My car is having a problem of passenger side light (low beam) being always on even after turning the switch or engine off. I have to unplug it to prevent it from draining the battery.
I am not too familiar with electrical system on the Prius, but suspect bad relay or something related. Where the relay for the headlight is?
My passenger side headlight(low beam) isn't turning on. Replaced the bulb. The light flickers and dies out.
View 1 RepliesHaving issue with power windows in 2010 Prius. I just noticed today that I can't roll down the rear passenger side window from the driver door switch but all the other windows work, and the rear passenger window works as I can roll down from the door itself.
View 2 RepliesMy 2006 Prius (Model NHW20) has a strange headlight problem. On the passenger side, the high beam light is out but the regular headlight works.
On the driver side, the high beam is working but the regular headlight is out.
I don't think it's the fuses but I'm not sure. No amount of interchanging the following fuses changes anything about the issue:
1. 10A H-LP HI RH
2. 10A H-LP HI LH
3. 15A H-LP LO RH
4. 15A H-LP LO LH
This morning a dash light informed me a headlight bulb was out. It was my DTR light on the passenger side.
I purchased Sylvania H7 high intensity, installed it and it failed to work properly. Daytime light on only drivers side works.
High Beam on , both lights works.
I checked my manual and it said to check fuse in the 5 slot on the driver side dash/door panel and there actually is no fuse in there. I checked the driver side and there was no fuse there either.
I replaced my driver side bulb last year and it took 5 mins....i am already 4 hours into this!
I have a 2005 prius. The low beam bulb on the passenger side had a flash the other day and wouldn't be turned on any more. I changed bulb, fuse. It still doesn't work. The high beam on this side and the low and high beam on the other side are fine. I noticed the socket to this bulb is kind of fried. I check the voltage. It shows zero.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 Toyota Camry SE 4 cylinder. When I turn on the headlight sometimes the light from the shifter doesn't light up. I have to tap it a few times for the light to come on. This happens to the passenger side low beam as well. When I turn on the light sometimes the passenger side low beam doesn't light up I have to go out and tap the headlight a few times for it to work. What can be the cause?
View 2 RepliesI have an 07 Passat Wagon. The headlight malfunction indicator light came on for my passenger side low beam. I replaced the bulb, which was visibly burn out (broken filament), but with a new bulb in, the light still is not working and the malfunction indicator is still on. What is the cause of this? I have the regular headlamps, not the xenon lights.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Prius that I purchased with no upgrade on the headlights. There was an upgrade available for high intensity lights, but, I didn't get them. The low beam on the passenger side headlight just stopped working. Two questions:
1. I was just told by the Toyota dealership that to replace the headlight, the entire front end of the car would need to be dropped. They just told me that with them supplying the bulbs, the cost would be about $250 plus tax. If I supply the bulbs, only about $200 plus tax. My owners manual indicates that this is a do-it-yourself project. Is this true or is the dealership trying to make money off of me?
2. When I do replace the lights, I would like to put in something that would put out more light than what I have now. I have been told to be careful because many replacement lights throw off so much heat that the housing around the bulb could melt. Also, I have read that some of these replacement bulbs have a very short working lifetime of 1-2 years. Obviously, I would want to keep away from them.
So the wife and I went and visited a friend Saturday-Sunday in Atlanta and we had our University of Alabama car flags on the Prius all weekend. Well apparently the flags angered a local and someone busted out the Prius' passenger side tail light.
My question is this: Would one of the tail light assemblies that is sold on Ebay Motors/Amazon be an exact OEM fit? I would like to avoid purchasing directly from Toyota...
My Prius is a 2012 Two model. The headlight is my low beam on the left side. Is this something I can so myself?

View 13 RepliesI have a 2004 rx330 and the passenger side window will not roll down from the main cluster on the driver's side. It will, however, roll down from that door.
I've searched and read the tips on here to reprogram that window, but it doesn't seem to work for me and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I'm a pretty mechanically inclined person and have worked on many cars in my 20+ years of screwing around on cars, so I know it's quite possible I'm doing something wrong.
I've rolled the window all the way down from the switch on the passenger side door (the only way it will roll down) and I've held the switch down for 5 seconds, rolled up and held the switch up for 5 seconds.
I've even tired rolling the window halfway down, holding the switch for 5 seconds, then back up and held the switch up for 5 seconds. If I try to roll the window down from the main driver's side cluster, the switch green light blinks on the switch on the passenger side.
We just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.
View 1 RepliesMy 08 passenger side HID is intermittingly on and off and at times grows dim but stays on. Researching, I think it s either the HID bulb or the ballast. How do I tell which one? I have already had the driver side HID replaced last year-$$$$-so I am thinking of doing the work myself. The bulb is within my abilities but if it s the ballast I m a little hesitant.

View 5 RepliesWe just bought our first Prius about six weeks ago. We purchased a used 2008 model with 83,000 miles. So far we have loved the vehicle. Tonight as we were driving home we noticed that the left headlight was out. I ran some quick tests and determined that the left high beam, low beam, and side marker light were all unresponsive. The left blinker is working fine. I checked the fuses for the left lamp (separate fuses for low and high beam) and all seem to be in good working order. Everything on the right side of the car is working fine.
View 9 RepliesA couple weeks ago I noticed the passenger side headlight would turn off almost immediately after I turned it on. After a couple hours of swearing at it/trying to twist it out, I finally pull the bulb and socket out of the metal retaining clips in one piece. I had to use a couple channel locks to get the bulb to twist out of the socket, and when I finally did I saw the socket and bulb were very toasty.
I cleaned up the socket, replaced both bulbs, and everything seems to be working fine so far, knock on wood. Any example of this kind of arcing between the bulb/socket? If this is a one-time thing, great, but I'm wondering if it's symptomatic or problems someplace else.
i have a 2005 prius got it 2 years ago when it hade 120,000 miles now has 211,000 runs good but last week on my driver side the tail light and low beam light stopped working at the same time the high beam works fine what could it be?

View 7 RepliesOkay, "check lights" idiot light came on today and I discovered my passenger side DRL/low beam is out. I assumed the bulb must be bad but when I started the car up again, the light came on briefly, then off, and then flickered, ending up off.
I'm now assuming that this is not a bulb issue, but a ballast or something my Ford truck doesn't have. Now what do I do to fix it?
