Sometimes my '06 B6 (43K miles) starts then immediately dies. This continues for about 10 - 15 start attempts, then everything returns to normal. When I read error codes I get an immobilizer error - 001299 Incorrect immobilizer key. Also P0513 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent.
View 3 RepliesI have problem in my VW Passat v6 2002. When insert car key to turn on start Engine, The screen shows an error message: "immobil activated" That means: Immobilizer is activated! And after that car is auto turn off then the Engine shut down in one second with flashing key light! As the fuel tank is empty..
But When I try to start again after an hour / two hours it's works!! This situation comes up if the car was parked from last night until the moment of start on in the afternoon!!! What is strange that this problem does not occur only at the time of day warm, Between 5 and 11 o'clock in the afternoon hot days!!! Because this problem is not never happen in the evening and night.
I go to the Workshop for dellership Car Agency. They re-programmable keys, But the problem is still continuing.
took my car to the dealer to get a key programmed. Its a 2006 passat 2.0t 6speed auto. Anyway, they couldn't get the key to read and now I have a fault on my dash. "Immobilizer adjustment fault". How do I get rid of it?

View 2 RepliesJust bought a 2012 2.5l last week, and have a question about the MPG display on the dash. When I bought it from the dealer it had a full tank and it showed I had about 500+ miles left. Yesterday I filled up the tank again and now it only showed I have 405 miles, but as I drove it bounced around from 415-400. after driving about 35 miles its still at 405 miles. Just wondering if this is how it's supposed to be, if I have to reset something every time I fill up, or if something is wrong? I've always had mk4 so I'm not all up to date on the "new".
View 4 RepliesI have a VW Passat V6 1999. i got 2 codes that came on p1625 and p1749. i checked those two codes and they were the same similar codes with the same reading: Transmission Control Unit Incorrect coded. Explanation: Check coding on TCM- wrong module, and Data - Bus powertrain implausible message from transmission control explanation: open or short circuit condition. the catalytic converter is missing. the car also has trouble starting up. but my main question is what do i do to fix the "Transmission Control Unit Incorrect coded"?

View 1 RepliesToday after leaving office I switched on the ignition and for the first time I see this massage "Immobilizer activated". I went out to look at the car and found some finger prints on the driver side window.
Is the car so sensitive to touch? Or the alarm was activated for some reason and some one tried to look inside the car?

View 2 RepliesIt happened to passat. Once I hit about 75mph on highway I get a stop engine (oil presser low light). It flashes than goes off once I lower my speed. I checked all fluids are normal. It throws a 12 code an says oil passage blocked, cam positioning sensor, skipped timing chain. These are what the code says could be wrong with it. The car runs fine with no hesitation at idle or normal city driving. I have already flushed the oil with cleaner, and still getting the light.
View 5 RepliesI have had the keys recoded 9 days ago and two days ago they started playing up again, today I phoned the mob I paid $150 to recode my keys and they're going to look at it again (for a small fee) despite it their work being faulty, is there anything else that could be causing this? It will sometimes take 20+ turns of my key before it registers.
View 7 RepliesI bought a new to me 2005. The car came with one fob with the silver logo. The smart key functionality does not work on the car. Lock and unlock works with the fob and I can start and drive with the fob inserted in the slot. Oddly when I push the black button on the outside of the door the red light flashes on the key fob. I have pressed the button under the steering wheel labeled key and that does not seem to change anything. Pressing the button on the door handle causes a long beep to sound.
In addition the light on the dash that is the car with the black key in the middle constantly flashes. It never turns off while driving. I believe this is the same light that acts as the theft deterrent light. I would think that the two are somehow related.
I was able to borrow an OBD-II scanner to read the error code(P1818) currently displayed. I was wondering if the P1818 Error Code is related to a faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM).
View 1 RepliesMy cousin's B5 wagon automatic 1.8T ('00) was shaking and vibrating intermittently. I took it down to Autozone and borrowed an OBD2 scanner. This is what it said (only one code, and the CL was off, although it comes on intermittently):

I have no clue what is wrong but I have an exhaust leak and when I am accelerating I can hear the loud shhh sound like the turbo is leaking but I still have power like normal.

View 1 RepliesMy buddy's left front tire came off last night destroyed his rotor and cracked his rim but the weird question is his digital speedometer is reading 18mph not matter if he is moving or standing still and he has a light that shows low tire pressure and system error we check all the connections and connectors but noting is broken. How to fix this or clear out the fault.
View 18 RepliesI went to a stereo shop to have all my doors covered with DynaMat. They did a great job there but now I have an airbag error. How do I reset this? I do have a VCDS cable. I know it was because the battery was not unplugged before the door trim was removed so I'm not that worried, just wondering if VCDS can take care of it or I MUST go to the dealer.
My other issue are the interior lights. I had them all replaced with LED bulbs and when I left the shop I turned the map lights on and all was good. I left the shop to put some fuel in and when I started the car again I had no lights. Now NONE of my interior lights go on. What Happened? I've seen plenty of people with LED bulbs in their cars so I didn't think anything could go wrong? Do I just go back to the stock bulbs?

What exactly does that mean in other words. also what is bank 1? im not sure what oxygen sensor it is out of the 4 of them.

I have a 2003 1.8L Volkswagen Passat which I hate to say I've been lax on taking care of. In the past year I've been good about getting the oil changed and using fully synthetic oil. I am now getting an error message that says STOP Check Oil Press. Stop Motor. I took the car to my mechanic who can't tell me exactly what's wrong. From what I'm reading here, it looks like I'm dealing with "sludge."
My car is at a little over 60,000 miles and I'm wondering what to do. I don't mind spending the money to fix the car, but I really don't know how to figure out exactly what's going on, and what I should do. The mechanic I took the car to is going to completely empty the oil and then get a gage of the true oil level...
