So one of my headlights turned purple, and I get an "light" signal on the dash. It still lights up but it's purple. I have 23,000 miles on the car and I have had it for 1 year and 4 months. Also, should I get both light replaced.
View 8 RepliesSo the other day driving to work i was driving my car to work, i put my turn signal on and after i turn it off it still kept doing the clicking noise. At first i thought i was just hearing stuff cause it was early and i was tired, so after work i checked it out again i sure enough it was doing it. It even does it sometimes without even first putting the turn signal on. My buddy and i thought it was a relay or a fuse. Is that right?
View 7 RepliesHad an issue arise today where out of the blue my turn signal decided to turn on and stay on... and i do not mean it was blinking as if i was going to turn i mean solid on, no clue what caused the issue, the stalk is still in the middle position, and when i turn the other side on (passenger/right) it blinks normally, now if I turn the hazards on they both come on and stay on solid, this problem does not even stop when i pull the key out of the ignition, I have to remove the negative battery strap for it to turn off completely.
View 3 RepliesWe have a 2015 Sonata 2.4 Sport that has developed an intermittent turn signal problem. When the left turn signal is turned on, the right signal will blink. When the right signal is turned on, nothing blinks. A new symptom that recently started is sometimes neither turn signal will turn on regardless of the position of the turn signal stalk. I managed to get the car to dealer #1 while the LEFT=RIGHT & RIGHT=NOTHING issue was happening but while troubleshooting it, they ran across an inactivated aftermarket alarm system that dealer #2 that sold me the car had installed. I guess the alarm they install is so cheap, it's not even worth removing if they are unsuccessful in upselling you at the time of purchase.
Since dealer #1 would not troubleshoot any further unless the alarm was removed, I retrieved the car and took it back to the original dealer #2 I bought it from. They removed the alarm and the turn signals started working again, however, this lasted about 2 weeks before the symptoms returned. I booked an appointment at the dealer #1 to bring the car in & half way during the drive there, the turn signals started working again. With nothing to show them, I didn't drop off the car. Now the problem is back. Since it tends to come and go, I have try and time when I can drop the car off so it's happening when they get it.
This is the first time I ever encountered this then again this is my first non-Honda/Acura vehicle. I pulled into my driveway turned the engine off , opened the door and the sound that signals your lights are on was blaring. I looked and did not have any lights on and all doors/hatch were shut. I could not figure it out why... then I noticed my right turn signal light was on.............. so I clicked it off and the noise stopped. Is this normal for the engine to be off and the signal light stay on and wail if it has not reset itself from a turn?
View 4 RepliesI seem to have a problem with my jetta. It's the 1.8t. When I turn the turn signal on, I can see the dash and headlights dim. Also when I tried putting both windows up at the same time, the car seemed to short out and almost shut off. It reset the time and trip mileage when it did so.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette that started to overheat yesterday. Was on the red, and the red light on the dash had just turned on. I pulled off to the side of the road, turned the car off and let it sit a few minutes. Turned it back on, and drove further than the first time to get a scheduled oil change and no more overheating problems for that drive. Had them check my radiator fluid and they said it was fine. Car sat the rest of the day, and went out in the evening - car started to overheat, (past 3/4) and I started revving it, and it cooled off on it's own, and remained cool the rest of the evening. This morning, it's doing the same thing again. Begins to over heat, so I turned it off. Turn it back on, and it's fine. Had new head gaskets put in, in 2009 at about 90,000 but aside from that and some wheel work, that's all I know that's been an issue since I purchased it in 2006.
View 6 RepliesMy .:R will not start/ stay running. I just put my turbo back on. It ran great when I pulled the turbo off to get it rebuilt. When I first started the .:R, it fired right up and ran okay. About a minute later it shut off like I turned off the key. I went to restart and all I got was cracking but no start. I checked everything over and tried again. It started but shut off about 30 seconds later. After that I couldn't get it to start just cracking. I gave up for a few hour to gather my thoughts. I went back and no start again.
So I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and tried again. It started but shut right off after a minute and wouldn't restart. So I disconnected the battery and tried again. It started again, so I revved the motor to about 3500 rpm and let it sit there and about a minute it shut off like I turned off the key. NOTE: All the dash light stayed on like the key is on but the engine acts like the key was turned off. The ECS light stays on the when the engine is running or not.
2002 Golf TDI . I am having a no start problem. I get all of the dash lights, the battery is fine, and there is just nothing when the key is turned. Our 2002 Golf TDI, now, of course, almost 15 years old. The dealership detects nothing through a computer read, and I'm down to the starter, relay and neutral switch as possibilities. The battery is just 3 years old, and we are at just 68K.
Can a neutral switch be tested for proper operation? Can the electrical system by tested for a starter motor or relay fault? The dealership maintains I need to await failure before they can do anything. We've had previous VW electrical problems w/this car - several dead batteries, complete on-board computer failure after having the car several months, way back when, and that part has been fine since then. I sold my last VW, a 1974 Karmann-Ghia Coupe, a few years ago, and these under-the-hood diesel setups are beyond me.
After I turn the car off the "PARK" light in the Dash stays lit for about 6 seconds after all the other lights have turned off. Is this normal?
I will advise, I have the parking brake set to auto and the car seems to be functioning normally.

