Tonight the wife when she got home set the car's alarm off and after she turned it off none of our remote starter fobs will function (lock, unlock, alarm..)
The factory fobs still work fine.
Am I stuck going back to Hyundai to get the remote starter fobs fixed ?
For 2015 we had the ability to use our key fob to start our cars. I did this nearly everyday, doing the 1 press pause 2 press pause 3 press and hold.. this used to work, suddenly it no longer works.
Since this featured was not even featured in our manuals, I doubt I'd find a solution there. Did Lexus zap my car and ability to start it, remote app from phone works fine.
I just recently purchased a 2013 Elantra Coupe, and the Engine Start Stop button will not light up anymore. The small LED above the "Engine Start Stop" lettering still lights up blue or amber if it's in ACC or ON mode, but the lettering itself no longer lights up.
I'm not sure if it's supposed to stay lit while driving, but I noticed it started to flicker at various rates, and then eventually it stayed lit. Now, it's not lighting up at all. I'm wondering if there's a fuse anywhere that could be associated with this or anything I could check myself before taking it to the dealer. I haven't had a single issue getting the car to start with the button, just wondering what could be causing the lettering on it to not light up any longer.
My trunk no longer unlock when I press on my remote, on the button inside the car or the button on the trunk. I have to open it with the key. My doors still works fine. What the problem could be?

View 1 RepliesI had a remote start installed on my santa fe and initially it worked great. Recently it stopped working correctly. The car still starts but my heat/defrost will no longer turn on. I have tried every combination possible but when I get in the car the heat is turned completely off and will only turn on when I put the key in the ignition and manually start the car.

View 5 RepliesIf I leave my 2013 RX parked for longer periods (5-14 days) w/o starting it does not want to recognize my key for starting oftentimes. I end up having to remove from my pocket and hold it up to the ignition button so it recognizes and then it will start.
I have had the battery checked in the remote and it is fine. The dealer tells me this can happen as the vehicle battery can run down in that amount of time since there are electronics within the vehicle still functioning that will draw from the battery.
I have no problem if I drive the vehicle every day or even every 2-3 days. Vehicle only has about 6,000 miles on it.
My 2013 Elantra doesn't come with a key lock for the trunk; the only way to open it is via the key fob or the manual release under the driver's seat.
Is there any way to disable the key fob from opening the trunk, so that only the manual release will work? I'd want to do this for security reasons. My old car had a "valet switch" in the trunk, but the Elantra doesn't have it. I don't know if there's a mechanism I can unplug, or if removing the trunk fuse from the interior fuse panel would do the trick...
I got the 2013 sonata gls, 5700 kms.
I live in southern Ontario, in Canada and the weather is starting to drop here in the mornings and nights.
The mornings are not 0-3 degrees Celsius and at night a little bit colder.
I have notice that when I start my car in the morning it seems like the engine takes a little big longer to start. It takes no longer than 2 seconds to actually start, it just sounds like its struggling a bit more.
I notice once i drive the car for a bit, park and then start the car again it seems like it fires up quicker and without ease.
Is this due to the drop in weather? or something else at play here.
Also it seems like in the mornings when the car has been sitting for like 9 hours, after it starts the engine sounds louder than usual.

The key fobs just stopped working. Car was supplied with two fobs and both stopped working. Replaced the batteries to no avail. Press any of the buttons = light on the key works but the car ignores it totally. (even right next to it)
I can use the key for entry / lock /,alarming, but it's really not cricket for such a fine automocar.
A few months ago I'm key fobs stopes working the I switched out the batteries and still no progress. What it could be?
View 3 Replies I replaced the batteries in my key fob yesterday, and now it doesn't work. My car has no accessible exterior key holes, due to the trunk lock being seized as long as I've owned it, as well as the drivers door lock having the exterior plastic cap(is there a lock still hiding under there?) So instead, I hopped in through the sunroof since I had left it open, and once I opened the door the alarm went off. I disconnected the battery, and when I reconnect it, the immobiliser resets. I assume that my fobs have reset, so with there being no exterior locks and no fobs programmed, what should I do? The car is not driveable at all right now, and I can't even close the sunroof in case it rains.

My Mom used my Ex to take the kids to the park today. When I went to unlock it with the fob.... NOTHING! I thought maybe a bad battery, but when I got home and tried the other one it didn't work either. Is there a fuse or something that would have gone bad? Everything else in the truck is working fine except for the remotes.
View 13 RepliesI have a problem with my 2007 Prius. The low beam and both FOBS for the car quit working at the same time. It worked the previous day as always, then the next morning, the car would not automatically unlock and had to use the FOB mechanical key for entry. Then I noticed that the headlights (LOW)would not turn on, but the high beams worked fine. Just an FYI I have changed the headlights on this car at least 3 times in the past 4 years.
View 7 RepliesI bought my 2013 Sonata GLS back in October w/ 15k miles on it. For Christmas, I got an OEM Hyundai remote start (part # 3S056-ADU02). I took it to a local parts shop to get it installed. Turns out, I needed the jumper harness so I ordered that and they installed it today.
Now for the bad part - everything is installed, and the remote works fine. However, when I go to start the car, it stays started for 2 seconds, beeps, and cuts off and tries several times before giving up. The audio shop said to take it to the dealer to get it programmed, but I took it there and they said it would be $150 to program it. BUT they don't know if that's the problem or not. I've went through the forums and I see nothing about programming. I have found posts with problems similar to mine, but I can't find an answer. Why would it need programmed if everything else on the remote works? How can I make it stay started?
New batts in remotes (remotes do nothing but do start the car when inserted in dash).
12 volt batt removed and tested good at autozone.
Tried the "key" button under steering wheel in both positions still not working..
Checked all fuses under the hood, all OK ...all other items in the car seem to work..
None of the exterior black buttons work..
I have a 2013 F250 with a 6.2L gas motor, 50k miles.
Recently, I've noticed it takes longer to start. The motor will crank at regular speed but will take longer to start. It's always taken longer than a single rotation from day one but lately it's gotten really bad.
Even more recently, I hear a ticking noise under load, or even sometimes at idle. It sounds like an exhaust leak or worn lifter noise. Could these somehow be connected? What this could be?
2013 Sonata Limited. I requested that a remote starter be added to a vehicle with keyless ignition. They mentioned that it can't be done, as I would need an extra keyfob that would sit inside the car at all times, and that if I leave the car unlocked, anyone could get in, start it, and drive off with it. That seemed ridiculous to me, so I called another dealer to ask and got essentially the same answer, saying it was not available yet for keyless ignitions.
