I had my dealership install a car starter when I purchased my 2014 Santa Fe a year and a half ago. I noticed that this blue flashing light constantly flashes up by the rearview mirror. It looks like an anti theft device which it isn't' and really bothers me especially at night because it lights up the whole dash. How to disable this and still keep the remote functional?
View 2 RepliesMy girlfriend has a 2014 Santa Fe Sport, and she usually leaves the headlights "on" because they turn off shortly after she locks her car or whatnot. For some reason, they don't ALWAYS turn off. Probably 30% of the time they stay on. Well, it was super cold this weekend and he car wouldn't start remotely, so we took mine instead. But lo and behold, her battery is completely dead.
Is there something that would cause these to stay on only sometimes? She's going to start turning on and off, but the intermittent part seems odd to me.
This morning during cold start up I noticed my check engine light was on constantly, I was able to get a OBDII scanner from a friend and perform a scan after work and brings up P0116, google search says HYUNDAI - Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range/Performance.
I did notice the radiator fan seemed to be running all the time. I had a look at the coolant level and it's near the full level line (green color if that matters). My questions is it safe to still drive it to the dealer (30 km away)? Would this be part of the powertrain warranty?
Since my wife is out of town i took her car as I did not want to cause any damage.
2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport - 2.4 AWD - mileage is at 67,000 km.
Any way to set the seat heaters to turn on when the car is remote started?

Am I doing something wrong, leaving a door not shut all the way etc.... Are there any parimiters where it won't remote start and just "beep" the horn?
My wife had the single button Ford remote start installed by the dealer on her '09 F-150 about a month ago. Ever since, the dome light in the truck doesn't turn on when a door is opened, doors unlocked, etc., but I can still manually turn it on by moving the slider. Is this normal or did they screw something up on install? If it's normal, why?

View 14 RepliesWe just swapped engines on a 2014 Santa Fe Sport but it won't start now. Old engine had 70k miles, new one has 25 k miles. Wondering if the swap could have tripped a fuel shutoff switch or something simple. Its not throwing any codes, but I think it has to run first before it would give a reading. Turns over but wont start. Previous engine ran but had internal lower engine problems and metal in the oil. There is plenty of spark but it doesn't seem to be getting fuel. We hear the fuel pump prime so we know that works.
View 9 Replies3 weeks ago, I purchased a 2014 Prius model 4 and had a remote starter installed at the dealer. So far, the car has been at the dealer 3 times and they cannot figure out why the remote start will not work. When you press the lock button twice then the 3rd time for 3 seconds, the lights flash and you can watch as the dash lights begin to come on, then everything shuts down. The dealer contacted Toyota because this is all a warranty issue and was instructed to reprogram the computer which they did. After doing so they received an error code that a door, hood or trunk was open, but none were. They checked all the door, hood and trunk latch electronics and all were fine. Personally, I feel I must have received a faulty remote starter, but Toyota so far seems unwilling to replace it.

The two honks are usually when there is a door left open when you click the lock button two times but all of my doors were locked. After I started the truck with the key and took it out to go run a errand I noticed the check engine light turned on. Could this be connected or just a coincidence?

I finally saw idatalink released a firmware for their ADS-ALCA bypass module that allows you to add a remote start that is triggered by the factory keypad. It was a fairly easy installation and it started up right away. I do have car installation experience, but I didnt find the installation to be that difficult in general.

Yesterday had a issue with my new truck, (less than 2500 miles), pulled up to a stop sign and the low oil pressure warning light came on and truck just died and wouldn't start back up, checked oil and put some in and it still wouldn't start, called Ford roadside asst. and right before they showed up it started. View 4 RepliesI bought my 2013 Sonata GLS back in October w/ 15k miles on it. For Christmas, I got an OEM Hyundai remote start (part # 3S056-ADU02). I took it to a local parts shop to get it installed. Turns out, I needed the jumper harness so I ordered that and they installed it today.
Now for the bad part - everything is installed, and the remote works fine. However, when I go to start the car, it stays started for 2 seconds, beeps, and cuts off and tries several times before giving up. The audio shop said to take it to the dealer to get it programmed, but I took it there and they said it would be $150 to program it. BUT they don't know if that's the problem or not. I've went through the forums and I see nothing about programming. I have found posts with problems similar to mine, but I can't find an answer. Why would it need programmed if everything else on the remote works? How can I make it stay started?
I have a 2002 Prius with 143,000 miles on it. All bars on the fuel gauge blink on and off constantly, the seat belt reminder, open door warning, and headlight indicator do not work. I checked all fuses & load tested the battery.
View 3 RepliesThe 2012 SF I bought last weekend has a sticker on the radiator brace near the left head light stating the vehicle has a remote start function and there is a blue button with a key symbol on the fob that (I think) is supposed to make it work, but I have yet to get the remote start to operate. What's the secret? Is there a selection in the ECU that enables/disables it? Do I need to cross my eyes when I push the button? This would be great to have on cold or hot mornings - if I can get it to work.

Lately in an intermittent fashion my TPMS indicator light will blink when I first start the car. It goes away within a minute of driving (might even go away if I just idle but I am always in a rush so I don't know...). At first I thought perhaps it was the cold weather but it happens even on warm days. I've checked all the pressures all around and they are good (not even borderline).
In the manual it says a malfunction is when the light blinks and then stays on. What would blinking then non persistent light mean? Communication issues?
For 2015 we had the ability to use our key fob to start our cars. I did this nearly everyday, doing the 1 press pause 2 press pause 3 press and hold.. this used to work, suddenly it no longer works.
Since this featured was not even featured in our manuals, I doubt I'd find a solution there. Did Lexus zap my car and ability to start it, remote app from phone works fine.
2013 Sonata Limited. I requested that a remote starter be added to a vehicle with keyless ignition. They mentioned that it can't be done, as I would need an extra keyfob that would sit inside the car at all times, and that if I leave the car unlocked, anyone could get in, start it, and drive off with it. That seemed ridiculous to me, so I called another dealer to ask and got essentially the same answer, saying it was not available yet for keyless ignitions.

The factory fobs still work fine.
Am I stuck going back to Hyundai to get the remote starter fobs fixed ?
