This morning was freezing outside, went to work , unlock the car turn it on get in close. The door and slam!! Slam! Slam ! It won't closed! I had to drive with one hand on wheel other holding the door, after that notice when I lock the car from inside the door stay almost closed like it kind of locked but still open the just push it in trying to closed it and then it lock..
View 1 RepliesI took the T-REG to a dealer today because I noticed the drivers door (more precisely the bottom corner towards the rear) doesn't close well, and the vehicle itself pulls to the right. I got a call back from the service manager stating that the door is actually bent!!! He states that the reason the vehicle pulls might be due to the bend as well!!! He advised me to call the dealer I actually bought it from and bring this up with them!!! I bought it with 103 miles it now has 203 (the extra miles are actually to just bring it to my house and drive it to the dealership)What should I do!!! Is the door actually repairable; the service manager states it is impossible to fix it because how it is made and installed!!
View 7 RepliesI just purchased a 2006 E-350 15 passenger van. ~85000 miles. As soon as any door (except the very back door) opens, the dome light comes on, as expected. However, when you close the door, the light doesn't go off. There are two ways I've found to make the light go off:
1. Reach a speed of 10mph
2. Wait several minutes (i haven't timed it yet, maybe 10 min?) without opening a door
I've read that the keyless entry remote can control this, but this van isn't equipped with keyless entry. There must be some factory setting that can be adjusted. Also, any thoughts on adding an aux jack to the stock AM/FM/CD stereo? Maybe I should bite the bullet and install an after-market deck?
Starting a few weeks ago, my drivers side door of my 2007 Camry doesn't unlock either with the keypad or by using the button within the car. Someone broke something off in the lock eons ago so now I'm just climbing over the passengers side which stinks. This isn't happening all the time, usually just when I'm in a rush But it's happening more frequently.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Accent SE Hatchback. The drivers door will lock but will not unlock with the remote. The drivers door locks and unlocks with the inside door switch and locks and unlocks with the key. The passenger door and hatch unlock on the 2nd click with the remote. The only issue with the locking system is that the drivers door will not unlock with the remote.

Saw the 2013 Jetta commercial with the dog and in the last scene the owner closes all windows via the exterior driver door handle.
Is this a function available on the Passat? I tried it with no success.
Just recently I am having an odd rattle almost echo vibration when I close my driver's side door. I have tried it with the window down a bit and don't notice or get the noise. It almost feels like something is loose or being vibrated around and above the door.
I haven't had much time to look into it closely - It is pretty annoying!!!
Have problem with driver door not unlocking.All other doors unlock and driver door can be opened from inside handle. Tried search but no hit.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2002 passat. Recently, the door locks have been doing strange things. The key fob will unlock the drivers door only. Yesterday, when I hit the unlock button, the door lock button went up but the door remained locked. Even using the key itself, the door would not open. I had to climb in through the read hatch (it was a wagon or I'd still be locked out). Where the problem lies? The dealer suspects some component in the drivers door is malfunctioning. How to trouble shoot this without taking the door apart? If not, how do I take the door apart?

View 2 RepliesJust passed 700 miles on my new baby, loving every minute of it. What I don't quite understand is why the remote start shuts off when you unlock the door. That just seems so counterintuitive. I'm sure there's a legitimate safety reason why, but it seems to add more wear to the motor by turning it off and on so many more times since one has to start it again once getting inside.
Any way to hack the system in such a way that once remote started the car doesn't shut off when you get in?
Logistically it might be an issue since I'm sure stepping on the brake would shut the car off when running on remote start (since no actual key gets inserted into a keyhole)...but then again the key being in proximity could permit driving the vehicle... I dunno.
I took off the door panel of the passenger side door because i needed the serial number for my speaker which is going out, well once iI got everything i needed i replaced the door panel back on it was actually quite simple and took less that 10 mins I didn't even unplug ANYTHING, but then when i get into my car to start it up and go to my mom's house it wont start, nor will it unlock with the key, the lights and everything come on but the engine wont start!

View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 VW Passat. This weekend the keyless entry was working fine. Then on Monday, I go to unlock the doors, and the key less entry will only unlock the Driver's door. It will not unlock any of the other doors. I've tried searching but couldn't find any previous posts about this. What could be causing the problem?

View 5 RepliesI have had this problem for a while now, but can't seem to figure it out. I'm sure it's an electrical issue, but I'm not that great with electrical. My turn signals don't click when I push the handle in either direction. The turn signals come on and stay on but don't blink like they should. I checked the lights in the front and back and they just stay on but don't blink. Also my hazards don't blink. They just stay on and don't make clicking noise either. My horn doesn't work and my door doesn't ding with the key still in the ignition but in the off position. I don't know of it's all related or different issues.
View 10 RepliesSo last night I tried to lock my car door i put the key in and tried to turn it to lock it and it wouldn't move as if it were stuck or something so i had to lock it from the passenger side and this morning i went to go check it out and sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on the key and inside the part the key goes in since it wouldn't move and was stuck i thought that might have worked but instead all it did was make it worse now it just spins in circles freely without locking or unlocking my doors i have to do it from the passenger side ...
View 6 RepliesI recently bought a used 2013 passat and one day noticed that my front passenger door wouldn't unlock with the remote. All other doors unlocked, but not that one. I opened it from the inside and it unlocked, but then it wouldn't lock with the remote or the lock button. I tried the usual troubleshooting techniques (repeating the steps over and over, giving puzzled glances, long stares) but those didn't work. I did notice that on the edge of the door, next to the lock mechanism, was a small rectangular hole the same size/shape as my key. I was pretty awesome at the shapes game growing up, so I immediately jumped at putting the object in the hole of matching shape. Sure enough, the key went in. I was able to turn it and when I did, the door started locking and unlocking normally.
I went through the manual (contrary to the stereotypes about men) but couldn't find this particular "feature" or why my car would have it or need it.
I came out to get into my car today and pressed the keyfob to unlock and nothing. Went inside, same deal with my backup and valet key. I tried to scan with vag com with the alarm going off and I could link up, but not to the immobilizer or lock system. I did get both key 1 and key 2 adaptation surpassed codes. Even when I manually unlock the drivers door the alarm does not go off and I cannot roll up my windows with the key or unlock any other doors with the key. Things have been strange lately too, every time I lock the car and set the alarm the doors themselves locks don't sink down but the alarm is activated allowing anyone to get into the car but alarm goes off.
