I just got my TMPS light on this morning, check pressure all 4 tires are good, 35 PSI each, did not check spare tire, does spare tire had TMPS sensor? what do you think? is one of my sensor is bad?
View 5 Replies2008 RX350 with 52k mile .... It's getting cold even in Atlanta. So I thought the warning light was perfectly normal..
Checked the tire pressure and was around 31psi, so pumped to 35 ish after running 10 min or so thinking it should be good enough. After driving back home, the lights are still on.
I double checked tire pressures and they are between 35 and 35.5 psi still. So I reset the warning light, and it the light won't go away. I think the owner's manual said, if it blinks for one min and stays on, then there's a problem in the sensor.
When I start, it blinks once, then stays on.
If I reset it, it blinks three times and stays on.
What I should do next? I did replace tires about a year ago at the local tire shop, but I don't think it was their fault, as I think the warning light worked fine last winter.
I am getting tired of these idiot lights. Now its the low tire light it comes on every time I drive and the tires are all up to pressure. I cant find a way to reset.
View 14 Replies"VSC OFF" light came on the other day. I took my RX350 to the dealer. The dealer said Heater Element sensor is bad. They didnot have this part in stock. I googled this part. Nothing comes up under that search. I took it to Autozone and the code came up as Mass Air flow sensor. Are both of these same thing?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2008 RX350. When i shut off the engine and pull the key out i hear a constant clicking sound. I dont really know where its coming from but i can kind of pin point it maybe to the windows or door i'm not too sure. I also notice the interior light flickering to the same pattern as the clicking noise.
Second problem - in the middle of the night the alarm goes off! Its the alarm without the horn noise. For some reason i cant switch it off with the fob key. No matter what i do i cant switch it off. So it goes on for about 20 seconds and stops. I just leave the car unlocked after that and it doesnt come back. The alarm noise is coming from the boot....
Third problem Now the navigation screen flickers. Blacks out then the lexus emblem appears then switches back on itself.
I have a 2008 RX350 with 68k on the clock. Received a check engine light for random misfire (P0300) and misfire on Cylinder 4 (P0304), Cylinder ,5 (P0305) ,Cylinder 6 (P0306). Question is what will be causing this to happen. I thought about changing the spark plugs to see if this is possibly the cause. but what else should i be checking?

I have had issues with the sensor for my tires staying lit even after filling the tires with air. I had it turned off at the dealership about 6 months ago and it is now constantly on again.
View 2 RepliesI can't get an accurate reading on my dipstick of my '08 RX 350. I just tried after it sat all night and the oil is over the full marks. I just had the oil changed at Lexus and they used my 6 quarts of Mobil 1 and I told them not top it off to 6.5 quarts because I wanted to.
The tech said he did not add more than what I gave him. I just called Lexus and they said, yes it is difficult to get an accurate reading for some reason. He said check when the oil is warm and has sat for 5 minutes. Any others have trouble reading the oil dipstick accurately?

Have a 2008 RX350. It is our first Lexus product. The dashboard has begun to crack. Now has 4 cracks of various sizes. Contacted Lexus they said too bad. This should not happen to a Luxury vehicle. Sure makes the interior look like crap.

Shortly after purchase cracks began to appear in the dash. Now have 5 cracks and chunks are beginning to fall off. Contacted Lexus. Even though they know that they have a problem with the dashes they will do nothing.

