I have a 200 GMC Jimmy SLE and I am trying to program the new FOD key for it. I followed the listed instructions here [URL] .... and here [URL] ..... but it will not enter program mode.
So, is there another method to try to get it into program mode? I have looked here and else but the only other instructions has to do with pre 2000 series blazers.
When I bought that '99 F-250 SuperDuty, it only came with one key and one keyfob. So, I had another key made (no chip in key, btw!) and ordered 2 more keyfobs.
I've followed the instructions to the letter. I cannot get the truck to go into 'program mode' to program the new keyfobs.
I've also ordered (and received) new door locks, ignition 'lock', since the key to start the truck doesn't work in the doors. Strange.
Anyway, the original owner said that he had to have the ignition 'lock' replaced and he lost the door keys.
What is the proper way to get this truck into 'program mode' so that I can program all 3 keyfobs?
I have a new keyfob for my wife's 2000 X, and I'm trying to program it. The procedure is simple, right? Get in the truck, put the key in the ignition, lock the doors, unlock the doors, then cycle it to the run position (back of off), 8 times -- staying in "run" the eighth time.
I've done this OVER and OVER after my wife said it wouldn't work for her. The problem is that when you hit run the 8th time, the locks should cycle, indicating that it is ready to program the remote. The problem is the locks never cycle.
I also tried the same procedure without the locking and unlocking step prior to turning the key. And I also tried it by locking and unlocking prior to inserting the key.
My 2011 Prius does not have an MFD since mine is the standard model. I tried to find a way to monitor the 12V battery by searching the forum but could not find a way to enter maintenance mode without the MFD. How to put my Prius on maintenance mode?
View 8 RepliesI purchased a used toyota camry 2006 2.4 LE. They key fob doesn't work since I got it, so I thought maybe the key fob battery is dead or the key fob itself is damaged. I searched for how to program they key fob and found some instructions, but it doesn't work. I can't get the car to enter the programming mode for the key fob(it should lock and unlock automatically as tutorials point out). Where to start tackling this problem?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2009 Prius with an Enginer 4kwh battery pack. I know that the Prius' programming has a number of parameters that control when it will enter EV mode.
The display says "Cannot enter EV mode now" when engaging my Coastal EV mode switch at times when I believe it should be able to enter EV mode. Here are the conditions from a recent trip:
-Stopped at a light
-The ICE not running
-Car fully warmed up (just drove 10 miles)
-AC off
-Outside air temp 62 degrees
-Battery showing green bars with the top bar white
If I enter EV mode when the car is started cold then it works fine. Once I've driven it a while I can't get it to return to EV mode reliably.
The last time I spoke with my local Toyota dealer they said that because the 2009 American Prius was not shipped with an EV mode switch they would not support that mode.
We lost one of the cars remotes, I found online few sellers that sell remote (exact as well as cheaper simpler ones). Is there a way to program it at home without the paid support of the dealer ....
View 3 RepliesI just bought a used 2009 Camry, which has a remote starter installed, but my key will not operate it. From what I understand, the original owner lost the key that was programmed to work with it, and the replacement key does not. I have four keys: one is entirely metal, one is black plastic with no logo, one is black plastic with Toyota logo, and the last one has all the buttons which pop the trunk, and remotely lock and unlock the vehicle. I tried using the key with all the buttons to remotely start the car, but nothing happens.

First, I can no longer enter EV mode with the ev mode. It always says cannot change into ev mode right now. In the past, that only occurred during the warm up cycles. Now it always says that regardless except if I try when first powering on before the engine starts. In that case, when it was working, it would switch over and the MFD would change to show the battery. Now nothing and the engine always starts.
Also, the battery charges and discharges much faster than it used to. I can barely get a 1/4 in stealth (feathering the throttle to keep the ICE from kicking on) without it going from 8 bars down to 2.
So i recently got a used R and it failed to come with an owners manual and im trying to see what my MPG's are, how to set this wonderful feature?

