My daughter received a warning for her driver side headlamp being out. When we checked it, we found it working but with a pulsing. Later as we worked on the car for routine stuff the headlight went out completely.

If I turned the lights off, then immediately back on, sometimes I could get the light to turn back on. Recently the passenger light started doing this as well. I'm wondering if the bulbs are going bad, or is the ballast going bad? Is there an easy way to check?
View 19 RepliesI've got a 2007 Prius Touring and have been experiencing that well-documented issue with the HID. Namely, the driver side cuts out after a few minutes of being on. If I flip the lights off and on again it will come back, but will inevitably go out again.
Last summer, I removed the assembly and dumped out about a half a cup of water, and drilled a small hole to create air circulation to dry it out completely. That didn't solve the problem so I did more research. I just replaced the ballast (which was corroded as hell), and that didn't solve the problem either (to my great disappointment). I found a salvage yard that has the whole assembly from a 2008, and I'm about to try that. If even that doesn't work, then I guess it has to be a shoddy power supply from the car, correct? And, in this situation, what can be done, if anything?
All I've been able to find are folks who replaced the ballast, or who fell into the extended warranty period that Toyota so graciously enacted back in 2011 (needless to say, my car does not meet their criteria anymore).
Hear a plop plop noise when car travels forward over 7 MPH. The sound increases as speed increase. The tire isn't flat and I haven't found any debris in the tread or in the wheel. I need to know if it is safe to drive this car to the dealer (about 7 miles) to have them check the car.
View 5 RepliesMy mother owns a 2004 Toyota Prius, we got the car couple of months ago, and noticed the brake light was out, on the drivers side. Little did we know that it was a hard thing to actually replace, and we didn't bother giving much care to it since we thought it was a regular $15 bulb you just pop onto the tail light.
It turns out, the top part of the brake light attached to the remainder of the tail light does not turn on, while the center and passenger side of the brake lights turn on. It is black colored/tinted, and my guess is this is an LED.
I drive an 05 Prius the drives side LED part of the light is dim. I went to the dealer and they told me I had to buy the hole light assembly. Is this true?
View 6 RepliesI have burnt driver side H4 light but am not able to change it. After turning the rubber dust cover it comes loose but is stuck somewhere (in the middle) and won't come out. The power connector is disconnected.
I don't want to force it out so is there a trick for this? The metal pin is still holding the bulb in.
Is it a big operation to take the whole sealed beam (is that right word for it? The whole front light box I mean) off so I could take a better look. There is not too much space behind the fuse box.

View 4 RepliesYesterday when i was driving on highway on my dash board the lights came on: the check engine light, master light, brakes lights. After driving couple of miles my car completely shut down. I took the exit and after that the car didn't start at all. Even i couldn't start the ignition to connect my OBD scaner to read the codes. Now I even can't do something to read the codes or to turn the engine on somehow, what to do.
View 17 RepliesI was wondering if this seems reasonable. I just bought a used 2008 Prius top trim package with 107,00 miles on it this last month. The first day I owned it a check engine light was triggered. The guy I bought it from hooked it up to his computer and cleared it to then try to trigger it again. This happened when I first turned on the car. I started backing and then it turned on. I didn't know what caused it as we couldn't trigger the response again. It's been a few weeks now and 1 trip to the shop for some repairs. There have been no problems what-so-ever since then and my Prius just started getting close to the 50 MPH as advertised after a tune up.
Today when I'm driving, as the seller did mention before could happen, the right headlight turned off. As he had told me before, just turning the lights off and turning them back on will get it working again. I did this and as soon as I did the check engine light came on. I go back to the night I originally had it happen and I was probably in the process of turning on my lights.
When i brake completely when im at a red light my 2007 prius makes a knocking/clunking sorta sound... What could this be?

View 7 RepliesWhen I get in the car, I noticed this. The head rest keeps creeping up. Every time I get in, it must creep up a little. And after time, it's extended up to almost max height. I'm constantly having to adjust it down. I'm 5'8" if that makes a difference.
View 16 RepliesI have a 2006 Toyota Prius. I bought it last year at a Toyota dealership. No long after having the car, the head light would go off sporadically, but would come back on if I turn the car off and back on. Now the entire right side, both the head light and fog light are out. I have a 2006 Prius. I looked online and apparently this is a known issue. There was even a law suit against Toyota, for not recalling the cars and costing owner's hundreds of dollars in repairs.
I took the car in, last summer while the car was still under warranty, when I had to get the 12V battery replace, and told the tech about the issue with the head light. They found "nothing wrong"The problem kept happening and became more often. Now that both sides are off and won't come on at all, I called the dealership, they want to charge me almost $300 to change the bulb!
I saw videos online that show how to do this in about 5 min (changing the bulb) without having to take the bumper off, which is what the dealer told me they had to to. I know it is a lot of info, just to ask, would it be safe, or how safe would it be to change the bulb my self? I would of course be wearing gloves to make sure I don't touch the bulb.
I installed a new ballast and bulb for an 07 ES350. Light, on drivers side, still flickered until I installed the ground screw. This is the screw behind the drivers side quarter panel and it is the only screw on the side of the headlight assembly. Once I inserted this screw, light functioned properly for about 10 minutes. Then it went out and light doesn't come on at all. The fuse is still good. I have tried switching bulbs and light still doesn't work. Also, there isn't any humming from the ballast at all.
View 2 RepliesI own a 2003 Toyota Camry with 195,000 miles. We have owned the car for about 6 years. It is now leaking oil from the drivers side of the head gasket. The oil has been leaking down onto the exhaust and smoking, and it has been getting worse and worse. This is a second car and is not used much, only once a month for short trips. Is there any temporary fix for this that can maybe get me through a year? Also, I have heard mixed opinions on how hard replacing the head gasket is, does the engine really need to be removed?
View 9 RepliesJust started experiencing an AC problem. First started with diminished cooling and airflow. Checked the filter and it was dirty, so replaced it. Airflow is completely restored however the air from the drivers side vents is significantly warmer than the passenger side vents.

When it came out, I drove it home and the drivers side airbag warning light came on. I rang them to which they replied get it back in when you can and we will check it.
When it went back in, the confirmed that it required a new airbag. Not being familiar with airbags, would it really be a replacement of the whole unit?
