My Mazda MPV suddenly won't start. When I turn the car on and try using the electronic locks, that "locking" sound sounds very weak and the car is unable to lock or unlock itself. I tried jumping it, and I took the battery to an auto shop which said that battery was fine. I recall that last time I drove the car, the O/D light was blinking, which I found odd. So, what's wrong with my car?

View 19 RepliesToday I went to the gas station and after I gased up and turned the car on my car started idling rough, almost to the point of cutting out. I started out on the road and my check engine light started blinking. After some time it stopped and just stayed on. The whole front end shakes pretty bad when at idle. The car has trouble accelerating till roughly 35-40 mph then seems to ride ok. I'm not very car knowledgeable, but I do take care of my car. I know I need to replace some of my hoses and spark plugs soon, but am worried that it may be more serious.
What I would like to know is: 1. What could possibly cause these issues and 2.
2003 Mazda Protege
So i just bought a b4000 pickup 5spd .. Anyway the truck has eletrical 4x4 with manual hubs. When i turn the switch nothing happens. The 4wd/4wd low lights both flash 6x then go off then flash again while running , driving, koeo, anytime like an obd1 check engine light code flashing. Anyway i checked the wiring for the 4wd switch no power, went to the fuse interior no pwr, went to the engine fuse box power. You don't hear the transfer case engage at all as well.
View 5 RepliesI took our '99 Mazda Protege in for a clutch replacement. The mileage is over 150k. The car was returned with the air bag light blinking and the cruise control and horn deactivated. All were fine beforehand. The shop eventually admitted that they could have broken the clockspring during the repair. They are going to get back to me tomorrow with a quote for the repair and they told me they are going to "work with me" on the cost. I don't understand why I should pay for anything associated with the clock spring repair. Another mechanic told me they had to secure the steering during the clutch replacement and probably forgot to do it, furthermore they should cover 100% of the repair.
View 19 RepliesI changed my plugs a few days ago on my 96' Taurus GL 3.0LI checked under my hood to check the recommended gap size and it said .42 to .46.. I went with .46. after putting them in i started the car up just fine, but later in the day i noticed when I came to a stop at a red light my car would sputter and my check engine light would start blinking. When I'd accelerate and drive it again everything would clear up and the light would stop blinking. I didn't change the wires, just the plugs in case you were wondering but I am unsure of how much that would influence my problem. Today after work i had a little trouble starting my car. After a few tries it started and my exhaust smelt rich in gasoline. Did i gap them too much? Should i get new plugs again and regap them? should i buy new wires also?Is my ignition coil going bad?
View 19 RepliesI have a 2002 Mazda tribute, and I was driving down the road yesterday when I heard a loud pop. After, the check engine light started blinking, the lights and electricity started struggling, and I hear a loud thwack thwack thwack sound when I step on the gas. This sound gets louder and faster the more I hit the gas. When I checked under the hood, the serpentine belt looks fine, and there is no visible damages but when the car is running it sounds like I have no exhaust system it is so loud.
What could have happened and where I should start working? Family and friends have thrown out a few things but I do not want to start taking things apart if If they are not the problem.
I have an 02 GTI w/ 1.8t and 5spd. I was in the drive through and all of the sudden the ABS, ASR, and seatbelt lights came on and the battery light is randomly blinking. I got home turned the car off and went to restart it and when I turn the key nothing happens. I should also mention I recently have 2 cels for p0701 lean condition and bank 1&3 misfires that developed after I replaced a bad injector. Where do I even start?

If the theft light keeps blinking it wont start. Other times no blinking light and it fires right up. What to check next.

Timing is correct as far as i can tell, 12 volts at both wires for the ignition coil
Battery is good, alt is good...
I had my dealership install a car starter when I purchased my 2014 Santa Fe a year and a half ago. I noticed that this blue flashing light constantly flashes up by the rearview mirror. It looks like an anti theft device which it isn't' and really bothers me especially at night because it lights up the whole dash. How to disable this and still keep the remote functional?
View 2 Repliesi have a 99 f150 with a 4.6 that will not start. it has sat for a while now. when i go to turn the key to turn it on it cranks and cranks and cranks but wont start. the theft light blinks like crazy and the odometer reads dashes. There is also a relay which i do believe is the pcm relay that clicks like crazy. when the relay clicks and the key is first turned to the on position the fuel pump will turn on and off as the relay clicks.
We tried putting a scan tool to it to try to pull a code and the scan tool wont connect. I do believe its the pats system kicking, but i also think its related to this relay clicking like a mother, maybe a bad connection in the junction or something. But I am not really sure how to try to start and find the problem. i have also tried replacing the relay that clicks and the new relay does the same thing.
I have a 2007 prius and when I pass 30 miles per hr the slip indicator light start blinking and a beeping sound. What is going on and I have a vsc light on too

I'm wondering if this is a starter issue because the battery seems to be fine (can turn on radio, lights are working). The strange thing i noticed was that the light on the rear windshield defroster was blinking. I haven't turned that on in months.
Also, is this covered under warranty ? I bought the extended warranty when i purchased the vehicle in 2008. If i'm not mistaken I'm still covered under it. Is there a place (online) where i could check my extended warranty period ?
Took a 2 hour trip got of the interstate came to a stop light and the OD light starting blinking cut the truck off at the light fired it back up shifted in every gear like normal drove a little ways stopped at a light and OD started blinking again cut truck off back on light. Went away shifted great threw all the gears.
View 6 RepliesMy 2002 Windstar SEL has been giving me a fit and I`m not getting any codes as to why. Here`s the 2 main issues. Clicking when i go to start up in a.m. if it`s below 50 degrees. ( Battery has been checked and all is o.k. or so I was informed). As long as it`s warm it starts fine every time. Also,it seems like the least bit of wet on the underside will cause it to spit and sputter and the check engine light will start blinking until it sits and dries for a while. (A very shallow puddle less than 6 inches deep at low speed or even the automatic car wash that sprays the undercarriage).
View 2 RepliesI recently changed the heater core on my 99 F-150 which meant i had to remove the dash. I got everything back together turned the key to start it and nothing it wouldn't start it wont even turn over. All the electronics come on like normal it just wont start. I have chased every wire every connection into madness. It has an aftermarket remote start someone said that would have bypassed the PATS but i dont know about that the theft light just started blinking.

View 6 RepliesI was driving home tonight and stopped at stop sign. I took off and truck died and coasted to a stop. I tried to start but all it does is theft light blinks really fast and will not turn motor over. I tried to reset pat by following procedure I found on internet. Still no start. I then unhooked battery cables and left off for 15 minutes then hooked up but still no start and blinking theft light. I also tried spare key and still no start. What else can I do. I had it towed to place that just bulletproof my truck. Truck has been running great. I did not want to leave it on the side off road in the middle of country all night.
View 3 RepliesI just recently got handed a 2005 ford f250 6.0 PSD from my older brother, new to the whole diesel game, well all of a sudden as i was driving down the road about 65 mph, trucks RPMS shoot to about 4K and tow haul light starts blinking as i start pulling over (still in drive of course) i realize i can't move anymore the trucks rpm just rev. In all gears it does not move i moved 1-3 D and R and nothing truck just revs. i had my father get under the truck as i shift from gear to gear and the linkage is moving back and forth on the transmission as i put it in reverse the reverse lights still pop on, I'm new to the diesel game...
