Golf IV R32 :: Automatic Windows Connected To Rain Sensor?

Jun 16, 2011

Any way to connect the windows to roll up if the rain sensor detects rain drops? Just thinking that this would be a nice cool feature to have if there is a way to do it.

Golf/GTI VI :: Windows Up And Sunroof Close With Rain Sensors

I have the windows/sunroof close via rain sensor enabled through vagcom. I go to the MFD but every time I select it on, it'll reset and turn off when I turn the car off and on. Why? Can't get it to stay on.

Also, to not start a new thread. What the Manual Door Lock option in the MFD does? It gives you the option of all doors or individual. I looked in the manual but still don't understand what it does.

Golf IV R32 :: Rain Sensor Won't Working Properly?

So far i haven't been able to find a lot of solid info on this rain sensor. Here's what i know:

My sensor indeed works, if i remove it and move my fingers the wipers will speed up/slow down accordingly. It looks like the window has been replaced and a very "shotty" job was done replacing the sensor/rearview mirror.

There was extra adhesive around the sensor, i removed that and cleaned it up, also cleaned up the gel over the sensor. Reinstalled everything, still cannot get it to work.

If i have just the sensor on the windshield, it semi-works, but when i put the mirror back on, it doesnt work at all.

I know the sensor is good, i get the fastest wiper settings. Relay #192 is good.

My best guess:The sensor is going bad, or the gel isn't making a good enough contact with the windshield allowing it to "detect" the rain hitting it. You can tell the gel isn't in the best of shape and I am pretty sure that's the culprit.

Where to locate a rain sensor? or the Gel, or if any gel can be used, I am going to try and find something i can "substitute" in place of the gel thats on it.

Golf/GTI VI :: Rain Sensor Part Bumpy, Rear Mirror Was Hanging

A month ago, when I got into my car I saw that my rear view mirror was hanging freely with the tension of the rain sensor cables. My windshield was changed last winter. The thing is insurance company didn't change it with the original factory version. So I think they removed the rain sensor from the old one and tried to stick it to the new one. And the whether was so hot at that time so the glue just came off. The only part of the mirror that didn't came off was a black sticker kind of thing with a hole for the rain sensor in the middle of it. Then I tried to stick it back using super glue. Well it worked for a month but yesterday my mirror fell of again. So I cleaned the residue of the super glue from windshield using acetone and left it like that.

I'm thinking of taking the car to service now. Oh and btw the rain sensor part is a bit bumpy right now. I mean it doesn't stay in a fixed position. It stays a little bit in front of the hole it should stay in so gluing the mirror back is possible only if I apply the glue to the rain sensor.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Automatic Shifting - Code P0722 Output Speed Sensor

I just recently purchased my first mk4 golf 2.0 after having a mk3 jetta vr6 for two years. I've been having problems with the car shifting (automatic) i put a code reader on it and came up with p0722 output speed sensor which explains why it sometimes shifts at 4500. My two questions are where is the output speed sensor located? and what is a normal shifting range for properly running automatics?

Camry :: 2008 - Squirrels Eating Wire Connected To Sensor?

I have a 2008 XLE Camry. I have/had problems with squirrels eating wiring in my vehicles. I checked my Camry the other day and noticed the wires were eaten off a sensor.

The damaged connector is behind the engine cover and located on the left side of the black plastic cover directly behind the engine cover.

The connector is white plastic, has two thin wires black and black/white. This connector is attached to a large yellowish nylon base on the end of this black plastic cover between the engine cover and firewall.

What is the purpose of this connector. Everything works on the car although gas mileage dropped off about 2, which could be attributed to this winter blend ethonol.

Prius (2004-09) :: No Start - Automatic Doors / Windows Were Not Responding

I came back from a vacation of 10 days and tried to start my 2007 Prius and it was not starting when I had the key in my pocket (as it used to before)...The automatic doors, windows etc were not responding as well to the remote...

So I inserted the key physically and it came on with the Malfunction light and then beeped for a few seconds and then that light went away as well...I pressed the on off button to turn off the car...

I ejected the key and then reinserted it and now it is not even showing any indicator light...

Prius (2004-09) :: All Automatic Windows Won't Work Except Driver Side

2009 Prius all windows stopped working except the drivers window.I have checked fuses, window locks,etc...I heard that the problem is the "bcm" which is located under the drivers seat. One window was half way down when it stopped working so I took the door panel off and ran wires from my laptop power supply and ran it up. I am wondering if i could run a wire from the battery with the correct fuse on it to each window and bypass this '"bcm" thing altogether.

After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem. Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 FSport....

Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Rain Sensor Module Came Loose After New Windshield Installed

My 330 had a new windshield installed prior to purchase and shortly after, the rain sensor module came loose. Cleaned things up and epoxied bracket in place, and about a year later it came loose again. Seems temperature related - a hot sunny day and the epoxy loses adhesion. I'm ready to try again but at odds as to what adhesive to use. Any long term successes out there?

Golf/GTI VI :: Leaving IPod Connected To The MDI

Is it okay to always leave my iPod connected to the MDI? I ask because I noticed it continues to charge my iPod even when the car is off. I don't want to hurt the battery if I leave my iPod connected 24/7. On the other hand, it would be a lot more convenient to leave it plugged in all the time.

Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2001 - Location Of Automatic Lights Sensor?

I've got a 2001 f150 XLT and I've checked the Haynes manual and searched Google but I'm having no luck.

I'm trying to locate the sensor for the Automatic Head Lights.

I had a small "spill" on the dash at night and immediately the lights started to blink and click. It fixed itself but sometimes it will do a weird little "click, click noise" change thing. I would like to clean the sensor or ensure it's not partially blocked.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Battery Draining Too Much - When Connected With Negative Cable Lit Lights With Car Off?

My car has been having an issue with battery draw. when I don't drive it for 2-3 days the battery is drained enough for me to need my jump pack to start it. I have done a wire tuck on the motor and also have air ride. I hooked a wire up between the battery and the negative cable with a light connected and it lights up with the car off. What I have done so far is to pull each fuse in the door fuse panel individually and the light stayed on the entire time. Next I pulled the power feed to my air ride system out and the light flashes and I can hear what sounds like a relay clicking. If the issue were the air ride I would think disconnecting it would make the light go out.

I need to pull the fuse panel that was on top of the battery and pull those fuses out too. Should I try pulling the relays as well?

Golf IV R32 :: Cam Position Sensor Or Engine Speed Sensor?

I took the car out for a little spin about 8 miles. We where about .5 of a mile from the house and there is a section where you have to stop on a little bit of a hill. I stalled the car due to the new Dm clutch then headed to the house and the car started to run like crap. I hooked up VAGCOM and had this code:
17748.P1340 camshaft position sensor-G40/ Engine speed sensor-G28: incorrect allocation(#1)

I swapped out the 2 cam position sensors and cleared the code and started the car and it still ran like crap. I just happen to have a new Cam position sensor(hall sensor) so I swapped it out in both cam positions one at a time and cleared the code and the car still runs like crap.

Is there a way to check(test) with vagcom to see if its one of the engine speed sensors?
