I am getting tired of these idiot lights. Now its the low tire light it comes on every time I drive and the tires are all up to pressure. I cant find a way to reset.

The tire pressure warning light came on about a week after the tires were rotated (and I assume filled) at the dealer. My son in law checked all 4 tires and they were above 30. Didn't want to fill anymore since I have the green caps. Light is still on. Is it safe to drive on highway at 75/80 mph? How does this light determine low pressure. Why is it still on? No other problem so hate to go to dealer for this but would like the light to go out.
View 5 RepliesMy tire pressure light has come on - it did once before about 8 months ago. All tire (not flatruns) pressures seem fine (between 34-38 not cold). Tires were rotated by dealer not too long ago. Do I need to reset the pressure light - understand it is somewhere under driver side dash? Previously I think I added air and light went off. But this time tires don't need air.
View 14 RepliesI just bought a 2006 gx that has been lifted about 3" with old man emo springs. The ride height adjustment was removed and the adjustable shocks replaced with a larger non adjustable model.
The rims and tires were also replaced. I think the rims are 21" and the tires 33". The running boards were also removed and the wheel wells opened up a little.
The tire pressure indicator light is on all the time as the new rims and rubber don't link up to the sensor. This I can live with.
I tried it out today on a dirt road (Ophir Pass, Colorado) It worked great but about 200 yards in the check engine, and all three ride/safety system warning lights came on. (stability and slip sensors).
The car performed flawlessly, but the lights remained on even after I got to pavement. I did stop and check, oil, temp, coolant, etc when they came on and all seem to be fine.
I suspect it has something to do with either the oversized tires or the disconnected shock and height systems. How to get the lights to turn off?
My tire pressure light started blinking today. Now I've seen it lit constant when pressures were low, but I've never seen it blink. Checked the owner's manual and it mentions nothing about the cause of a blinking light.
View 14 Replies2008 RX350 with 52k mile .... It's getting cold even in Atlanta. So I thought the warning light was perfectly normal..
Checked the tire pressure and was around 31psi, so pumped to 35 ish after running 10 min or so thinking it should be good enough. After driving back home, the lights are still on.
I double checked tire pressures and they are between 35 and 35.5 psi still. So I reset the warning light, and it the light won't go away. I think the owner's manual said, if it blinks for one min and stays on, then there's a problem in the sensor.
When I start, it blinks once, then stays on.
If I reset it, it blinks three times and stays on.
What I should do next? I did replace tires about a year ago at the local tire shop, but I don't think it was their fault, as I think the warning light worked fine last winter.
Our tire pressure monitor light came on recently. I checked the tire pressures, topped off all four and reset the TPMS button, but no luck. The light blinks, but then stays on. I'm thinking I've got one of two problems. Either the spare has low pressure or the batteries are used up in the sensors. The car is an early 2009. Seven full years seems kind of early for the batteries to be finished in the TPMS units.
View 3 RepliesI bought a 2005 RX330 a couple months ago. It now has 48,500 miles. The following happened 3 times while driving:
The ABS, Brake, and VSC lights come on solid and the Low Tire Pressure light blinks. Things go back to normal after I turn the engine off and start it again.
Dealer wants to see it first before they do anything about it. Problem is that every time it happened the dealer was closed. I live about an hour away and I’m not even sure I want to drive for one hour while these lights are on.
Reading some postings it seems like this was a known issue with the 2004 models (brake light switch). Same problem with a 2005 model?
I have read many of the comments re tire pressure loss but don't know if I have a unique problem or not. I own a 2011 GMC Terrain and my tire pressure is monitored through On Star. Every report I receive tells me my pressure is low in all tires - about the same amount, with little variance. Fortunately I own a air compressor and add air - virtually every 10 days or so.The dealer tells me all tires have small pores which cause leaks and I should go to a tire firm to have nitrogen put in the tires. (He didn't say it would seal the tires but indicated it would solve my problem?) Almost all of the comments on your site do not speak favorably of this. Any thoughts?
View 19 RepliesGot the new tires the other day (Thursday) from a tire chain store. As I was driving off, I noticed the tire light warning turned on and then moments later, it turned off. I thought maybe it was just that. Today (Saturday) the tire light went on again. Brought the car back to tire store and the service manager checked the pressure, the tires were all low pressure, 29-30 psi instead of 35s. He re-inflated them all but the tire light will not turn off. So next step was he used a scanner tool which he attached close to all the tires.
View 6 RepliesI just got 4 new tires installed, running 235-40/18 setup (stock wheels.) On the drive home, the flat tire warning sign came on. I've tried to used the SET button in the glove compartment to deactivate it. That did not work (it flashed one time then stay on).
I check the pressure on all 4 tires and they're all at exactly 40PSI. What the problem could be and how to turn this pos off without going to the dealership?
My low tire pressure light came on all tires are fine including the spare tire. i tired to reset the light but no luck. Its really annoying driving around and seeing that red caution sign
View 11 RepliesThe tire pressure light just came on in a 5 year old tire that I decided to put on the ES350.
The two front tires are 36 lbs, two rear were 32, I adjusted them all to be around 32 and the light is still on, including the spare tire in the trunk.
I decided to put this tire on because it has much better tread than the last. Regardless, I don't know why the light is on.
My TPM light went on coming into work this morning. I did a visual check, everything looked ok. When I got to work got out the old gauge and they all show about 28 psi. The manual states it can go on due to 'natural causes' but doesn't really go into detail. Will it goes on if any/all tires fall below a certain psi? I'll be going back out later to check again to see if one of the tires is going flat.
View 10 RepliesI got the message to "check tire pressure" which I did. All tires were very close to 41 psi and I tweaked the pressures to the recommended indicated on the driver's side door jamb. I did this almost a week ago and the indicator still goes on. I check the tires again and the gauge reads 41 on all 4 tires. Can something still be wrong? Does something have to be reset?
View 4 Repliesthe indicator light is on because of the cold morning. All four tires are a few pounds low and I correct.
Back inside the vehicle, the indicator is still on! I get out to check the spare but, cannot because the valve stem is on top! And, my shirt is all dirty!
At home, I lower the spare and check/add air. Raise spare, put tools away. Now I know how to lower the spare.
Our basic Chevy vans at work let you know tire pressure in each of their four tires.
