So i was installing a led light in the trunk of my car to replace the old halogens an when it came out a spark happened and now i am unable to use my key fob or roll up the windows, lock the car, or get in the trunk. Also already tried to reset both FOBs but they are not working.

I just recently replaced the driver side 4-button window switch with one from AARodriguez (FixmyVW.com) on my 2001 MKIV Golf. The new switch had been working fine, but over the last few months, the back windows intermittently wouldn't roll down. It was a gradual process that started when I realized that the windows would actually start to roll back DOWN when I was rolling them UP, or was it vice versa... regardless, it was backwards, and I would have to do it a few times to get it to work properly.
Now, the windows won't roll down at all using the driver's switch, but I do hear a click in the back doors as though some connection is being made. The windows just won't budge. The switches on the back doors work flawlessly, so I don't think it's the motors. The switches for the front windows on the new 4-button switch work fine. There's always a possibility I got a bum switch, or that this one went out, I suppose.
2000 Passat 1.8t 5Speed... Drove to school today, Parked, the windows wouldn't roll down, the locks weren't working, the trunk wouldn't open so i tried starting it. The car wouldn't start. Charged the battery. Still nothing. Tried jumping it, Nothing. So i had to push start it and it ran but nothing still worked.
Drove it home. and it wont start still. I looked it up and some one said they had the same problem, and it was the CCM (comfort control module)? Is this what it sounds like. No dash lights or lcd warning came up. fuses are fine. radio worked. headlights. dash worked. nothing else though.
I was minding my own business when my 2002 Audi A4 started acting up. All of these issues occur on an intermittent basis.
First, none of the windows roll down.
Second, the interior lights come on and stay on even when the doors are closed.
Third, the obnoxious seat belt warning beep stays on even when my seat belt is on and the doors are closed.
Fourth, the remote control will not lock the car (although the key works).
Fifth, the remote control will not unlock the trunk.
All of these seem to happen at the same time. My car is silver color.
Is there a way to mod the automatic windows up and down. What I mean is that If i arm the alarm with remote, all four windows will automatic roll up. The honda accord has the function which will roll down the windows by the remote before you enter.

My key fits the door and ignition but does not seem to fit the trunk or the back seat lock that gives better access to the trunk. The fuel door switch works but the trunk release switch does not (no sound, haven't checked wires yet).

On Saturday my wife and I went out for a ride, she had to get something form the trunk so I unlock the doors and she gets out when she gets back in the car I notice the trunk lid light is on and i tell her to close it she said she did so I get out and close it. I noticed when i went to close it the latch wouldn't engage. I turn the car off and try to use my key to lock the trunk, I noticed the alarm doesn't engage when I try to lock it. I then try to start up the car and it wont start.
I pop the hood everything looks good I try it again no luck after about twenty minutes of testing, I decide to disconnect the battery. The car starts right up but while im driving i notice the trunk lid light comes back on and my doors keep trying to lock, then my windows go down for no reason...What is going on, I have heard that some passats have a real bad electrical problem with time but what causes it and is this something Im going to have to bring to the stealership to get fixed.
I was wondering how is it done to have the windows close with using the key fob. Also I saw that you can set the windows to roll up with the rain sensor as well on the mk5s. Can we also do that?
View 14 RepliesI drive a 2011 GTI. The other day I left my car parked in the sun for a while so it was all hot and stuffy inside when i came back. I rolled down all four windows and then pulled out the key after they were all the way down. Within like 3-5 sec, all four windows rolled back up by themselves.
This kinda threw me off cause I didn't expect that to happen. I tried to show my friend later to impress him but it didn't do it. So im thinking whether that was just one of those freaking moments that only happens once, or is this an actual feature that comes in the GTIs.
I was doing the mod to use my remote to roll down my windows and to roll them back up...
worked great the first time... then the 2nd time I tried it the passenger rear window would not roll up... 3rd time the driver passenger window would not roll up...
Where the settings are and what settings to change to achieve this via VCDS?
View 15 RepliesSo I recently bought a Ross-Tech cable and have been doing some coding and was a little disappointed when I wasn't able to change the diff lock settings. After exploring a little more I came across Byte 1 bit 6 in CAN Gateway [32] Differential Locking. I tried checking it and then going back to adjust the diff lock settings but still no dice .
My vehicle is 2010 Golf TDI 5 door.
I have a 2012 Golf R that has the Kessy system. I get "Keyless Defective" on the screen and am unable to lock/unlock doors by touching the handles. Key fob lock/unlock buttons work fine.
It ended up being a plug had come undone. I have a feeling it's the one that's just under the back of the rear seats. I was installing stereo wiring and it kept coming apart. What to look for under the hatch floor or the seats?
I had noticed that my car had been "fogging up" on the windows during warm days. today I cleaned my car and had everything out of the hatch area, I noticed there was about a half inch of water in the spare wheel area.

View 10 RepliesOK, all the cars/SUV's I have owned in the last 4 years had a great feature. If you held down the unlock button on the keyfob for a few seconds you could roll down the windows and open the sunroof.
A GREAT feature to let the heat out while you're approaching the car on a hot day or to just let fresh air on other days. Can it be done?
The windows/moonroof wont open when using the fob. I unsuccessfully tried pressing and holding multiple button combos. with every other car I've had. I just had to hold down the unlock button or press it a few time.
