My brake lights on the drivers side do not come on when braking, however, the regular nighttime lights are fine. Does this mean the probem is the brake light switch? The right side brake lights are fine. Where is the brake light switch and how do I access it?
View 2 RepliesEvery time I brake I hear a clunking noise, it happens right before I stop completely. For some reason it does not make the noise when it has recently rained or the car is wet, the noise is coming from the front drivers side. I had a mechanic check out my suspension, and he said everything was fine. I am thinking it could be a bushing, but am not sure.

1 week ago $2 tire pressure gauge fell through the slots on the left side of the trunk inside, I have tried to reach it, but to no avail(touched wires, which goes to the rear/stops driver's side several times).
Today I noticed one of my side markers was not working, I turned on lights, tried to change bulb in it and as of now neither marker nor left front light(that small upper bulb in bigger bulb slot) nor rear lights work.
Low and high beam are ok on both sides.
Recently replaced 2 burned out brake lights on the drivers side. Discovered brake lights still don't work. Passenger side works fine. Exchanged bulbs but no luck. Brake lights still don't work. All running lights work as well as backup lights and turn signals. Just can't get the two drivers side lights to work.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport and after a brake job I noticed that while under braking at slow speed there would be a grinding sound on the front left. I replaced the brakes and wheel bearings the first time. After a while I ended up replacing the caliper itself but it still grinds. I don't notice any wheel shaking, pulling and it hasn't locked up although once I did notice a some smoke under hard braking but only once. I also don't hear any grinding while not braking.
View 5 RepliesThe brake light on the driver side doesn't work. The center window brake light works as does the passenger's side brake light. My first thought was the bulb, but when I just have my tail lights on it works just fine. From what I can tell it's obviously the same blub so I don't know where to go from here. The fuse that controls the brake light also controls all of the brake lights so I don't think that would be it since only one side is out. Trying to avoid going to the dealership if I can.

It will not unlock any of the other doors. I've tried searching but couldn't find any previous posts about this. What could be causing the problem?

View 3 RepliesSuddenly, while starting the car I see the ABS & Brake warning lights come on for a few seconds and then turn off. After a week of driving it the warning light come on and stay on and now another light comes on that looks like a circle with an exclamation mark in it. Am I in danger of damaging anything if I keep driving it? I called the dealer and explained the problem and he said the problem is a faulty ABS Control Unit.

My Coming Home and Leaving Home functions are turned off due to the HID Headlights, but the interior lights worked fine since the HID installation in 11/13. It is a 2013 Passat SE 2.5. Is there a setting in VCDS for the interior light function.
View 7 Repliesrecently my friends driver window in her 2002 passat has stopped working. her car has automatic windows and im hoping its something simple. she doesnt know much about cars, but she says that the window was making a weird noise and her friends dad thought maybe it came off of the track. the window was rolling down halfway than bumping its self back up. than one day it got stuck down at halfway so her friends dad pulled it shut. And now the window is completely stuck up. all of the other windows are working fine.
View 2 RepliesI have a 02 passat 1.8t FWD, I jacked up the driver side front wheel (with all other three wheels on the ground), and tried to rotate the wheel front side to side, I notice that the wheel actually rotates quite a bit. I wonder what might be causing this problem. I assume that when the car is parked and all other three wheels are on the ground, I am not supposed to be able to rotate the wheel at all.
View 4 RepliesRecently I noticed that my passenger and drivers side tail lights do not get brighter when I hit the brake. However, the center LED lights still are functioning properly. What might be wrong and how to fix it? I thought it might be the break light switch based on what I have read, but I would imagine that the center LED lights would be messed up too if that was the problem.
View 2 RepliesOk everyone the good weather is back, so the drivers side window is down and, I am back to diagnosing an issue that I've been having for some time now. BTW were dealing with my DD 02 1.8t wagon. So all the time over any little bumps in the road or anything that i roll over that "shakes" the drivers side wheel I get this terrible rattle noise. I mean it sounds like I am a dump truck bombing down the road with a bunch of shovels in it......well not that extreme but that sort of shake noise. Anyway the noise however does not occur over any bumps when i even just slightly apply the brake. So I know that it has got to have something to do with the brake rotor or caliper or something on that wheel. Any common issues with brakes? I mean i doubt it is hurting the performance of the vehicle but it is extremely annoying and i feel like something isn't stable that should be until i apply my brakes.

I see that I can push on the light housing and it'll move in a bit, but how can I remove the cover (the colored plastic bit) entirely to replace it with a new, not-busted one?

There is a removable compartment but I am having a hard time removing the harness where the bulbs are located . I see two clips but I still can not pull it out to access the defective bulb.

The only thing that is when i disconnect each sensor the red brake light stops on but not with the osf front sensor. View 1 RepliesWhat's that noise coming from the front end driver side. About 2 months ago Firestone replaced my 06 Vibe 5 speed manual base brakes, rotors, calipers, brake line & fluid replaced. The car is still making a noise when braking at low speeds. It generally happens after the cars been driven awhile or when warm. It sounds like metal on metal scraping. I can also feel vibration in the steering wheel when braking, is it possible that the hub bearing is going. I had the bearing replaced on the passengers side 2 years ago. Doesn't quite sound like the first bearing replacement. I took it back to shop and they replaced the brakes again when they replaced and flushed the lines. The problem is by the time they get to the car it's cooled down and they don't hear the sound. Should I have the hub wheel bearing replaced or is it something else.