It keeps popping out/up and opening. Quite annoying already and I only had it a few days. Subsequently, it's not hiding a thing in the back.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 RX350 AWD with only 500 miles on it so far and I am starting to get concerned about what seems to be excessive slipping or a delay in response in the trans. Under normal forward driving the trans seems to shift very smooth. The problem occurs under situations where I am coming to a near stop, basically coasting, and then have to accelerate again to continue forward. This could be in a slow moving traffic type situation or when maneuvering through a parking lot. When I try to execute a small increase in speed the engine revs but the trans doesn't respond.
It's as though it's in neutral and unable to decide which gear it should be in. After a 2 to as long as a 5 second delay it finally engages and moves forward. The condition is even worse if I am heading into a slight incline. Once it is engaged everything is fine and the subsequent shifts are very smooth. When starting from a complete stop it works perfectly. I've never had a transmission slip this much in any vehicle. There was one situation where I was almost broadsided because the RX delayed in moving forward.
I realize this is a subjective call but I am trying to determine what level of slipping in the trans is considered normal under the conditions I've described. I have searched and read past threads about issues with the earlier model years but I thought they were resolved by now. I haven't taken the RX in for service yet but I fear I will get the standard - everything is working as designed - answer from my dealership.
All of a sudden, all 3 of my outlets for charging stopped working...can't charge my cell phone!
View 7 RepliesI have a 2008 RX 350 and I am experiencing issues with turning the key ignition and having the steering wheel locked. It gets locked and after several attempts at jimmying the key it eventually starts. My concern is that if I keep this practice up I will damage my key. I have addressed this issue to the dealership and I was naive and trusted them with fixing the problem with my last maintenance visit. Thinking the the problem was solved I started to experience the same problem again. I was first told that it is possible the my key chains are too heavy which could of caused the problem but I lightened the load and still have this problem. I've read about this problem with other people but there doesn't seem to be a solution.
One thing I have noticed is that I tend to experience this problem during the cold weather. During warmer weathers I don't have issues with the key ignition being locked but now that it's cold I am having the problem again (not sure if this has to do with anything). Do I need to change a part out to fix this? I've also read that there can be dirt in the ignition which needs to be cleaned out. Will this work and if so how do I do clean it?
I've had my 2008 RX350 for 2.5 yrs now and just love it! However, over the last 8 months or so, I've been having a strange annoying problem. And a few times, the car has left me stranded. What happens is I turn the key and my first indicator is that the steering wheel doesn't adjust and I know the car is not going to start. However, the radio may work, dash lights work, steering wheel is not locked. It seems entirely dead as if the battery is dead. The car may start 15 min later or may take 3 hours then decide to start.
A strange thing is, is the windows don't work following these episodes which normally signify a battery failure, however the battery is not very old, otherwise performs perfectly and the dealership tested it and say it's good. Because this is so intermittent, they couldn't re-enact the problem so I'm stuck with being stranded again....usually 6 weeks later. The dealership has no answers. I was lucky last night because the car started after 15 min. 6 weeks ago, I was stranded 50 miles away from home where I had to leave the car overnight after trying for 3 hours to get is started.
The next morning, it promptly started. I am at a total loss and it makes me nervous to drive. My husband who works for a chevy dealer and knowledgeable with cars is stumped. He asks the question, could there be a computer malfunction after so many starts which would answer the 6 wk consistency for which this happens? Should we just replace the battery even though we have no reason to suspect?
I just picked up our first Lexus, an 08 RX 350 with 140 km on it and while we love the car, have run into a problem with the power windows and driver's door controls.
None of the power windows in the car work, either from the driver's door or from any other door.
The central locking on the driver's door does not work, but does work from the passenger's door and from the key.
The Memory Seat controls on the driver's door do not work. The controls on the seat itself work fine.
The side mirror controls work fine.
Yes, the battery did get low just before all this happened but we can't do the window reset procedure because none of the other windows work.
I've tested all fuses and they are all fine.
I am suspecting it's some controller or wiring in the door.
I'm the proud owner of a 2008 RX350 with low mileage (40,000 miles - US model). I purchased it a year ago and I haven't had any mechanical problems. However it's been 3 months that I have this rattle from the rear, especially when driving over uneven pavement.
I had the vehicle checked by a local mechanic but he couldn't find any loose part at the exception of the spare tire plastic cover underneath that looked a bit flimsy but he couldn't tell for sure... I even did an oil change at a Lexus dealership and they didn't find anything when they hoisted the car but they didn't look hard either....
I've disconnected the tonneau cover and put the release latches, for the tonneau, in the lock position (towards the front of the vehicle). That didn't solve the problem. Lastly I removed my plate cover and still didn't resolve it.
Anyway, the rattle seems to come from somewhere underneath, around the trunk area and is loud when you hit bump or drive on uneven road and it's driving me crazy!