Just had refurb engine installed with new oil elements as well. On a 9 hr road trip, the wrench light came on but no other warning lights.
No stock gauges showed any raises in levels.
No noticed loss of power at all.
The light would only come on once I drove at about 75 mph for about 10+ miles. It would not turn off when i slowed down, but when I would kill the truck and restart it, the light would be off. Just driving in town or on the highway briefly, nothing comes on. Took it in to oreillys to get scanned and they tell me a few codes pull up but none of them are valid. What would trigger the wrench?
I drove to the mall and left the car there, when I was done and tried starting, it fired up but the rpms started to fall and CEL came on. CEL are:
-16497 P0113 050 Intake air temperature sender-G42 Signal too high
-16486 P0102 050 Air mass meter-G70 signal too low
And after it died it cranks but never fires up. I called the dealership trying to find out where the IAT sensor is but they said it's in the manifold and not sure where. Where is IAT sensor?
I only have access to an old VAS scan. I can only edit the long code directly.
I'm looking for the value (hex or binary) I need to put on Central Electronics (09), Byte 15, Bit 3 in order to turn the drl off when turn signal is on.

I just got a 2003 1.8T Passat about a week ago. I have already installed a new HU and put some subs in it. I haven't really had the chance to test the headlights while driving because I haven't driven after dark since I got the car. When I used the headlights today some strange things were happening.
When the headlights are turned on the right signal comes on and stays on until the headlights are turned off and doesn't pulse. If I try to use the right signal while it is stuck on it makes the indicator clicking noise once then the noise stops but the light stays solid the whole time.
If the headlights are off and I try use the right signal the signal works fine but the instrument lighting pulses with the signal and I assume I haven't noticed this because driven only in the light I probably just never noticed.
The left signal behaves completely as it should as far as I know in all conditions. The hazard lights are also behaving oddly but I'm thinking it's because of the problem with the right signal.
Experienced problems with their right taillight, both brake and turn signal light stopped working. This occurs intermittently. I have replaced my rear license plate lights with error free leds .

View 16 RepliesI have a 1998 Camry. My directional light and click correctly when I tun them on. When I GENTLY turn off the directional signal, I hear the relay continue to click, however the dash lights do not blink, nor do the outside lights. If I let the directional lever jump back into place, the problem does not occur. Is it the switch in the column, or the relay?

View 3 RepliesI'm having a weird issue with my passenger side turn signal light. It's more of an annoyance than an actual problem. When I turn on my headlights both yellow turn signal lights also usually turn on but the passenger side one is not turning on anymore. The odd thing is that it still blinks as normal when I engage the turn signal. I replaced the bulb but it did not resolve the issue. I'm thinking it's an electrical short somewhere. It's not the wiring in the headlight housing because I tried an old housing I kept when I replaced my headlights last year and I still had the same issue. What I should check first?
