After I install a after market backup camera, following problem occurred. Current is always on for windows even I didn't press power button.

About 10% of the time when I depress the brake and press the Power button, all the dash lights come on except the Ready light (it acts as if I pressed the Power button twice without my foot on the brake). When I depress the brake a second time and press Power button again, the Ready light will still NOT come on. I have to press Power button with foot off the brake to shut off the dash lights (the car is effectively off) and then when I press Power button with foot on brake a second time, the Ready light will come on. I effectively have to try to start the car twice. I also noticed that the interior lights are dimmer when I open the driver's door until it goes through it's normal noisy gyration (something to do with the brakes?). I'm thinking that the 12-volt battery is starting to fail. Does my Gen III 2010 Prius have a diagnostic tool to check the battery?
View 4 RepliesI have both a 2010 Prius and a new v and have just noticed that if you press the 'Econ' button once, the little light goes on in the dashboard. If you press it again, the little light goes off. The same occurs with the 'pwr' button.

View 2 RepliesI have a 1992 Aerostar. My power locks wont unlock when the red button is pressed. Locks fine though. The problem exists in both door controls. I replaced both controls and the problem remains. What else could it be that allows me to lock but not to unlock the doors?
View 13 Replies If the remote AC button is pressed in middle of winter does it turn on the heat and if yes, does it stay on long enough to actually get some heat going.
For example, if I press it while car is in the garage and it turns on (auto temp set to 70 when it's maybe only 25 in garage), if I go out in 5 or 10 minutes will it have actually heated things up a little? Hope so because that would be better than going into garage, starting it up and going back inside.
I took delivery of my new prius a few weeks ago and of course played around with the parking assist. However in the last few days when I press the button to start the process I simply get a double beep and nothing more happens.
I called the dealer and they don't seem to know what it is and so have booked me in to take a look at it.
I have a gen2 2007 prius (right hand drive). Problem I am having is [INTERMITTENT]when pressing the ignition button to turn off the car. When I press the button the system completely shuts down instantly and rather roughly and nothing is active (the Key is still in). I then remove the key and the system starts up! I then press the button to stop the system, put the key back in and restart it. It then works fine - until the next time. Clock resets itself as does the climate controls. Not sure what to make of this. I have just recently replaced the 12v battery in the boot.
PS. Forgot to mention that when the system goes dead, if I fold down back seat and thump the floor panel above the battery under the seat the system goes on?? Any clues. Will take it to mechanic as soon as he gets back from holiday!
All of a sudden, my 2008 prius, basic package without the smart entry system, stopped locking or opening the doors when i pressed the button.
At first i thought it must be a dead battery, so i replaced it with a new one and got the exact same behavior. i checked the old battery and it was still giving off 3 volts as was the new one when i checked that with a volt meter. when i press any of the buttons on the key, a small led light goes on and on the dashboard a picture of a key lights up briefly. the owner's manual does not show the key as a warning light.
Fan controls I, II, III, IV are not working. A/C not working when button is pressed. I checked the fuses on the driver's side with a test light, but none seem to be blown. What else i can check. but i notice that when the car is moving, i feel air from the vents as if the vent was selected. but as of blowing, no forced air coming out.
View 7 RepliesRecently I went out to start the car with the key I typically use, and when I pressed the Start button I got the message "Key Not In Range." The key will lock / unlock the car, but simply won't start it. I've been having to use my spare / second key in the meantime. I haven't had a single problem with the car since I bought it Sept 2012.
View 6 RepliesLast Saturday it worked because i left all 4 windows down while driving. On Sunday I drove in the rain, so all my windows were up. The next day on a clear day I put my windows down and noticed the left rear window won't go down but I can hear the normal 'shoosh' sound like the motor works but it won't slide down. I put my hand against the window to push down and it went down (because I had already push the button down so it allowed the window to be opened) When I pushed the button up to go up, it goes up.
To make sure my window can't be slided down with hand by carjackers, I first tried by using my hand to slide down, it won't go down. So it seems like the motor works. When I pressed the bottom to go up, it goes up but it won't go down when pressed down.
Car year is 1999....
The truck sat since 2002 or so. Hasn't ran since, So my brother and me towed it home and I started working on it. I replace the tailgate, Replaced the lights, Did a oil change, Dropped the gas tank out and ran a gallon of gas and seafoam through it. Then I was driving it the other day and I decided to play the radio so I pressed the power button and I heard a pop noise. Like not a fuse pop noise. This happens every time you turn it on/change the volume. Its coming from the speakers and the louder the volume the louder the popping is. Is the radio just bad? Its a funny square shape and I haven't ever seen a radio that would fit this. I checked all the fuses and I found nothing.
View 8 RepliesI cant start the sonata 2011 unless I keep the start button pressed for 10+ seconds. It just doesn't start anymore by just pressing the brake and hitting start button once. I figured before I replaced the brake light switch, is that's what causing this problem?
View 9 RepliesMy wife's 07 santa fe has started to develop an issue with the fuel door not always opening when the button is pressed. I haven't had to use the manual release yet but sometimes you have to hit the button 5-10 times before you hear the click and it opens. The vehicle just went off warranty (of course!) and since the nearest Hyundai dealer is 2 1/2 hours away it would be nice to work on it myself.

View 3 RepliesI was wondering from the community if they ever hear a "motor" sound or like a "leveling" sound coming from the steering/instrument cluster area after you press the keyless start button (not starting the car). To me I was thinking it's like the car is maybe moving the steering column kinda like how luxury cars move the steering away to allow people to get in and out. But I don't believe the steering wheel is powered since I adjust it using the levers. Just wondering what this sound is for, worried something isn't right with that.
View 6 RepliesI just picked up 2007 LS460. I used the remote to open the trunk, but can't use it to close the trunk. Can only close by pressing the button on the trunk to close. When i press close on the remote, it beeps, but does not do anything.
View 7 RepliesYesterday I was driving my truck and went to activate the cruise so I pressed the button to turn it on and hit set but nothing happened. The on light was lit but the cruise indicator didn't light up in the speedo. I got to where I was headed, shut the truck off and on my way home tried this again to have the the cruise work normally. Cruise acting up and not work on occasion? I've never had the cruise control act up before so is there something I can check out? Bad connection or something?
