2010 Passat.....the driver seat controller started acting up today...it will not raise or lower the seat any longer ....front to back works.....seat angle works.....front of the seat cushion still works...but the seat height no longer adjusts.

It moves fine when I am not sitting in it, but as soon as I sit in it, it doesn't want to work (the motor starts to engage, albeit weakly, then stalls). I have never worked on a seat before, so I don't even know where I should start looking to fix the problem. 2005 Ex Limited. And is there a part I should be focused on? And how the heck do I dissassmble it? I've seen the seat's diagram, but I really can't tell by that how to take the seat apart.

View 8 RepliesMy drivers door window switch no longer does the one touch operation. Yesterday I rolled the window down and it wouldn't come back up. After driving around for a while with the window down, I was successful in getting it to roll back up. This was after several repeated tries and shutting the car on and off. Does this mean I probably need a new switch? Is this a somewhat common issue?
View 3 RepliesThe drivers seat heat on my 2010 F-150 stopped working. The passengers side works fine. When I press the button on the dash, it lights for 2-3 seconds, then goes out. I have been looking around all weekend for a fix. I found many posts, but they are older and the equipment I'm seeing on my 2010 F-150 looks different. I found the wires coming from the heating pad. I was going to try and test for continuity but the wires have a plastic fitting and I can't get contact to the wires. I found a diagram on Foreparts.com showing that the heated seat control module is part # 14C724. I was able to locate on the passengers side, but not on the drivers side so I wasn't able to swap and see if that was the problem.

View 11 RepliesI have a 2006 Passat 2.0T (UK Model), and I'm having trouble with both the outside temperature reading and the climatronic's cooling ability. When I bought the car the air-con was blowing cold and warm air without any problems, but the "cold" air is just a little too warm to be working correctly. I've had the system re-gassed but this didn't solve anything.
As I said, all the features of the air-con work perfectly, it's just the cold air just isn't cold enough - so it seems to me that the compressor is working fine. Also, the outside air temperature reading on the MFD reads about 5-10 degrees too warm. Would this have anything to do with the air-con issue?
My problem is my seat will recline but will not go back up. Basically every time I hit the recline switch my seat is stuck a little further reclined. I am not sure if the problem is the switch, motor, control box ect. When I move the recline switch I hear the relay in the control box close. Nothing happens when I press forward. Very difficult seat to work on. I can't even sort out where the recline motor is. It seems to be in the seat back though and not under the seat but I am not sure and diagrams are unclear to me.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2006 sc430 and have been having problems with the drivers memory seat although the passenger one works fine.
I have disconnected my batter for 5 minutes, moved the passenger seat all the way forward, heard the beep. Moved the reclining part all the way forward until I heard the beep, and the memory seat for the passenger works great.

I even replaced my drivers mirror (didn't tilt down due to bad motor), but that didn't work. Of course, I did redo disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it resetting both drivers seat and passenger seat.
The driver side seat heater on my '05 X is not working. The orange light comes on but no heat. The passenger side works fine. Where I should start my troubleshoot? Any common/known problem areas?
View 7 RepliesI have an '07 Saturn Relay. The drivers side heated seat has quit working, the passenger side works fine. When I turn the warmer switch on, the switch lights up but the seat never gets warm on the high or low mode of the switch. After a while the light on the switch goes off, it used to stay on all the time. What could be wrong and how can I check it?
View 3 RepliesI've had a problem with my driver's seat becoming a little "flimsy" feeling over the last few days. This morning, when adjusting the lumbar support on my driver's seat, I immediately heard a pop. Now the lumbar adjustment doesn't work. The lumbar adjustment piece no longer flexes out and the dial just continues to rotate around until it unscrews completely so that I can see the white plastic screw threads. When I reinsert and retighten the lumbar piece no longer moves.
View 7 RepliesWell, as I saw with a lot of B5/B5.5 Passat's, a lot of drivers seats seems to be loose in the tracks... the loose seems to be up/down from the rear right corner when accelerate/braking maneuver is done.

Recently the drivers seat would only recline/move front to back tilt on the outer left most side. The seat back appeared to be frozen on the inner/right hand hinge by the center console. It just twists the seat back if I try to recline or move it at all
Is this a warranty thing or is there something simple like a fuse or plug the at could be the culprit?
Looking for instructions on drivers side and passenger front seat removal. Want to get under there to clean underneath as just bought the car. Also want to check out what sort of room there is for some new audio equipment that I will be installing soon.

In January we bought a 2010 RX 450H with less than 12,000 miles. But 2 months ago noticed a yellowing discoloring on the drivers leather in a few spots. It is the light gray leather. Also some flaking. I had a similar flaking with our 07 ES350. The dealer had their detailer clean the RX drivers leather but now notice it returning and several areas of the coloring flaking off. I've heard they treat any seat imperfections to prep for CPO sale. In fact it looked new when bought. The feel of the drivers leather is also different than all the other seats.
The car still has less than 20,000 miles. This is ridiculous.
