So my sunroof is stuck open and the shade is all the way forward. When I try to close it the glass touches the shade and then goes back to the open position..

View 8 RepliesMy darling wife just called me and told me that one of the people that she was transporting in our egg this afternoon pulled up the passenger-side rear sunshade and hooked it on the clips at the top. Then apparently he just rested his arm on the ledge and they heard some sort of "pop" noise. Then, when he unhooked the sun shade to retract it back into the door it wouldn't pull back and retract so it's stuck in the "open" position. I'm guessing it's a simple matter of popping off the door skin and resetting something that's popped/snapped off.
View 5 RepliesToyota camry SE 2012. The sunroof is stuck on the open position. It is fully open and the motor does not make any noise. The fuse is ok. Nothing seems stuck on the track just from a quick glance. I am hoping to find a way to manually close it if it is possible.

View 9 RepliesBought my 2004 Lexi RX330 in June 2014 with 96k (now has 105k - I drive a lot). It is beautiful and I love it! However, I am NOT in love with the sunroof that is currently stuck open. It's been making a weird noise upon opening (think bag of chips crackly) for the past few weeks. Yesterday was gorgeous weather in TX, so it was open most of the day. Come time to put her to bed, the sunroof would not close. Making a horrible grindy/clicky noise and closes about 4 inches then stops... then it starts to open again. Weird! There's nothing I can see in the tracks that is stopping it. The passenger side looks like it would close, but the drivers side looks like it is stuck. Tried to take the sunroof motor out, but there is a metal bracket in the way. Besides the fact, what to do with the motor once I had it out...

View 16 RepliesHave a 99 Ranger XLT, 4 cyl, manual transmission with 191K miles. Was running good as ever last night but went to start it this morning and throttle's stuck open, causing truck to move forward when in 1st gear. Even with clutch in, near impossible to get vehicle in or out of gear. Managed to get it into reverse, but truck was having none of it. What is the cause or causes of my trouble? Or how much the repairs might cost? I'm on the road so no chance of doing this myself.

View 3 RepliesDrove to work today with the sunroof open doing 75 mph. With it open all the way, there was a loud sound similar to a vehicle without a muffler or a loud revving engine. When I closed it to about 2/3's open, it stopped.

View 5 RepliesI can't believe I did it, but I did. It was supposed to be a dry day here, and I left the sunroof tilted to allow for heat escape!
Well, massive downpour lasted more than an hour! and natch, prayers to the contrary, lots of water got in (not as bad as if it had been totally opened!)
So, the headliner is somewhat damaged. With the tilt, it seems like the water seeped in, possibly more than if it had been opened -- but I won't test that theory.
I figure the seats et al will dry out, but is there anything I can do to set the headliner as it dries? Or will I have to get it replaced?
Ok , so now my sun shade is broken and set at 80% open. It will not move at all. 07 GS350. It was fun while it lasted.
Oh wait and my rear-view mirror has a bunch of black inside the mirror.

This morning i realized that my rear shade did not completely extend. Is this an easy fix or do i have to go to the dealer?

View 1 RepliesSo my sisters Passats battery died this weekend. She had jumper cables, but they were buried in the trunk amongst all her other crap in there. We ended up folding the back seats and crawling into the trunk to release it using the trap lever, but it was a PITA.
Is there no keyhole, or is it hidden like the door key holes? The trunk release button on the driver door is electrical switch, so that did not work either.
I have a 2001 Passat with a trunk that has been stuck shut for over a year. Three different repair men have tried to fix it but they can't get into the trunk since it is locked shut - they also cannot remove back seat to get into the trunk. One wanted to cut a hole into the car behind my license plate to get into it! I can hear the motor that usually releases the trunk but it doesn't open by the key or the switch.
View 8 RepliesI was driving to work this morning and went to open my sunroof and as I always do I hit the button and it opens to a point, then I hold the button down and it opens another inch or so. I realized I always do that, open it that little extra.
My curiosity is why doesn't it just open all the way? What's the point of that little extra bit? I am sure it has something to do with air flow.
