I notice that wipers stop in position they were caught when I turn engine off (in the middle across windshield). Is it possible to set them to go down after ignition is off as other (not so luxury cars) do?
View 3 RepliesGot my IS 350 F Sport on 6/30 and I love it... but I found my first fault in the car... and I hope it can be fixed or I am wrong... The wipers just aren't that fast.... and their are very few speeds...
The FAST wipers setting (all the way down, clicking twice) doesn't hold up well against heavy ran...this setting is like Medium-High on my old 2013 Infiniti... But the Infiniti almost had a "VERY HIGH" setting and it was great for down pours... this "high" on the lexus just isn't that good... and quiet frankly IS NOT SAFE.
Also, pushing it down once for the intermediate setting where you can twist for 3 different speeds just isn't enough as well...

So compared to my old Jetta, these wipers are "fairly" slow at the highest seeting, and in a down poor at 70 mph they do not clear the windshield fast enough.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2001 Toyota Sequoia that started having problems with the intermittent setting on the wipers. It is now to the point that it runs just like the slow wiper setting with no delay, it also doesn't "park" the wipers when turned off. I found that with the ignition in ACC position the wipers work perfectly (intermittent works and wiper "parks" properly when turned off) but when the engine is running I only have a Low or High wiper speed and no "Parking". I have researched online and most say to replace switch or wiper motor but both work with engine off so I am wandering if it is being overpowered with the engine running.

1) How do I set the doors to automatically lock when I leave the vehicle?
2) Also, at night when I open the driver's door, the panel on the door is NOT illuminated making it difficult to unlock the door for passengers. This is a true safety issue. How can this be fixed and NO I do not want the door unlock operation buy handle touch or remote to unlock all doors.

2015 RX350 with Nav. Is there a way to disable the "auto" function of the intermittent wipers to gain manual control when in intermittent mode?. With the rain sensor and speed sensor, often even with the intermittent control at the fastest setting, the wipers don't swipe often enough. Especially when driving at slower speed or waiting at an intersection, the intermittent swipe takes so long that I must manually turn on the wiper to low speed. This makes no sense to me. Just because I'm driving slow or at an intersection, Lexus thinks I don't need clear vision?
This is the first vehicle with rain and speed sensing wipers and it will be my last. This is not only annoying it's a safety hazard.
Is there a user configurable setting to change this? Or is it something the dealer can disable?
I dropped off my 2015 RX450h at the dealership yesterday because the rain sensing wipers no longer sensed rain. Late in the afternoon the service writer called and told me that they ordered a new windshield because the sensor is part of the windshield?
Sounds strange. I've heard that some aftermarket windshields were interfering with sensor's ability to sense but never an OEM windshield.
I have a buddy with an '87 Taurus. V6 3.0 Vulcan Engine. He is having the hardest of time trying to set the ignition timing.The torque strut "roll restrictor "is in the way.

View 14 RepliesI just purchased my first VW about a month ago. (Golf tsi white auto). I love the way the car drives/handles. But I was surprised because at just under a 1000 miles the engine light went on. Took it to VW service to check it out. They had to keep it for a few days to do tests with the main VW center. I got the car back without much explanation other than they put in an O2 sensor.
No engine light now for a couple weeks. They also noticed that my wheels are missing 4 lug nut covers (not a big deal). For some reason I am just starting to notice the green brake light on when I first turn on the ignition prior to setting in reverse which disappears upon reverse or drive. I assume this is normal... Question: should I be concerned about this engine light O2 sensor issue?
Sometimes when I take the key out of the ignition, the wipers move up slightly. I notice the passenger's blade most as it parks a bit higher than the driver's blade, so when they move up the right one is more obvious. They don't move a full cycle, just up about an inch and stop.

Replaced the ignition switch and wires but problem persist if the engine is cold. If engine is warmed up, like after a drive, the wipers and turns will not work with ignition off. Let it cool down and Bingo---they work. Where do I start looking for the source of the problem?
View 1 RepliesEvery couple of days I'll notice the wipers sort of "twitch" up the windshield about " when I turn the car off. They don't go back down until the car is started and rolling forward. I'm not sure if there's a particular speed that triggers this, but it would have to be less than 5 mph.
The wipers seem to work fine. My local service department suggested that the wipers might be in "service" (a.k.a. "winter") mode. Based on what the owner's manual says about winter mode I'd have to disagree. The wipers move just the smallest amount.
So I have a 99 F250SD, earlier this year my wipers started going on by themselves, switch didn't seem to effect them, wouldn't turn off with the switch but would with the ignition off. Then they stopped working all together along with the washer. Checked fuses and relays, put a new switch in and still no dice. When I move the switch the wiper/washer relays do not click at all.
I've tried tracing the wires but haven't been able to find any issues there. The gem is as clean and new looking as one made yesterday. Is there a pinout test I can run on the plug into the motor? or which color wires coming out of the fuse box to check? I'd really like to get this fixed so I can drive my truck this winter.
I drive a 2012 E, and this is not about mine. It's a buddy whom has a 2013 or 2014 (I think all of the fan hardware is identical). His fan stopped working on the three lowest settings, but still blows fine on the highest setting.
Perhaps resistors knock the current down for the lower settings and they have failed? Just a wild guess....
I've got a 2010 Jetta TDI Sportwagen and the blower fan stopped working (again).
About 3 months ago it stopped working on the 1-3 setting and 4 worked fine. So I searched these forums and found the resistor pack was blown. Replaced it with the ~$30 official VW part and it worked fine until last week.
Now all settings are not working. I ohm'd out the resistor pack and they appear to be fine. I put a current limited 12v supply on the fan and it spun up without a problem. I checked the voltage coming from the car to the fan connector and it was at 0v.
From reading the forums this tends to point to a faulty switch. If it is a fault switch then why does the AC light turn on when I switch from 0 to 1?
My blower fan will not run on setting 1. on 2 3 and 4 it will work but not on the lowest setting. I replaced the relay and it still doesn't work. I have a 2010 f150 with the 2v 4.6 .....

This morning I went out and found the old iPhone I had in my console was missing - the usb cord was strewn across the drivers seat for good measure. So as I'm here changing passwords to anything that may have been connected to that device - I'm wondering if there's a setting that can automatically lock the doors if I happen to forget...
