I bought a used 2014 F-sport and I took it to the dealer since the brakes are making the screech noise on low speed cold stops. The dealership stated that the brakes and rotors are all aftermarket and won't touch them.
My question (from searching and reading) is, any aftermarket rotors for the F-Sport RWD?
My car is making this noise from the driver's front wheel when applying the brakes and EVEN CLUELESS AND SURPRISINGLY the noise shows up when cruising at low speed (haven't try freeway speed yet) without stepping on the brakes.
This just happened to me tonight, car is around 10,000 miles, I'm going to take it into the dealer to see what the hell is with Lexus. I suspect it might be the rotors and built in brake dusts, I just don't know, but the noise is unusual enough to be concern about.
I doubt it's the built in brake dusts because previously I've not washed my car/ wheel for a longer period of time, but I'm not sure. Could it just be that my rotor is done?
I know the front brakes need a replacement soon, but it shouldn't be my brakes since the noise still shows up even when I don't step on the brake pedal, unless the car brakes for me itself......
I cant take it into the dealer until weekend, hopefully it's safe to drive around within the next 2 days.
I have a 2013 Prius v Three (lowercase v for Prius v not an uppercase and Three not III as Roman numerals were used for the 2010 Prius) model. Around 5k miles into owning my Prius, the brakes make a strange wailing noise in the cold. It doesn't last long and only occurs when it's really cold. Does this mean I'm going to have brake problems in the future? I'm going to insist that the dealership keeps my car overnight and test it early in the morning. A new car shouldn't be doing this!

I would like to know what do i need to grease when changing the brakes also do i need to grease the brake pads shims?
Recently picked up a CPO 2013 F-Sport and I've been experiencing a subtle clunking noise over sharp bumps (like raised expansion joints) or potholes at speed. It's a very subtle clunk that comes from the front and rear end, not attributable to any specific corner of the car.The sound completely disappears when I flip it to Sport+ mode, leading me to wonder if the noise is just inherent to the adjustable suspension. Additionally, I didn't notice the noise until after a new set of Michelin Pilot SSs which replaced some cheap dealer tires (Accelera Phis) with very soft sidewalls.
It's not an alarming noise but it does have 53K on the odo so I'm curious as to whether this is indicative of impending bushing/strut issues or if it's normal and other F-Sport owners experience the same noise.
Prior to this I had 2009 STi (low profile tires, stiffer suspension) and never heard any clunking type noise over these same bumps (expansion joints, potholes) so it does have me slightly worried.
'15 GS350 F-Sport. Had it for a month. There's a noticeable clicking noise coming from the front brakes as I apply the brake.

I've been noticing some kind of noise after a cold start, I'd drive the car a little bit then apply the brakes and it would just make this random noise coming from the front-right side of the car. It sounds like a grinding noise, but I can't really tell. It doesn't create an issue either, I'll let go of the steering wheel and the car doesn't drift in any direction at all, the noise appears but the car is slowing down properly.
The noise disappears though after the 1st time it happens, and would only reappear after you've turned the car off, parked it where it's cold and it would only appear after not using it for at least 2 hours. My dad already took it to the dealership and they said the brakes are perfectly fine.
Heard a warble/screech/grind in Touareg at temperatures of 15 degrees or below. This sound only occurs when the vehicle is cold, the temperature is below 15 F degrees, and you are decelerating from less than 30 mph or so. Doesn't matter if you are braking or not.

They have never been stellar, they never "kicked in" as quickly as on my mom's 2006 Camry but they do work.So I am pulling into a parking spot and I hit the brakes as I am stopping there, and they just didn't kick in, there was a little rattling heard but they didn't really kick in.It happened again today as I was pulling into my drive way, it's not something I can reliably repeat, but it's happened again, and it has me concerned.
2002's are not supposed to have brakes issues of the kind 2007s and later did I thought? What could the cause of this be, the brakes are not totally worn out or else I would hear that all the time...
The other day I had my windows open while backing up and noticed that the brakes make a clicking noise when I initially apply them while in reverse.
This happens every time I'm in reverse and I apply the brakes.
The clicking is only when I first step on the brake, but it happens every time I first step on the brake in reverse.
Maybe this is unique to the LS600hL (2008)? Are brakes on my LS different from brakes on LS460 / LS460L?
I'm having an issue where when the fan is set to the lower fan speeds it will make a high pitched, harmonic chirping noise. I've isolated it to the operation of the fan, so I know it's something to do with the HVAC stuff.
View 2 RepliesI have a 1999 C2500 Chevy Silverado extended cab. On some slow speed stops the ABS kicks in and makes it hard to come to a full stop scary. There are no leaks in the system. The ABS light has come on, on the dash off and on. I thought I saw a post that you can shut off the ABS system not the real fix but safer until I can figure it out.

