View 7 RepliesI just replaced my battery and am wondering if by doing that my the system that counts 5000 miles until next oil change reset. My clock, radio stations, the consumption (miles since last fill up) all reset, so I'm wondering if the count to 5000 reset also. The odometer did not reset though, and the gas tank amount was correct. Just wondering because I didn't write down when my last oil change was.
View 1 RepliesFor the average mileage calculation that appears in the odometer screen, what resets it? Seems that it self-resets at 1,000 miles. Is this correct?
View 6 RepliesI'd heard that the new Prius V would give you stats on your latest trip. I see where it will tell you how long you've driven, but I was under the impression that it also did your MPG for the latest trip too?
Also, my 2008 would automatically reset the trip odo upon fill up. Not the tripA or tripB odo's, but the one on the consumption screen. Does the new one do something similar? I new at every fill up that I would reset the MPG's for that tank whenever the miles reset. I can't find an analog to that in the new screens.
How are people calculating MPG's per tank, computer wise?
I have an erratic fuel gauge. I have to reset odometer at every gas fill up to keep track of mileage. Need to replace the unit but I tried the GM Fuel treatment Plus in the gas tank first.
View 4 RepliesAbout two weeks ago I saw some moisture under the odometer screen. . I went to the dealer, the dealer said it is chemicals and will not be under toyota's warranty. what ever it is , I think it should be under warranty since it is under two layers of glasses, if it is not toyota's fault, how can it get there.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to figure out how to turn on this display for the odometer. Surely this wasn't designed to only show avg consumption for trips right?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2002 Mini Cooper I bought a year and a half ago. The last couple of months when I shut my car off I sometimes hear a buzz sound near the center console and my trip odometer resets to zero, and my LED clock resets to 12 Midnight. Sometimes it happens when you open the door after turning the car off. In the Mini's there is a feature that the windows automatically lower a 1/4 inch when you open the doors, allowing air to escape when you shut the door after exiting. When this happens, sometimes that triggers the "buzz" sound and the reset thing happens. This doesn't seem to effect anything else, its just bothersome because I keep track of my miles with the trip odemeter, and I have to keep correcting the clock. Oh Yeah! one more thing that happens, when i am using the Air Conditioner and slow down after full speed, there is what I would describe as a power surge. All the dash lights go off for a split second then come back on.

View 5 RepliesI changed the oil in my 2012 Prius about 4000 mile ago and reset the "Maintenance Required" light. Today the "Maintenance Required" light came back on. Is there anything else (other than oil change intervals) that turns on the "Maintenance Required" ?
View 8 RepliesHow to reset the trip gauge on the dash? I would like to reset it to figure out what kind of mileage I am getting. I am a new owner of a 2010 Prius III.
View 3 Repliesn the 2012 Prius how would you reset the low tire warning light once the tires are brought up to proper pressure?
View 8 RepliesI know about the need for resetting the power windows after a battery reset. I have one window, the rear passenger side door, that does not work from the master switch. It does work at the door itself, but the green LED is NOT illuminated, or blinking. When I try to roll the window down on the first press, there is no response, but the LED illuminates solid. At the second press, the window works. When I attempt the reset procedure on the window (press and hold the one touch down after the window closes, then repeat the procedure going up. However, when I do this, the instructions say that the light will be blinking, and you should hold it until it is solid. Mine is solid when I am holding the switch, then after about 10 seconds, the light goes out and does not illuminate again.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2010 Toyota Prius. The battery went dead, so I jumped it. The car started fine, but the Nav system is all black and says "Please insert Nav DVD". I do not have the original Nav DVD. How I can get around this? I've read some posts saying to disconnect the battery, but I'm not really sure how to do that. I feel like i've been through this before and the solution was simpler. In the past, I remember an option to 'skip nav dvd setup' or something like that. Unfortunately, I don't have that option.
View 11 RepliesI was curious how you can get rid of an annoying "check hybrid system" dash warning?
Let's just say I know for certain nothing is wrong. It's only cause I accidentally disconnected and reconnected a wire. Just need to reset is all.
I've read through my manual, but can't find anything on how to actually lock the odometer at zero when I don't need it. Trip A is set to my oil change mileage and I just want Trip B to be off or at zero. 2012 F150 XL SBRC, 5.0 V8 4x4, 3.55 gears....
View 8 RepliesI have a 1997 f150 4.6L 4x4 Standard Transmission and today I hopped in it to go to work, and the Speedo, Trip Odometer, and Odometer all are not working.
This is the first time it has happened to me, what could cause this or have a problem similar to this and know how to fix it?
Just took possession of new 2013 elantra with nav and leather for my wife.
Is there any way to convert odometer for km to miles,
same question for the inside/outside temp.
Outside gauges says 2C inside temp set at 71f.....
I have looked in the manual to no success...
I just found out from a dealer that my odometer (2004) does not go above 300,000 miles. I guess if I had been on Priuschat more regularly I would have discovered this long ago! Any answer from Toyota as to why this is so, or what (if anything) they are going to do about it? I'd think it would be fairly bad publicity for them to have it publicized that they don't expect the Prius to last more than 300,000 miles...
View 6 RepliesI believe that the odometer MPG applies to "when the hybrid engine is started." I turn the car on, and the odometer MPG is at 0.0
I flip to "Trip A", and reset it. Now the Trip A MPG is 0.
Just for grins I used a GPS mileage logger app on my phone to compare to the mileage logged on the car. The app was launched well before taking off and so there was a good satellite fix.
Trip summary on the car logged 15.9 miles, and the GPS logged 15.52 miles. Tires are stock 17" Toyo Proxes down to 4/32nds. What do you think of this discrepancy?
