I have a Jetta 4.5, as you know this cars has a function that when the windows are open and you lock the car, if you keep pressing the lock button in keys of your car, the windows automatically closes.
The last week my car was full washed, the engine and everything, actually the Radio went into 02 Safe mode but I did a trick to fix it, but my windows are still with that issue.
I have the windows/sunroof close via rain sensor enabled through vagcom. I go to the MFD but every time I select it on, it'll reset and turn off when I turn the car off and on. Why? Can't get it to stay on.
Also, to not start a new thread. What the Manual Door Lock option in the MFD does? It gives you the option of all doors or individual. I looked in the manual but still don't understand what it does.
Is this something that can be done with the remote? Does it have to be activated by the dealer? I can open/close windows/sunroof with the key but not with my remote.
View 8 RepliesI have been trying to tackle my AC problems for quite some time now...I noticed my AC was not working properly a little while back, so I ran the diagnostics on climatronic. It came back saying AC high pressure switch. I replaced that -- still nothing. I continued to run more diagnostics. My fans run when the car heats up, so its not overheating, but when I turn on the AC, no fans come on automatically. I jumpered the fans directly off the battery and they both work on both speeds. When I hook it up to the thermo switch plug, it only works on low speed. I replaced the FCM, which had a lot of corrosion on it -- I Even had to run repair wire for 2 of the pin ports. I Jumpered the compressor too, and it seems to have kicked on as well. Even if the compressor were bad, wouldn't the fans still try to run when AC was on.
View 12 RepliesI normally open my Jetta with the key, as apparently the "remote" works on all doors but the driver's one. I will fix it at some point; anyway, what really disturbs me, is that all the doors get locked after a short time I start driving and stay closed even when I stop and turn off the engine. It's very inconvenient because I normally always put something I need to reach on the back seats etc. Can this behavior be changed? Do I have some options?
View 9 RepliesI have left my moonroof open at least 10 times in 2 months! When you turn the car off and open the doors there to get out, the car doesn't give any warning sound to remind you that the moonroof is open! just a little msg on the cluster which I never look at n e way. even worse when I lock the car the roof wouldn't automatically close. My friend has F-20 328i and his moonroof closes automatically when he locks his doors. is there any setting in the car to fix this issue?
View 12 RepliesI own a 2000 Jetta auto with 200k on it. I have the same problem. It wouldn't change gears till 4000 rpm i scanned it. And got the cods g38 and g68. So I changed both. It was working fine then again same thing it works then stop works. So scanned it again and got same codes changed them again worked fine then stopped working so I took it to vw and they told me same thing same sensors and the wire harness so I changed them again got the parts from VW this time. It was working then stopped. And when I turn on the car and drive my gear box display goes all black for at least 10 min driving then goes back to normal. But sill doesn't change gears. Now not even after 4000 rpm. Ps. When I do it manual 1st gear 2 and changes fine once I put it on drive doesn't not change gears.
View 7 RepliesWell our remotes only worked close the car and was driving us nuts. You'd have to be within 10 feet or so to arm or unarm the car. So i looked at the wiring diagram for the comfort control module and found which pin the antenna wire is at. Its pin 10 of the smaller connector (12 pin i think) and is a copper wound wire with a clear sheath around it. its the only one that doesn't have a colored insulation around it. I removed the terminal and wire from that slot and installed a new terminal with 6 feet of wire spliced on.
I then routed the new antenna wire along the door sill and to the rear seat area. Its now a 6 foot antenna instead of the small 2 foot one. I then started walking away and arming and un-arming the car. i got to the end of my court (roughly 50 feet) and it was still arming and un-arming even if i held the remote low and not up in the air. Id have to say this was a HUGE improvement and i am much happier not having to walk down stairs to arm the car.

Are there screws or something somewhere? I also thought I read somewhere that the car automatically adjusts the headlights slightly as your driving? How do I account for that?
View 4 RepliesSo last night, I went to close my car door and it just "Bounced" when I went to shut it. It did this a few times and then I got it closed. So I left it until this morning and now it won't close at all and just bounces. I believe the latch is broken. Any quick fixes to this?
View 2 RepliesMy sunroof opens and closes correctly. but when in the closed position it will be sunken into the cabin of the car a few MM not sealing to the body of the car tightly. how do I fine tune the sunroof to sit flush with the body when closed? some kind of adjustment screws?
View 4 RepliesI opened up my hood and now it doesn't close... it seems like the latch isn't locking into place and holding the hood down. I do a lot of car work myself, but after countless hours of trying to figure out why my latch isn't locking shut, I give up. I am planning to take it to a local dealer after I schedule an appointment, but that means that I can't drive for a few days... maybe weeks if they are booked... I don't want the hood to pop up on the highway or anything.

View 4 RepliesWe just bought a used 2007 Mazda CX-7 in Dec 2010. Three times that I've parked the car, only me, no witnesses, and used the remote lock & alarm set, I've come back to car after shopping to find the two front windows down. The first time I thought I must have left them down but it's happened two more times, twice when it's been at night and cold so that I would not be driving with windows down.
View 3 RepliesI installed a non-auto euro switch. I tried scandinavian drls and that left all my exterior lights on at all switch positions, even off and when the key is off. I switched no drls and the switch works as it is supposed to. I tried enabling some of the comfort stuff. I want the remote to be able to open and close the windows, but I can't get it to do it. I think i have the right boxes checked in vag com, but no luck.

View 22 RepliesWhen you use the key to lock the car door, you should be able to hold the key in the lock position on the driver's door and the car will close the windows and sunroof, right?
For some reason, this is not working on my car. The alarm sets and that's it..
So currently i wrecked my jetta. so....i decided why fix it when i can upgrade so ive decided to purchase a new-er car so Ive come across a 1999 passat with about 135xxx v6 auto/tiptronic and its selling under 2 grand. only issue is that none of the windows open or close. i am willing to fix this i just have a few questions.
How reliable is this make an model?
How much in the hole can i see myself with the above mentioned window issue?(not sure exactly what the problem is)
Any specific questions i should ask when i go to see the car?
I have a customer with a 2013 Touareg. He wants to be able to open the windows with the FOB as he approaches the vehicle. I was able to use VAG-COM to allow the driver's window open/close, but not the remaining windows.
