Screen go black, radio shut off, then reset itself while driving over and over again. Have the car parked and radio stays on after you pull the key and set the alarm. And the final piece, the alarm goes off three times no lights flashing then stops sitting in a garage, not outside. Is this a short ? I have two brand new batteries, new starter new altenator.

First one is the radio screen is black. Blank. Nothing there, although the radio does work. Seller had it tuned to a station. It has steering wheel controls. Here's the radio. Can this be repaired?
View 14 RepliesSince dec 31 my Nav screen goes black while driving, they only way i can bring it back is by shuting down and restarting the engine. But keeps doing it. Took it to deal they said they rebooted whole navi system but still doing it.

View 11 RepliesI am due to make a 400 mile round trip business trip today. Go out and start the car, and the screen display is black. The MFD. None of the buttons on it work, either - I have the beep ON, no beep. I turned it off, waited about 1 minute and tried again, still nothing. Went for a short drive (took the dogs to the park where they can run), it was off for about 35 minutes. Still nothing for the short drive back home. I mean short, this is less than 2 miles one way.
I can still access the a/c and the radio from the steering wheel. I can see my speed, fuel etc, that is fine. It is just the display monitor. This came out of the blue, I have not noticed any issues at all.
Right now it doesn't chance background shade when at night time, it always stays white.
How to change so that it automatically changes to black when in night time ?
Having issues with their navigation screen in the '14 IS. Twice now in the last week, while driving, it has reset. The screen goes black, music/radio turns off, and then everything comes back up after a second or two like nothing happened. Also, probably just a coincidence, but both times it happened in roughly the same location on my drive to work.

View 2 RepliesI noticed today shortly before turning off the car that the screen was lagging. Sometimes there was not even response. Radio turned on and off ok, but screen was not showing it. It would then display (after several seconds) the info, display, and audio. However, when I clicked the Climate one, the MFD said, "Check the condition to the air conditioner." However, when I used the driver's controls, it worked okay.
I then turned off the car, and when I turned it back on, everything appeared to be normal. The screen was significantly lagging.
Might this be an issue with the air conditioning itself. I mostly run the A/C on full blast on the MAX cold (sometimes Auto (LO temp, HI fan)). Temperature in the output vent (left center one) after 5-10 minutes: 48 degrees moving. Outside temperature between 100 and 110, so it's pretty hot too.
I have a 2004 ford Escape and the radio won't turn off when the cars ignition is turned off. I have checked the interior lights and the windows and they turn off, so I'm assuming that the relay isn't the problem. I have asked a ford mechanic what he might think it would be and he said it could be the radio, but I don't think it is.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2004 V8 phaeton that has a radio and electronics that now have a mind of their own. The radio will come on randomly and can not be controlled. The main computer screen will sometimes not come on. On the screen in the instrument cluster it jumps between degrees F and C. I have replaced both batteries, done a static discharge and taken it to the dealer to have all of the codes cleared... Later that day it all came back... So I went to the dealer and they cleared the codes again. It is back again.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2013 Elantra GT with 38k miles on it and when I put my car in reverse today, the backup camera screen turned black with the red/green/yellow gridlines instead of showing the camera video. The radio unit itself is fully functional (display, touch screen, channel tuning, etc.) so I'm wondering if the camera could be shot?

There is a black plastic piece hanging and touch the ground, the noise was from this black plastic piece touching the ground. Attached is the picture.Is this a big problem? Can I continue to drive the car to repair shop to get this fixed?

View 12 RepliesSo I got my car today (2005) and I love it! I have some questions about it. When I was driving back from the dealership, I was watching the energy screen. The temperature was about 28F and it was mostly highway driving between 65-75 MPH.
During the drive, I kept noticing the yellow arrows flashing on for 500mS, then go off, then come back on in a few seconds. I wasn't able to keep the yellow arrows on consistently. There didn't seem to any sequence to it, it just seemed random. The battery never dropped below 7 bars except when I was going slow and it was always green when I was going slow. Also, the only time the battery went to 8 bars was when I braked hard and that was one time.
I would have thought the car would have used more of the battery to assist but at the same time my MPG was over 50 (51.1 to be exact) so I'm thinking this is normal. Is it?
So I just purchased a 2011 F350 6.7 this week...I've had absolutely no problems until I drove it to the dealer just to get it detailed...I give the salesman my key and he comes back and says it won't start...we tried numerous time to start it...put jump boxes on both batteries and nothing...had full power to all accessories but when attempting to crank it would black out on the dash screen and give me a "stop vehicle" warning....does this deal with security?....also after hassling to get rental for a hour or so,we tried agian and it fired right up?!?...also it started double honking when locking. ..is that due to the hood being up?
