I have a 98 gp gt. I have no power going to the radio, sunroof, steering wheel controls, or power windows in the fuse panel I have virtually ripped this car apart and still no clue why I'm not getting power.
View 3 RepliesSo I have a 1999.5 F350 diesel and the fuse panel under the steering wheel is acting up. I was driving my truck home the other night and I lost power and my truck shut off. I have had a problem in the past with the #30- 30 amp fuse ( controls the PCM and glow plugs from my understanding) that is under the steering wheel, I replaced the fuse and everything started working normally again. Until the other night when my truck shut off, so I replaced the fuse the truck drove again for 20 feet died again, I was able to hold the #30 fuse and allow my truck to start up again but would eventually killed the PCM and shut off again and would not start up due to what I believe the fuse location shorting it out and killing the power to the PCM preventing me from starting it up again.
I had my truck towed home and charged the battery and it started up fine the next morning. If I push on the #30 fuse my truck the shorts out and kills the power, I do not know if this is normal? The fuse is sitting loose in the fuse holder is there anyway making it fit tighter to prevent it from being so loose? I have read every other post online about the problems and tried everything they have recommended but still can not figure out what was wrong with my truck. I disconnected the fuel filter heater, and also the wastegate solenoid to see if that would prevent the truck from shorting out if I pushed the fuse it did not work.
What the problem could be causing the #30 - 30 amp fuse to be shorting out preventing everything from working? Or how to test the fuse panel and all the relays?
I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and the AC just stopped working. The fan blows but i don't get any cold air. I have noticed the AC clutch plate does not move and the relay does not click when the ac is toggled. Long story short, I think I need a wiring diagram for the AC. Here is what I have checked/ruled out so far.
1. When I toggle the AC, the AC clutch relay does not click so i assume there is no power getting to the relay. (I have recently had other wiring issues so I'm guessing its the same case)
2. I swapped the AC clutch relay with the fog lap relay (they are the exact same relay) and the fog laps still worked so i know its not the relay.
3. I have checked the AC fuse and that is fine.

Just replaced power steering pressure hose while engine out as PM. New hose wasn't correct shape so I bent the tubing to fit. I later realized that I bought a hose for power steering without variable assist and the hose for variable assist looks correct.
Is there any harm in leaving the "w/o variable assist" hose in now?
I noticed red fluid coming out of a line behind the radiator. The line runs directly into the bottom of the radiator. Is that line the lower pressure or high pressure power steering line?
2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, GT 3.8L
Radio is fine, all gauges and such seem to be normal. The climate control unit displays 75 degrees, the fan is blowing, but none of the controls do a darn thing. I can't turn it off, up, down, or anything. Where to start looking?

When I drive the truck and give it gas everything works. Let off the gas and I lose everything. Sometimes after about 20 minutes of hey driving it will stay on. View 2 RepliesI took my '02 Passat in a couple weeks ago when the steering wheel controls and horn stopped working. They replaced a fuse. About 10 days later, I experienced the same problem. That time, they said that the steering wheel was all shorted out and needed to be replaced. Five days later, again the same problem. Now the dealer says it's some faulty switch from the fuse panel, which caused the short of the old steering wheel. Since that wasn't replaced, that's why I experienced the problem again. Could that have been the only problem? Or could that really have fried the steering wheel, too. Am I being taken, and do I need to fight to get some of that money back? Or is this legit? How can I verify that what they said was the problem actually was, and that I'm not left paying for their mistaken diagnosis?

View 4 RepliesI use my touch screen a lot on my prius. When I do use my steering wheel controls for the radio it won't change from station settings 1-2-3. But it will change stations on station settings 1-2-3. Is it possible to use the steering wheel controls to go through all of the radio stations? This might allow me to stop using my touch screen controls so much.

View 1 RepliesThis may sound petty, but I would like to have the radio controls on the left side of the steering wheel of my 2012, instead of the cruise control. I guess the main question is how the wire harness is set up. Do the wiring can be re-routed to accommodate the switch?
Also, I want to smooth out the ride a tad so as to lessen the amount of griping from from the passenger seat. What is acceptable in lowering the tire pressure to allow a better ride without compromising tire wear? The factory specs are 65 psi. My truck is a 2012 fx4 Lariat with the 6.7
So I just got my 2014, upgraded from a 2007, and one change that is bugging me is the steering wheel controls for the radio. In the old truck clicking the scan up/down buttons scanned to the next radio station, in the new truck it scans through the preset radio stations. I really don't like that. Can it be changed or am I stuck with it?
View 2 RepliesI have encountered a problem with my car engine. I noticed the car was not putting out enough power. When I press on the gas pedal aka accelerator the car drives real slow or sluggish; it seems like there's something clogged. I recently replaced the alternator which was draining the car battery. Since then the car starts up without any problem. I assumed its the EGR valve. The original EGR valve was quite carboned up but the used one from the junk yard didn't do much justice to the problem.
Additionally, the car is rough idling which I believe was due to bad gasoline.
Catalytic converter was struck by curb and heat shield was damage. Everything seems to be intact!

I have a 1998 grand prix the key left in the ignition buzzer keeps going off after I have taken the key out of the ignition and open the door to get out. Everything with the ignition works fine except for it telling me I have left the key in the ignition when I haven't.
View 4 RepliesI have a 98 gtp 2 door with the electronic dual zone climate control. I can't get air to blow much out of the floor vents. I applied vacuum directly to the actuator and air came from the vents fine. It seems there is a box behind the glove box that controls the vacuum to each actuator. My question is, would the issue likely be with that vacuum distribution box or with the electronic climate box itself.