View 6 RepliesI just replaced my front brake pads and rotors. Car had no squeaking sounds before this. When changing the right front pads and rotor, the set screw that holds the rotor in place snapped on me when I tried to remove it. I drilled out the remaining screw and inserted an easy out / screw extractor to try to remove the broken screw. Screw wouldn't turn/budge and eventually the easy out snapped in half while trying to turn it. Here is where I fear I made a little problem into an even bigger one; I tried to remove the broken easy out by banging the back end (smaller end) of it with a hammer and screwdriver, hoping it would pop out from the front of the hub. No success, and continued using a lot of force to try to remove it from the rear part of the hub. Eventually I noticed the hub area by the back of the easy out bent a little from me using force from the rear to remove the easy out. I stopped there, bent the hub section back to original shape (didn't bend too much to begin with) and sawzawed off the protruding end of the easy out from behind.
After driving a few times I started noticing the squeaking sound coming from the front right wheel, the sound sounds like is in tune/harmony with the wheel rotation. As soon I step on the brakes, the sound stops. I had a similar sounding problem with a rear wheel a long time ago and it ended up being that the bearing needed adjustment. I know the front bearings are pressed in so they can't be adjusted. I am thinking the force used to try to remove the broken easy out damaged something with the hub or bearing or maybe the axle nut.
A couple of times in the past few months I've been listening to music and a shrill sound has come through the system. It doesn't stop and I have to turn if off and back on to get it to go away. This has happened with both Sirius and my iPod. Yesterday the song was showing in the display but no sound was coming out. The volume didn't work. I had to stop/restart the car and it came on.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible for the IS200t brakes to malfunction? My car is only 1600 miles and the brake doesn't feel responsive/snappy. It feels like the car is very heavy to brake anywhere from 10 - 40 mph. I have to step on the brake pedal deep to feel the brakes. I don't feel that pump (I think it's called hydralics) feel when I step on the brakes. Even at 20mphs, the braking doesn't feel sensitive. Is it possible for some brake parts to break. I think one time when I was going down hill, I stepped on it really hard to stop at the bottom at the stop light and it made some weird clamping noise.
View 3 RepliesI have a 1995 Lexus ES300 with 130,000 miles on it. When I reverse, I get a low-pitch growling and as as soon as I apply the brakes by a high-pitch, ungodly screech. This noise is definitely coming from the rear wheel areas. I'm not sure which tire is the culprit (I hear both sides from while listening from both the inside and outside). It happens frequently but is particularly bad on rainy, snowy, misty, or high humidity days. Two years ago I replaced the pads and rotors. At this point, the pads look to have about 40% life on them yet. This problem started happening about a year ago.
My initial thoughts were that it was just rusting because of the frequency on high moisture days. But both noises are way too loud for that. My second speculation was that the emergency brake was catching, but after examining it I think not. I've taken the entire assembly (brakes, rotors calipers, and emergency brake) at each tire apart and looked for any obvious issues that look incorrect. No luck. I've also applied brake quiet with similar results. Now my thoughts are that the low pitch is the rotors being warped. But that doesn't explain the screech and why it only occurs in reverse.
I just got a 2009 lexus gs 350 everything is perfect except when i go into reverse and back up slowly the brakes make a loud squeaking noise!! Its really annoying and embarrassing. I got the rotors resurfaced and nothing.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 RAV4 Sport and it is making a noise..... kinda like a rubbing noise, almost a squeaking noise. It happens when I first start up my car and more when the weather is colder. After a few minutes of driving it stops. It also seems to be louder when I am idling, and quiets down once I begin driving again. It seems to be coming from the right front part (the right side if you are sitting IN the car, the left side if you are standing in front of the car and looking at it) of the engine. I can see a belt down in that area...... is that probably it? I have not ever had any other issues with my car and I have had it since it was new.

View 8 RepliesI have a 4GS F Sport, about 2 months old. For the past few weeks, I've been hearing a whine that goes up and down with the RPMs. It almost sounds like the noise you would hear if you didn't ground an aftermarket radio correctly. Not sure if it was there when I drove it/bought it - I think I would have noticed it, but it seems to be getting louder, about as loud as the sound of the engine (unless I'm really getting on it and the resonator kicks in).
I have a buddy with the exact same car (different color, bought it a couple of weeks after I did) and the whine on his sounds much quieter - still there, just quieter. I've spoken to the dealer twice and have ridden with a tech. We drove mine and a GS Luxury. In the Luxury Edition you hear it but it is quieter, which he says is added insulation (first time I'd heard of any difference like that between the two). The tech said it is likely the alternator which is triple wound to handle all of the electrical requirements and it's just the way the car is.
