I remember reading that some common problems that plagued the 2006 Passat have been removed or rectified for 2008. what was improved or rectified in 2008 over '06 and '07?
I'm planning to trade-in my '06 Passat for '08 if I can find a good deal and would like to know the above.

View 2 RepliesOk so I dropped off my 06 at the dealer for some warranty work and got an 08 for a loaner. They are both 2.0t tips. The 08 is a ton faster than my 06. It spins the tires all thru first gear if you turn off the esc and stand on it from a stop. I thought mine felt good but this one is better.

I am selling my pickup and getting an 08 with the 5.4 and am in the fortunate situation to be able to have both vehicles with me currently. Question, would i be able to swap the intakes? Place the stock intake form the 08 on the 06 and the S&B fit the 08? I know the pickups are nearly identical, but just want a little clarification.

I just picked my 2008 Prius up from the dealer after having 4 new tires put on, after a blowout. When I went to open the hatch to make sure my spare and tools were all put back, the hatch would not open. It's a keyless model and the doors all unlock when I put my hand underneath the handle and I can lock them with the black button but the hatch will not open. I manually opened the hatch, thinking maybe the technician got something stuck in the latch when he closed it but did not find anything to be there. Does it sound like the handle itself is bad or maybe an actuator? In my searches, I've found many cases where people have replaced the handle due to it "melting," but nothing similar to what I'm experiencing.
View 19 RepliesI have 2007 Camry base model 4 cyl. I went into the grocery store with my wife and kids and returned to car with no power. I turn the key and nothing happens. The dome light can turn on but its weak. the only dash lights that come on are the oil light and the key with the car picture.
I bought a new battery for it and still nothing. I had it towed to my house and currently trying to find as much info as possible on it. So again I turn the key, no lights on the dash except for oil for a second... then nothing no turning over, no clicking..
My thoughts are cable wires or fuses?
I've got the stock stereo (CD and radio) and am wondering about options to connect my iPhone. Do I need a new stereo, or is there some way to add either a stereo mini input or iPhone cable input?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Ford Explorer Eddy B model with 74K miles. When I drive it randomly "Jitters". The event is difficult to describe. It happens anytime; hot or cold, at start-up or after being on the road a while, when I accelerate or am at a constant speed, on cruise control or not. The only time it is not prone to happen is going up a steep incline.
The engine cuts out several times in very quick succession, or once for about 1-2 seconds. It sort of feels like a series of backfires, or that the transmission is trying to find a gear it wants to be in (as I said, this happens even on a level road at a constant speed). When the event takes place, the tach intermittently and quickly goes from the hormonal 1500 rpm (or so) to around 2500 rpm, then returns to normal.
This occurs more often lately.
There is no engine light, so putting it on a test machine is not yet an option. I have changes all the filters and uses the gas stuff to eliminate water. I let the tank get down to 50 miles of driving time and then always fill the tank.
I bought a used 2009 Passat several months ago, only to find out that two of the wheels are bent. I've found a new set of 2012 Passat wheels with tires at a good price. Will they fit my 2009?

View 7 RepliesMy 2007 Toyota Solara convertible has been perfect...and now suddenly the convertible back window is leaking. My husband advised me not to drive it today due to the expected rain. OOPS. I went out, and when I made a stop, I looked at the back window and realized the bottom window (glass/plastic?) had completely separated from the fabric top. The top itself is in perfect condition.

if 08 factory running boards will fit on my 15? After ten weeks of waiting she finally in town but the dealer told me I never mentioned running boards so it's either swap my old ones or pay 600 for some after markets similar to the factory running boards.

The 08 (drivers) seat has 4 wires in the input clip.

and my 01 whip out of the floor has a 3 wire setup.

I can wire PS side seat from fuse box and ground it NP. It only has a 2 wire set-up in the new seat.
I'm thinking of doing a dash swap on my 99 super duty to the 2008 super duty dash, steering wheel, etc. I know the od in my truck is mechanical and in the new one its electronical is it possible to swap without having to redue the whole electrical system and computer? Is the steering wheel going to line up and the ducting? How should i approach the wiring?
