I want to replace the front and rear dome lights with LED's. I removed the rear plastic cover but can not remove the bulb. The only thing I can grab is the glass bulb and pulled but it will not release. I see a very small black tab at the base of the bulb and tried pushing it in, to the left and right but won't budge.
View 9 RepliesI'm trying to install my leds on the dome lights. The back one was quick and everything but the front dome light cover doesn't want to come off. Only the passenger side one wants to pop out. While the driver side of the dome doesnt wanna budge. It seems like ts actually stuck to the inside of the compartment. It just doesn't wanna pop off all that i getting is scratches.

View 17 RepliesHow to do this without breaking anything? The other day I noticed a spider somehow got into my passenger map light and died in there. I have trim removal tools and stuff but I'm hesitant to go blind on this one for fear of breaking some clips or breaking the whole thing because I missed a screw or something like that. It doesn't seem like you can just take the plastic lens off the light, so I'm not sure how to proceed.
View 1 RepliesOdd thing is now that the iPhone app updated, whenever I lock/unlock my car via the app the front and rear parking lights flash (DRL and tail lights), once when locking and twice when unlocking. That's never happened before. The doors would just lock/unlock with no lights. Found that a bit weird considering all that was changed was the app software, unless an update was pushed to the module in the car and I didn't know. Not really a concern but odd nonetheless...

I have done some vag com mods, and noticed that the front dome lights and one of rear lights in the roof, are dimming very low, is it some kind of convenience stuff or something is messed up?
Done all the coding through long coding so it should be fine, however I think it might be the case (of wrong voltage, I am using leds in interior lighting, or it is due to some comfort options....)
Ok, I'm stumped... I've pulled the housing out for the 2nd row dome/reading light and I'm trying to replace the bulb...
How in the hell do you separate the trim from the housing to replace the freakin' bulb?
I've almost broken the thing in half trying to get access to the bulb... My FSM doesn't give any indication how to separate the housing just that the bulb needs replaced...
Is there any way to keep the front white LED lights on with the driving lights?

For interior lights, the tacked thread mentions 39mm Festoon. However, when I go to Super Bright LEDs and put in my year, make and model (2002 EX), I get 578 LED Bulb - 8 LED Festoon - 44mm for replacement interior bulbs. Which is correct? 39mm or 44mm? Is there that big of a difference between the two? Will either size work?
I just want to make sure I order the right size to fit a 2002 EX. ETA: I want to start with ordering a few each of 5900K and 4300K just to see the difference in the truck and want to make sure I get the right ones. I don't want the Close Encounters look going on inside.

View 1 RepliesDealer did repair work on front bumper. Now, after reinstalling a new front bumper, I noticed water starting to form inside the fog light assembly after it has rained. Dealer says this is normal due to our tropical weather. This has never happened prior to the repair work that was done.
View 12 RepliesRecently picked up a CPO 2013 F-Sport and I've been experiencing a subtle clunking noise over sharp bumps (like raised expansion joints) or potholes at speed. It's a very subtle clunk that comes from the front and rear end, not attributable to any specific corner of the car.The sound completely disappears when I flip it to Sport+ mode, leading me to wonder if the noise is just inherent to the adjustable suspension. Additionally, I didn't notice the noise until after a new set of Michelin Pilot SSs which replaced some cheap dealer tires (Accelera Phis) with very soft sidewalls.
It's not an alarming noise but it does have 53K on the odo so I'm curious as to whether this is indicative of impending bushing/strut issues or if it's normal and other F-Sport owners experience the same noise.
Prior to this I had 2009 STi (low profile tires, stiffer suspension) and never heard any clunking type noise over these same bumps (expansion joints, potholes) so it does have me slightly worried.
How to take it off so I can install LED white lights to make it bright. I already got the rear or middle light whatever you call it. I am afraid to put force on it to break any tab or the light cover it self so that is why I am asking.
View 6 RepliesWife's Tig had an issue with its rear doors. Dome lights would activate only with front doors. If you opened the rear doors only, no dome lights.
VW dealer says they found the issue, I disabled the DRLs via VCDS and now he states that disables the rear door dome lights. He even went so far to say that I had installed an "aftermarket" part in order to disable the DRLs.
Any example for disabled their DRLs and lost the rear door dome lights?
Wife's picking up the Tig now. I'm sure the DRLs are now working. I'll VAG it again to remove the DRLs and see if I lose the rear door dome lights.
I admit to being lazy as this is in the manual, but when I need the light, it's dark outside. Which switch goes in what position to enable the dome light to come on when the driver door is opened?

Two Issues....
1.My rear dome lights work when manually turned on. They do not come on when the door is opened. However, the front dome lights do.
2.The lights on my side mirrors turn blink when using the turn signal, and when hitting the lock/unlock/remote start buttons. They do not work when driving around with my head lights on.
I haven't been needing the A/C til recently due to the heat. When I have passengers in the rear and the A/C is set to just be body flow ( vs. body and feet), the rear blows but is noticeably weaker than the front. When I set it to both body and feet, the rear vents don't have any body flow and it is the same flow as when the rear is just set to feet. I went thru the manual and there doesn't appear to be anything incorrect (I am not in S mode) but the rear is just very weak in general with the controls on full.
