It takes almost 10 seconds for the AC to come on in my PIP when I first start the car. Is this normal?
Sometimes, if the AC has just been running, it will come back on in just 2-3 seconds.
I have a 2010, the EV mode ( as you know) takes a certain amount of time before it kicks in, depending on the weather. I do a lot of very short(3 mi) trips.
View 10 RepliesI've looked in the mounds of user manuals as well as searching here but can't find the answer to this question: How do you keep the EV screen showing on the upper dash after turning on radar cruise control? Even if I switch back to any of the EV screens the dang radar ready or the active radar screen takes over no matter how many times I go back to the EV screens. I have already set the option in setup to not automatically return to the previous screen on the 7" HDD screen.
View 8 RepliesBrand new 2014 Prius Plug in. I am getting about 45 mpg on a 14-mile all-city trip and 46 mpg on a 30-mile mixed hwy/city trip. The mpg numbers are from the information display when the car were turned off.
Is that normal? I thought it's supposed to be about 50 mpg. Btw, ECO mode was enabled.
In my 2013 prius plug in, when i plug it into the wall socket i get a reading of 0.9 kw on the charging screen is that a normal amount of electricity ?
View 19 RepliesMy wife and I have 2013 PIP (His and Hers) and we compete for highest EV miles. Her car has had consistently recharged with 14- 15 estimated EV miles. This morning she called me and said as she left the garage she noticed that EV miles were 18.4. I thought wow wish mine did that. We just finished charging hers again and I went out to verify and I was blown away when I saw 20.9 EV miles. This can't be correct, what could be happening?
View 19 RepliesWhile driving home yesterday the navigation went crazy (2 month old 2012 PIP Std). While it was navigating me it started telling me to make a right while the arrow was pointing left. Then it started recalculating every 4-5 seconds. I turned navigation off and snapped a pick of it having me in the middle of a river.
View 4 RepliesThis applies to a 2001 F-350 with 73,000 miles on the engine. Engine oil level is good, batteries charged, HPOP reservoir is full and passes Cody test with flying colors. Fuel pump runs for 20 seconds at key on. Start takes about 6 seconds. If I shut the key off and restart immediately it starts in under 2 seconds but if I wait about 30 seconds it's a 6 second start. Here is an AE that I ran on it, it has me stumped. FWIW it seems to start quicker when AE is hooked up. ?? An odd whir type of noise comes out from somewhere under the hood when I first turn the key on and when I clear the codes with AE.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2002 Camry LE V6 (made in Japan) with 195,000 KM on it and noticed that the car would crank for several seconds before it catches and starts. I have replaced the air filter, changed the spark plugs at 190K, use premium fuel and this is still happening. I have not replaced the spark plug wires as I was told at the time that it was not necessary. I notice that this seems to happen when my car is in the garage at temps above 0 degrees Celsius. When my vehicle is parked outside in a cold winter day, it seems to start quicker.

I have to back out of my driveway at my house. After I back out, I stop, put the car in drive. If I let go of the brake the car starts to move but slow at first then it kicks in like it was halfway in drive and completing the "shift" (I realize CVTs don't 'shift' but I can't think of a better way to put it). It feels like it's taking a few seconds to go fully into Drive when first shifted into it.
The car has 53,500 miles on it and had the 50,000 miles transmission fluid change. Is this behavior normal?
It driving me crazy. Every 10th start of engine it cranks over and over before it fires up, no codes, changed plugs, wires, crank trigger, fuel filter, upper and lower intake gaskets, injectors, iacv. I have no clue. Runs great all time just starting issue every 10th or so start takes 10- 15 seconds to start

Lower radiator hose decided to disconnect itself.
Stopped and had car towed home.
Connected hose and filled coolant system.
Car is hesitant to start and takes a couple seconds of cranking.
Misfires in cylinder 3, and a few in cylinder 5, no other codes.
New OEM plugs, no change.
Swapped coil packs around, no change.
Idle is rough but at speed, everything is smooth.
A few seconds after the PiP is turned on and I start moving, it gives a little beep.
It's not the doors locking because that happens a few seconds later when I speed up.
Wifes Escape with the 3.0 has been progressively getting harder to start. It spins over just fine, but now takes between 3 to 8 seconds to actually fire. In the last six months the alternator, spark plugs, air filter have all been replaced. Engine runs perfectly, never stalls and seems fine in every other way. I've cleaned the throttle body and the IAC is working fine.
Did some troubleshooting and sure enough, we are getting no spark for a few seconds and the engine runs fine when it finally gets spark. Would this be the crank position sensor? Cam position sensor causing this? Not sure what is supposed to happen during the starting sequence in regards to what sensors are in being read by the PCM and then enabling spark.
A few days ago I noticed when I started the car that both the HV/EV and ECO mode lights were illuminated. What does that mean?
View 8 RepliesI have a vague memory that the PiP will start its petrol engine every XXX miles just for a maintenance warm up if it has not been used for that mileage. An engine start will reset that mileage back to zero and start recounting its EV miles until that limit is reached again. What is that limit?
View 19 RepliesAfter about a min once bluetooth connects it fails. In setup under bluetooth it says it's off and pushing it does nothing. My phone shows bluetooth on and still paired. If I was talking to someone call does not get dropped but I have to pick up my phone and turn off bluetooth so I can hear them on phone speaker.
View 5 RepliesOccasionally, right after I start the car, the HDD display screen will be dark for a minute or two, and then display the map. I can go to the other screens, like Audio or the setup screens, but the map and the backup camera screens are dark. The still-functional buttons are responsive as usual (no delays/hangs). When the map finally "wakes up", it behaves normally. I don't have to do anything other than wait for it to wake up. It does this about 10% of the time. I have tried to correlate this to something, but it seems totally random.
View 4 RepliesI just finished installing a new set of injectors, standpipes and the blue spring kit on our 2005 Excursion 6.0. The truck idles and runs much better but now it takes almost two seconds of cranking to start the engine. Cold and hot are the same and the length of time between shut down and start doesn't seem to matter either.
What to check? I am planning to check the ICP tonight when I get home. Could I have air trapped some where in the system? This is my first powerstroke so I don't know if this is a possibility.
When I start my truck it takes 30 seconds or so for the truck to start moving... especially when in reverse. If I give it some gas it doesn't take quite as long. I am not a transmission guy. I assume it has something to do with building pressure but I don't know what would be the cause. The fluid is full and looks good.
