I've read the manual many times...and I know it was this way too in a previous Passat I had. On a V10, can the steering wheel radio controls be made to change 'preset radio stations' instead of scanning to the next higher/lower station???
View 1 RepliesI use my touch screen a lot on my prius. When I do use my steering wheel controls for the radio it won't change from station settings 1-2-3. But it will change stations on station settings 1-2-3. Is it possible to use the steering wheel controls to go through all of the radio stations? This might allow me to stop using my touch screen controls so much.

View 4 RepliesI notice i need to have the nav unit on the "RADIO" tab to change stations with the FM1 and FM2.
however, if i have the nav unit on the "MAP" tab, and want to change stations, i need to switch back to the "RADIO" tab and make the switch.
Isn't there an easier way to swap between radio stations without needing to go back into the "RADIO" tab? for example if you play with the knob on the steering wheel, it flips through some already pre-assigned stations that the radio takes on when the unit is turned on. of course none of these are the my presets.
I thought I'd finally move into the 21st century and jump on the mp3/bluetooth streaming wagon. Was always the traditional CD-album guy and after this, I may need to go back.
Problem is, I can't change track with the radio or steering wheel controls. Also, unlike the phone which automatically is available for use after the auto-connection happens via the car's controls, I have to manually launch the player on my phone then push play on it. Once done, music plays from the BT Audio system and when that track is complete, moves on automatically to the next one. The control of pausing, playing, skipping tracks does not work via the car (steering and audio controller) and is ONLY possible from the phone which defeats the purpose of a hands-free driving experience.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android v4.3 and I've tried both Google Play Music and the native "Music" player on the device, with no luck. I have the standard Display Audio Controller (no-NAV).
Most will agree it would be nice if the steering wheel controls were brighter. There has to be a tech out there that knows where the light source comes from. ( Its not magic.) If its a bulb,can a brighter one be installed??
View 8 RepliesI have a question regarding the HUD display and the steering wheel audio controls. According to the manual there should be a audi menu in the HUD control by the steering wheel controls. I don't seem to see one? I have the upgraded audio with digital. I checked the TOC and can't seem to find anything about this. Am I missing something?

View 9 RepliesThe factory stereo in my Elantra 2015 sedan does not have bluetooth and the steering wheel does not have the audio controls on the left side. I want to replace the factory stereo with a bluetooth stereo and add audio controls to the steering wheel. If I get the same audio controls that are on Elantras with bluetooth will they work? Is the wiring or wiring harness present for the audio controls? Would the car computer have to be reprogrammed?
View 31 RepliesOwner of a brand new '13 Prius C Two. No "Entune" system, just the basic radio. I connect my iPhone 5 via Bluetooth; it works wonderfully. I can still use the handset controls to make phone calls; I have speed dials set up, and using my iPhone 5 as a phone in the car works great.
What stopped working this morning: skipping tracks using either the "Seek" button on the Prius radio itself as well as the controls on the steering wheel. Volume controls on the radio itself AND on the steering wheel work just fine for adjusting the volume.
The "Pause/Play" button on the Prius radio does work, but only after about :04 seconds or so. A song or podcast will play; the steering wheel controls for skipping tracks does not work; same with the Seek button on the radio itself; and pressing the pause/play button works, but not immediately after depressing it. Takes a few seconds.The only way to skip ahead/backward is on the iPhone itself.
For the almost 2 months I've owned the Prius C, this is the first time this has happened. Connecting audio via Bluetooth has "just worked" every single day. What's perplexing about this is that I've changed nothing on the iPhone overnight. The Seek button on the Prius radio worked fine yesterday, as did the steering wheel controls not even 24 hours ago.
The Seek button on the radio itself does work with the radio and a CD. Same with the steering wheel controls; as long as I'm not trying to control the iPhone, it works fine.
I Just bought my 2010 Prius and have noticed an irritating background radio static while listening to fairly weak AM radio stations. This occurs when accelerating or slightly accelerating, but almost disappears upon letting up on the throttle. Toyota has no bulletins, or answer on RF noise suppression on Gen. III models. One note, I went to my Toyota dealership & the service manager suggested I drive a new Prius to see if the noise is in a different car. He went with me, and bingo, it was noticeable in the new car. He said there was no information on it, but would check with Toyota and get back.

I expected to lose steering wheel controls for the radio and hands free, but I did not expect to lose the steering wheel controls for my climate control and multi function display. I can no longer use the Disp, Trip, and climate control buttons now.

Anyway to possibly make dual use of the cruise control buttons already in place? All I really care about are volume controls anyway.

View 4 RepliesOn our 2007 turbo diesel auto santa fe the audio controls first and now the cruise has stopped. Had problems turning cruise on would have to press buttons 3 / 4 times to work now nothing.
View 1 RepliesOne day I started my car and all of the lights came on and stayed on(ABS, Brake, airbag, seatbelt, exclamation point, etc). The next day only the airbag light stayed on. Then, the radio would change stations on its own. I told myself it was some kind of electrical problem and took it to the dealer. The person at the dealer assigned to me kept it two days and I got it back. The next day the airbag light came on again and stayed on. The radio started changing stations on it own again. I took it back to the dealer. He said the air conditioner hose got clogged by a huge spiderweb and other debris. He said he had a factory representative there and the problem was not a factory defect and would not be covered by my warranty. The total airbag system needs to be replaced and the electrical system. What should I do?
View 3 RepliesI have a 1992 Buick regal custom and the radio doesn't work. No sound comes from the speakers and the tape deck doesn't work either. The radio comes on but I can't change stations or adjust volume. It just seems frozen.
View 3 RepliesI bought my truck as a 2012 base XLT model, with no Sync and no audio control buttons on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Since then, I have retrofitted in the stock navigation / audio system, added the Sync module, and installed a new steering wheel which came with the proper audio / sync controls on the right-hand side.
After installing the steering wheel, all of the buttons on both the left and right sides light up properly at night, and the controls on the left side for cruise and the message center still work fine. I had the dealer reprogram the SCCM to the VIN of a 2011 Lariat truck which had nav. However, they told me they could not get the wheel controls to work and ended up reprogramming the SCCM back to my VIN.
I would really like to get this to work. In consulting with the company that set me up with the navi and Sync, they said there may be some module which acts as a gateway between the SCCM and the audio system, but not really sure which module that is. Could be the BCM or the instrument cluster.
So I just got my 2014, upgraded from a 2007, and one change that is bugging me is the steering wheel controls for the radio. In the old truck clicking the scan up/down buttons scanned to the next radio station, in the new truck it scans through the preset radio stations. I really don't like that. Can it be changed or am I stuck with it?
View 2 RepliesI've had this 2013 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) for about 6 months. During that time on at least three or four occasions I've lost all my radio presets. They just disappear and are replaced with stations I don't use. It seems to happen in between car usages, not while driving, but I am not sure about that. I am not noticing any other problems. It's a HD radio. I did not continue Sirius after the introduction period.
View 13 RepliesI have a 10' F150 and the radio has frozen. It will turn on but only displays the compass, Ext Temp, and time. All three of those items flash every two to three seconds. The controls in the steering wheel and dashboard no longer work (volume, seek, media, voice control...).
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
1. Turning the radio off and on
2. Restarting the truck
3. Pulling any fuses associated with the radio in the sub fuse box not sure of the technical name).
