For 2015 we had the ability to use our key fob to start our cars. I did this nearly everyday, doing the 1 press pause 2 press pause 3 press and hold.. this used to work, suddenly it no longer works.
Since this featured was not even featured in our manuals, I doubt I'd find a solution there. Did Lexus zap my car and ability to start it, remote app from phone works fine.
Tonight the wife when she got home set the car's alarm off and after she turned it off none of our remote starter fobs will function (lock, unlock, alarm..)
The factory fobs still work fine.
Am I stuck going back to Hyundai to get the remote starter fobs fixed ?
My trunk no longer unlock when I press on my remote, on the button inside the car or the button on the trunk. I have to open it with the key. My doors still works fine. What the problem could be?
View 4 RepliesIf I leave my 2013 RX parked for longer periods (5-14 days) w/o starting it does not want to recognize my key for starting oftentimes. I end up having to remove from my pocket and hold it up to the ignition button so it recognizes and then it will start.
I have had the battery checked in the remote and it is fine. The dealer tells me this can happen as the vehicle battery can run down in that amount of time since there are electronics within the vehicle still functioning that will draw from the battery.
I have no problem if I drive the vehicle every day or even every 2-3 days. Vehicle only has about 6,000 miles on it.
I bought my 2013 Sonata GLS back in October w/ 15k miles on it. For Christmas, I got an OEM Hyundai remote start (part # 3S056-ADU02). I took it to a local parts shop to get it installed. Turns out, I needed the jumper harness so I ordered that and they installed it today.
Now for the bad part - everything is installed, and the remote works fine. However, when I go to start the car, it stays started for 2 seconds, beeps, and cuts off and tries several times before giving up. The audio shop said to take it to the dealer to get it programmed, but I took it there and they said it would be $150 to program it. BUT they don't know if that's the problem or not. I've went through the forums and I see nothing about programming. I have found posts with problems similar to mine, but I can't find an answer. Why would it need programmed if everything else on the remote works? How can I make it stay started?
I can unlock the door(s) of my 98 Explorer using the key remote and door switches but locking them with the key remote and door switches no longer work. What could it be?
View 7 Replies2009 Impala, 54k, factory installed remote start will no longer start the engine.This problem just started with both remotes.When used in close proximity of the car this is what happens: 1st-attempt-I hear a short humming noise and lights flash, 2nd-attempt a click and lights flash, 3rd attempt (and there after)-no sound and no flash of lights.The remote lock/unlock feature with horn beep and lights flash works fine on both remotes.The car starts every time by key with no problem.Any thoughts of what may be wrong?

View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Recently, I had to replace the fuel pump. Prior to that it had a gasoline smell and sometimes hesitated to start, like air was getting into the fuel lines. After I replaced the fuel pump, it was fine for about a week. Now, it hesitates to start like before I replaced the fuel pump. By this, I am saying that it cranks over (so no starter or battery issues), but takes excessively long to fire up. Once it is running, it runs nice (not rough) and without hesitation on acceleration. I suspect a vacuum leak.
Today, the cruise control no longer works, as in it will not engage when I depress the on/off button on the turn signal lever arm. I suspected a fuse may have blown, but cannot locate a fuse labeled 'cruise control' anywhere on the vehicle.
I got the 2013 sonata gls, 5700 kms.
I live in southern Ontario, in Canada and the weather is starting to drop here in the mornings and nights.
The mornings are not 0-3 degrees Celsius and at night a little bit colder.
I have notice that when I start my car in the morning it seems like the engine takes a little big longer to start. It takes no longer than 2 seconds to actually start, it just sounds like its struggling a bit more.
I notice once i drive the car for a bit, park and then start the car again it seems like it fires up quicker and without ease.
Is this due to the drop in weather? or something else at play here.
Also it seems like in the mornings when the car has been sitting for like 9 hours, after it starts the engine sounds louder than usual.
IHeart Radio has stopped working. Getting a connectivity error. Pandora works great.
Verizon Samsung S5 and a 2014 ES 300h. Phone has Android 4.4.4 with the latest Lexus Enform app. I've deleted and repaired the bluetooth connection and reloaded the Lexus app on my phone.
Also, bluetooth will randomly disconnect when making calls occasionally.
I just recently purchased a 2013 Elantra Coupe, and the Engine Start Stop button will not light up anymore. The small LED above the "Engine Start Stop" lettering still lights up blue or amber if it's in ACC or ON mode, but the lettering itself no longer lights up.
I'm not sure if it's supposed to stay lit while driving, but I noticed it started to flicker at various rates, and then eventually it stayed lit. Now, it's not lighting up at all. I'm wondering if there's a fuse anywhere that could be associated with this or anything I could check myself before taking it to the dealer. I haven't had a single issue getting the car to start with the button, just wondering what could be causing the lettering on it to not light up any longer.
I have a 2007 Limited and the remote start function does not want to work. I press the correct sequence on the key fob and I hear a click but no "starter" activity.
View 7 RepliesI have my 2011 and all of a sudden my car stopped being able to sense it in the car or outside the car. The lock and unlock function still works which is puzzling, and when I tapped it to the power button in effort to start the car, the car still does not start and says it can't locate the key. I dropped a 85lb weight on it the other week at the gym but it appears there wasn't any damage when I took the key apart, and it was working fine up till now. The spare works fine, but I'm just hoping I don't have to buy another key...
Also noticed this is the same part number, and since i only need the new circuit board I'm assuming, I wonder if its the same size as the prius one...
3 weeks ago, I purchased a 2014 Prius model 4 and had a remote starter installed at the dealer. So far, the car has been at the dealer 3 times and they cannot figure out why the remote start will not work. When you press the lock button twice then the 3rd time for 3 seconds, the lights flash and you can watch as the dash lights begin to come on, then everything shuts down. The dealer contacted Toyota because this is all a warranty issue and was instructed to reprogram the computer which they did. After doing so they received an error code that a door, hood or trunk was open, but none were. They checked all the door, hood and trunk latch electronics and all were fine. Personally, I feel I must have received a faulty remote starter, but Toyota so far seems unwilling to replace it.

Just bought a CPO 2013 ES300h... when I lock the door using the remote the lights DO NOT FLASH. All other cars I've used have had this feature providing you feedback the car is locked. Is this normal?

Recently, I've noticed it takes longer to start. The motor will crank at regular speed but will take longer to start. It's always taken longer than a single rotation from day one but lately it's gotten really bad.
Even more recently, I hear a ticking noise under load, or even sometimes at idle. It sounds like an exhaust leak or worn lifter noise. Could these somehow be connected? What this could be?
I'm a new Lexus owner and bought a new 2013 ES300h a month ago. I've noticing that when I start the car everyday, it shakes a little bit (along the body direction) when the engine suddenly starts. You could hear the engine sound clearly as well.

They mentioned that it can't be done, as I would need an extra keyfob that would sit inside the car at all times, and that if I leave the car unlocked, anyone could get in, start it, and drive off with it. That seemed ridiculous to me, so I called another dealer to ask and got essentially the same answer, saying it was not available yet for keyless ignitions.
