I want to change the brake fluid on my B6 TDI 140. I know how to do this using the classic procedure (cars without ABS), but i want to know how to change the fluid inside the ABS hydraulic group using VAG.COM ?

I can do it by using the classic procedure, but i want to know how to change the liquid even inside the ABS hydraulic group. Should i just do an actuator activation test ?
Is there a write up on how to change the brake fluid or is it the typical pump, hold, then open and close the valve on the caliper from farthest to closest? Also, is it ok to use dot4 super blue fluid and do we have a vendor that sells SS Brake lines?

I have 116,000 miles on her. Lots of highway driving, and this is only the first replacement set, these pads last forever. The fluid has never been changed before.

View 7 RepliesLong story, but I bought a 2007 Prius with 73K miles on it. Now I'm at 93K miles, and I think it may be more jerky than when I got it when I shift the tranny into "brake" mode.
I don't know if the fluid has ever been changed on it, and I intend to change it very soon now. Am I in a pickle? Or should this transmission be fine if the fluid hasn't been changed for 93K miles?
We have a 2004 Passat 1.8 t with about 180,000 miles on it. We changed the battery and now it seems to belch out tranny fluid once it comes to a stop. I thought I read where some sensors need to be reset after a battery is changed. Would a battery change cause a leak of this type?
View 1 RepliesHaving issues with the auto-ebrake? My friend has a 09 passat with the push button ebrake. He was changing his brake pads when his ebrake will not release. He was told by VW to not use a c-clamp to depress them as they would mess up the sensors or something along those lines.

View 1 RepliesOver the past week I have noticed leaking brake fluid and after my STOP Brake failure light came on I topped off the brake fluid and it is down to a low level again. I also notice that the clutch pedal (manual) does not return all the way when the brake fluid is low and I assume they share the same fluid. I'm going to take it to my mechanic but could this be a clutch problem or just a fluid leak.
View 1 RepliesI have been changing the transmission fluid. It seems the consensus is that unless you are driving under extreme conditions (other than "normal"), it may be advised. I am probably driving my 2006 V8 Phaeton "normally" but I am not sure of its previous life. For example, it lived in hot and humid South Carolina and may have done a lot of highway miles. So I am thinking about changing that fluid for safe measure.
View 24 RepliesI just acquired a 2006 Prius with 96000 miles. My local service station said he did not want to change the transaxle fluid. He said he had changed it for someone and the car stopped working. My son the mechanical engineer said there is a risk that changing the fluid can dislodge particles that were not a problem and cause a problem. I don't drive many miles -maybe 3000 per year, so car will be 19 years old by the time I get over 130,000 miles. So I am not looking for the transaxle to last 200,000 miles or so.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2003 Santa Fe 2.4L (automatic) with 200,000 miles. Auto shop is recommending I change my transmission fluid. I've heard that changing the transmission fluid on a high-mileage vehicle is potentially dangerous. I haven't noticed any symptoms of "bad" transmission fluid.
View 5 Replies I swapped my fluid and ever since I did that my clutch and brake pedal are pulsing/vibrating only when I start the car. It almost feels like ABS pulsing but on both pedals and the car is obviously stationary.
I followed the procedure from the manual and did all 4 corners and slave.
Brakes work fine/clutch is fine...

What is the right mileage to do transmission fluid change on my 2009 prius? Toyota said I don't supposed to do it on that car, never, but i think that's not right.
