In our 2010 rear center seat the belt will only come out a few inches and then stop like that's the end of it. It just got really cold here. We can't have our entire family go in the car now. This is a serious safety issue.

View 5 Replies2011 Four - I changed both the engine air and the cabin air filters this week. Since then I am getting random chimes. These are low in volume and are in no way related to the obnoxious beeps from the seat belt and reverse warnings. Some of these chimes start out like the familiar pattern that some clocks make prior to ringing out the hours. Some of the chimes are only 2 or 3 notes long. There does not seem to be any pattern as to when these chimes come. There are no indications on the display panel. I am stumped.

View 1 RepliesThe passenger front belt on my new 450h has a weird behavior. It keeps retracting and locking when someone uses it. You can hear it ratcheting back. It even gets tighter if you exhale. Dealer replaced it once and the problem persists.
View 11 RepliesSo my partner got out of the car today and SLAMMED the door behind him (something I've gotten after him about many many times!) This time though the seatbelt managed to get stuck between the door. This has caused a nick on the inside door panel thingy (close to where the latch is) obviously this cannot be seen unless you open the door and look at it. Is there any action I should take for this or just leave it alone?
View 7 RepliesI just bought my wife a 13' RX 350 F-Sport and if you don't put on your seatbelt right away the car goes nuts. Is there any way to disable the seatbelt chime in the new RX? I have an 08' IS and i was able to turn the chime off by myself.
View 3 RepliesI just bought a ceritifed pre-owned 2010 RX 450h. I love it, but a couple of questions as I get to know the car.
1) The rain sensor seems to not work. I set the wipers to what on another car would be "intermittent" but the wipers never come on. Am I missing something, am I a dummy? Or should I just get the dealer to replace the sensor?
2) Any way to turn off the seatbelt warning chime?
I can't find the procedure to disable the seatbelt chime for my 2012 GX460. I did read and perform the procedure listed for other Lexus vehicles, but this doesn't seem to be the right method... How to do this?
View 4 Repliesi just picked up my prius from the autobody shop after a small bumper humper[ some clown ran a red light hit the wife ] car looks good but get in it and the fan is stuck on high even though i have tried to change everything . should i disconnect the battery to try to reset or just take it to the stealer to have them look at it.
View 4 RepliesFirst week or so, the alarm was fine. It would go off if the passenger didn't have their belt on. Suddenly, it wouldn't shut off, even after the passenger put their seatbelt on. We went through the procedure to just disable it. It worked for a couple days.
Then it started going off again. It only happens if I have a passenger in the front seat. (I have two children in the back but they are in carseats and if it is just them and I, we have no problems, but if my husband is in the passenger seat - we have problems).
We went through the procedure to disable it and it didn't work this time. After more reading I realized the same procedure to disable it, enables it, too - sooo we did it a 3rd time to disable it, again. It worked.
Same trip, we got back in the car -everyone is buckled up and IT GOES OFF AGAIN!! I just want it disabled, period. It drives me crazy.
(It will stop dinging about 10 minutes into the drive but most my trips are under 10 minutes so that means all the time)
I have a strange problem with the air circulation in my 2010 prius. The vents are stuck in one position. When I try to go to different mode (windshield, floor, etc) it doesn't do anything.
This happened when I was alternating between windshield and other modes to get small parts of glass from the vents (car had a windshield damage due to a "meeting" with a deer). Anyway, I don't know what could be wrong.
Is there a motor that overheated (due to constant switching of modes)? Is there a piece of glass blocking the system from switching?
I have a 2010 Prius and noticed that lately I sometimes have to press either lock or unlock several times before the little black and red switch moves to either lock or unlock.
View 2 RepliesI was recently having some AC issues, I dropped the glove box to check the cabin filter, That's when all hell broke loose., I noticed a plug in one of the boxed was loose, I pushed it in and the car started beeping, so I shut the car off, then started it, Its park brake was stuck, so I tried everything from disconnecting 12v batt, to disconnecting the high voltage batt and then both. Now it won't run, won't do anything and throws no codes.

View 19 RepliesSo it finally happened -- I got CDs stuck in the JBL factory-installed four-disc changer on my 2010 Toyota Prius. (We predicted this would happen the first time we saw it.) What I didn't expect was that the dealership says it can't be repaired and that the CD player -- and the whole navigation system -- have to be replaced. Really? That's the kind of planned obsolescence that will make me never buy another Toyota again.
I took it to a car audio specialist who told me the same thing. But there again, their goal is sell me something, so I’m skeptical. I’m thinking about going the route of giving in to an extended warranty swindle and then cancelling it once I get the cd player replaced. But that feels like overkill, and it makes me as duplicitous as I suspect they are being. If it’s indeed true, that cds stuck in the cd player means you have to replace everything? That’s just not right…
I try to raise my car, but the rear locking string stuck. I can't get them move. I try turn the small ring counter clockwise and clockwise for the bigger ring as the same way I did for rear right, but it doesn't work on the left side. This is Megan racing coilover. I also used liquid wrench but no luck.
View 3 RepliesYesterday, at 8000 ft in the Arizona mtns, my 2010 Prius exhibited some strange behaviors. For several minutes the gas pedal was non responsive in the first half of it's travel, then it would lurch ahead in a jerky manner unlike it's normal behavior.
It seemed like the electric motor was not being engaged. It also seemed stuck in ECO mode. Pushing the economy mode button would not disengage economy mode. If I stepped hard on the pedal it would go, but not very well. After heading down the mountain to a lower elevation seemed to work.
My outside temp readout seems to be stuck at 61-64 degrees and that won't allow the auto select to come on if I have it set at say 72 degrees. It has been working really great up till about a week ago.
View 5 RepliesThe release hatch in back of the 2010 thru 2015 Prius is horrible in the winter. It freezes and gets stuck causing the back hatch not to open. Maybe they should have had some kind of setup like the back window defroster where it defrosts the hatch...
View 6 RepliesMy passsenger side rear wheel hub assembly needs replacing and I am having trouble removing it. I have removed the rotor, the 4 bolts holding the hub, applied generous amounts of pb blaster, and struck it vigorously with a 3 pound hammer. Also, how to release the abs connection.
