also usually turn on but the passenger side one is not turning on anymore. The odd thing is that it still blinks as normal when I engage the turn signal. I replaced the bulb but it did not resolve the issue. I'm thinking it's an electrical short somewhere. It's not the wiring in the headlight housing because I tried an old housing I kept when I replaced my headlights last year and I still had the same issue. What I should check first?

I've replaced both front and back bulbs as well as the flasher and turn signal fuses, so I am assuming the last and final one is the turn signal relay.

View 3 RepliesI have replaced the ball joints(a year and a half ago) and put in the the ecs tuning control arms with the solid bushing. Recently, I have had a clunking sound, from the left wheel, when turning right. Kind of sounds like the ball joints when they were bad. This noise only occurs when I turn right under about 30mph. It also feels like the wheel might be doing a quick "wiggle." Do you think it is the ball joint again? Could a bad wheel bearing be doing this? I have replaced the right wheel bearing, but have not done the left one yet.
