Is it possible to replace the 4GS DRL assembly (that has multiple LEDs) with one that has the single uniform DRL look (like the LS and NX)? Just curious as I saw an NX behind me and couldn't stop staring at its DRLs because of how uniform they looked.
View 4 RepliesI've got a dead module (and the dealer wants over $3k to replace the whole battery). I just read most of the excellent thread on replacing a single module from my battery, and I think I can do it.
Where I'm hesitant is the rebalancing. Back in 2013, it sounds like with $400 worth of chargers it could be done in 6 days. A later post referenced the Reaktor 300W charger. I can get one of those for $121.
I want to replace the front and rear dome lights with LED's. I removed the rear plastic cover but can not remove the bulb. The only thing I can grab is the glass bulb and pulled but it will not release. I see a very small black tab at the base of the bulb and tried pushing it in, to the left and right but won't budge.
View 9 RepliesI bought a Prius persona in 2013 brand-new and in about a year or year and a half later start slowly coming noises from interior plastics and now it's a 2 1/2-year-old car and I have noises from every single plastic that's in the interior. $29,000 car and two years 2 1/2 years after it's just annoying and embarrassing for Toyota. Dealership is refusing to do anything because I'm over 36,000 miles and the warranty that I bought originally with the car is refusing to do anything too. And the dealership wants to charge me per hour just to start and it could take up to the whole day or two days or half a day and it could cost me thousands of dollars on a $29,000 car is two years old, unbelievable.

View 1 RepliesRecently, I changed the brakes on my 2006 Lexus GS300. Everything went real smooth with changing the front and back brakes.
When I took it for a test drive, I immediately noticed a SINGLE knock noise when I pushed on the brakes. Also, I noticed that sometimes when I got +50 mph, I'll hear the knocking noise in a repetitive fashion. If I gently apply pressure on the brakes, the knock noise stops. If I let go of the brake, the knock noise returns. It sounds like the knock noise is coming from the front-driver side area.
What the culprit could be? I've taken the wheel off a few times, took the brake pads off, put them back on, made sure the caliper screws were tight, etc.
Upgrade the single led light that shines down on the center console?
I would like it to be brighter to make it easier to see the drink holder while driving at night.
I just recently purchased a 2011 RX 350 AWD SFP w/ ebony interior for the wife. She loves the car and it drives like a dream.
However lately there's been a weird single beep that occurs every 15 minutes or so. I've tried replacing the key fob battery, making sure no interior/exterior lights are on, and making sure all doors/sunroof are closed. I tried locking the door to see if it works as well but no dice. It doesn't affect anything in anyway as everything is operating as it should.
Recently relocated from Southern California to Central Indiana. Brought with me a 1992 Lexus LS400 in excellent condition and low milage. Problem is; when temps go down to single digits, doors freeze shut and it's a big problem opening. Question... is there something I can apply to the doors or seals to prevent this problem. I believe this is the first freezing temps this vehicle has been exposed to.
View 19 RepliesI have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.4L Engine and recently replaced the Battery and Spark Plugs myself. My car has 55,000 miles and I have had all the normal maintenance performed. The maintenance guide suggested the plugs be replaced at 45,000 miles I waited until 55,000 as I was not having any problems. The last couple of trips to auto shop showed the battery slowing losing the ability to retain a charge so it thought might as well replace now rather than later.
After changing the battery and plugs I went to fill up my Car with Gas and the MPG dropped. Normally when I fill up the car with gas the dashboard of my car would show 420 miles until empty. Recently when I filled up the car it showed 370 miles until empty. I am thinking this is due either to replacing the battery and having the computer reset or I set the gap on one or more plugs wrong. The car is not misfiring so I am thinking it is the replacement of the battery and resetting the computer. I was going to run the care for a couple of tanks and see if the MGP change. I am also going to monitor the mileage and see if it matches the overall MPG.
Is my thinking about the battery and computer resetting correct?
I noticed yesterday that when I push the power tailgate button on the dash to open it, it made a single beep and didn't open. I could only get it to open the tailgate after I unlocked the doors. I also noticed that the key fob wouldn't open the tailgate from outside the vehicle while the doors were locked. I never noticed this before. Is this normal?
View 9 RepliesMy stock DRL/high beam lights officially died this weekend on my 06+ SC430. One side works fine, the other only works in high beam. Since I have to get my car inspected, this won't pass. I know I need to drop the bumper as I did when I replaced the turn signal bulbs, but I'm confused about what bulbs I should be getting. Since I have to drop the bumper for the DRL lights, I figured I should change the fog lights since I'm there.
Is there an LED Fog light replacement you'd recommend from iJDMToy?
What bulb would you put in for the DRL? I do not want to go LED as I actually do use my brights. I would like a whiter color to better match the headlights, if this is possible.
One of the LED lights in the front overhead panel appears to be burned out. How do I replace this? These are the lights up next to the sunroof controls. One switch controls three of these LED's. I'm hoping this is an easy repair.

Read previous post about the clock and battery. But I've replaced the car battery and the clock still isn't working. It gets stuck at whatever time I set it to. And I've also noticed the colons do not blink on the clock.
View 4 RepliesReplacing or cleaning speaker grills. Previous owner has alot of marks on mine and was considering replacing the fabric or cleaning them. The marks are scuff marks so I am not sure that the will come off easy.
View 4 RepliesI put a new battery in my 2007 LS460 and it lit up all kinds of vsc, brake, abs, pcs, stop the vehicle immediately, etc. A 30 minute freeway trip, then 1 hr turned off has not changed anything.
Background: no warnings before the dead battery, but the rear window would reverse when it got part way. I was monkeying with it, and found the weather seal crimped right there. I left the ignition on by mistake. 8 hours later, the 1 year old battery was dead. I hooked up a good charger and it nearly cranked 20 minutes later with the charger connected so I left it until the charger said it was done and unhooked it. There were no dash lights and my voltmeter read something like 3 volts.
I pulled it out and replaced it, which cranked right up and runs great, but has all these errors. I'm having trouble walking right now, but when I get a chance, I'll check the voltage on the new battery in case the car isn't charging, but I would have expected the two long drives yesterday to kill the battery again if it wasn't. I also have a ScanGaugeE which I may use to read and reset the codes.
I need to replace the original driver side HID bulb on my '07 ES350. I intend on doing this myself. I found the thread that listed detailed steps which I'm sure will be very useful.
Any tips as far as getting to the actual bulb? It looks pretty cramped in that area.
I have the adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Any special steps needed for this headlight?
I had the timing belt, idler pulleys, water pump and fan belt replaced by local Lexus dealer three weeks ago and noticed that the coolant reservoir was low to almost empty when I drove home after picking up the car from the dealer.
I thought mechanic has forgotten to fill up the reservoir so I filled the reservoir with Toyota red coolant. After two weeks, the reservoir is empty as I only drive about 200 miles since the service.
Is the head gasket leaking?
The coolant reservoir level was always full until the timing belt service.
I have a GX470 and just had the timing belt replaced. Now my "airbag light" stays on all the time.

View 3 RepliesReplacing license plate bulb on a 3rd gen rx? I tried taking off the interior lining on the rear hatch but no luck. There's access covers for taillight & reverse, but none for license plate light. I also tried "popping" out the plate light cover right above the license plate... don't think they are designed to be popped out.