View 3 RepliesNew owner of a used 2012 corolla. I only have one remote key. After digging through google and ebay. I brought a set of new remote keys with the known warning that I have to take it to the dealer for programming.
What tools to get to have this program by myself. It just cost too much over $150 from dealer just to program a key not counting over $250 dollar for the key itself.
I purchased a NEW 2008 Hyundai Keyless Remote on the internet. It didn't come with programming instructions. How to program this remote.
View 15 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry I4. My RKE stopped working. First I checked the battery in the remote, it reads 3v like it should. I searched and found how to reprogram the the receiver, so I tried that. I did the door and key dance and got to where when you pull the key out and the door locks lock then unlock. I try pushing the lock and unlock button, then just the lock button as per the instructions and I get nothing. Supposed to get one cycle of the locks if it works and tow cycles if it doesn't. I get neither of those, nothing happens. So I buy a new remote off of eBay (brand new, never used, OEM remote). I try the reprogram door dance again and get the same results. The battery in the new one reads 3v like it should as well. So I go off to a junk yard to replace the receiver door controller, I found one and replaced it and I get the same exact results.

View 10 RepliesThe 6 button powercode remote start and alarm will shut the engine down if you open the door after remote starting.
Here is the fix, I found it somewhere else. It's nice doing stuff yourself that the dealer tells you it cant be done.
open the drivers door
turn on the ignition
hold the program/override button for 15 sec (horn will chirp 3 times)
press the override button again horn will chirp 4 times
" " horn will chirp 5 times
" " horn will chirp 6 times
" " horn will chirp 7 times
" " horn will chirp 8 times letting you know you are in option bank 5.
press the panic button on the fob horn will chirp once
" " chirp twice
" " chirp three times
" " chirp 4 times
" " chirp 5 times
press the lock button on the fob once...your led alarm light will now be off.
Turn off the ignition
you are done

Activate the remote start open the door(smile) just don't press the brake before you put key in ignition and turn.
I have a 1998 Jimmy 4x4 sls. The problem I have is at 2000 rpm the battery light comes on starts dipping bad alt shuts off and it drops from 14.2 to 12.2. After you release the throttle its starts charging again below 1500 rpms. It has done this with a stock alternator and a 190 amp alternator rebuilt alt. Two different batterys two batterys hooked up at once or indivisually. I pulled the duralast battery looking for grounding issues. I found a severed ground off the three factory grounds. I stripped it replised it then the engine warmed up again the same thing. It has one orange wire going to the regulator ared 10 gauge to the battery.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 Jimmy and it just won't start. All lights come on and horn works. No crank when I turn the key. I had this problem before and the problem was a bad starter relay. I replaced the relay. The vehicle started up fine and ran fine for a few days. I went to start it this morning and it wouldn't. Battery is good, changed the plugs, wires, starter, cap and rotor within the last 8 months. Someone made a reference to my security system. Are there known electrical problems/interference between security system and other systems?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 gmc jimmy 300.000 km 4.3 vortec .starts ok, even when cold idle smooth but when I accelerate past 2000 rpm it has a complete loss of power. I bought a fuel pressure tester key on 2 seconds 60 psi when I start the vehicle and running 55 psi. I took it on a road test it stays at 55 psi and has a hard acceleration and will go to 60 psi ,and then starts to break up my first question is how can I block off the return line to the tank, there's no rubber hose in any of the connections just steel lines and hard plastic with push connectors, is there a plug that you can buy or how I can block off the return to see if the pump will build pressure to 75 psi to 80 psi will this will tell me whether the pressure regulator is faulty or the fuel pump needs to be replaced.
I have a manual its a Haynes for chevy blazer gmc from 95 to 2004 it says with central sequential fuel injections (csefi) key on engine not running it should be approx 55-61 psi the engines running at idle it should decrease through 3 to 10 psi according to this manual i am within range but i have read on other posts that it should be 60-65 would you say that my 55 psi reading is okay? or should it be 60-65? also when i blocked the return line should i get a reading of 75 or higher? if the reading goes up does that mean that the fuel regulator is faulty? and if it doesn't go up does that confirm that the fuel pump is the issue?
have a 2000 jimmy and the front passengers window will work from master switch but from individaul switch thought it was the switch replaced with new one still have the same problem.
View 4 RepliesEvery once in a while, I hear a sound coming from under my car, possibly the passenger side, that sounds like I am pulling a tin can around. It only lasts about 3 seconds. Sometimes I'll hear it when sitting at a red light, or accelerating from a complete stop. Then the sound disappears. This doesn't happen all the time, but I do feel like I'm hearing it more often as time is going on.
I did a little research online, and some say it could be a rock under my heat panel, but that seems too easy. I don't have any issues with shifting gears or accelerating.
