Just my luck, bought a brand new 2015 plug in and realized after 1 day the driver's windows doesn't roll down on auto, and the passenger side roll down doesn't work at all. Car only had 6 miles on it when I drove off the lot.

View 8 RepliesMy wife came home today and asked me to take a look at something on her brand new 1 month old Prius V 5. I asked her was there something wrong with her car. Of course she told me no, everything is fine. She opens up the driver side front car door, (she has a Barcelona Red V with Bisque faux leather interior) and points out some small scratches on the plastic silver/gray plastic piece that surrounds the power window buttons. It looks like while she was driving she probably put her hand on that area with her wedding band and diamond most likely scratching the area. This is only a guess at what caused it. I can't believe something as placing your hand down would scratch it that easily. That area probably shouldn't be plastic or should of been protected a little better.

I have a 2006 Prius. For some reason I've noticed that the buttons on the steering wheel Do NOT glow and they do NOT work...
Horn doesn't work either! And the light on the driver side door (for windows/lock/unlock) are NOT lit up either...?? It's all black and dark @ night..
Is there a fuse/relay for these type of things? If so...where do I start looking?
I took off the Airbag from Steering wheel and removed steering wheel to double check everything...and everything looks good. No damage. Wires are all connected well etc.
What causes that glaze that collect inside my front window that I have to remove every couple days? Is there any way to prevent it. Early morning driving into direct sunlight I'm almost completely blinded.
View 8 Replies1. The front driver's side window does not seem to have auto or express up/down. (Works fine for both passenger side windows).
2. The rear driver's side window doesn't not go up or down at all when using the driver's door switch. The rear door switch operates the window just fine, so it's a switch issue, not a window issue. (Probably obvious from the symptoms but I am not talking about accidentally locking the 3 non driver windows & then being confused)
It gets really cold in the winter (-30 C is common). Now I'm wondering how does the A/C button on the remote work? Is it literally just for remote air conditioning or can it also be used in freezing temperatures to remotely start the car to warm it up?
Normally I don't warm up my car but when it's been sitting outside in -20C or colder I sometimes let it run a few minutes just to clear the windshield before I drive.
If the A/C button doesn't work the heat also in the freezing cold, will this kit for the regular Prius work?
I thought I would start a new thread on this issue. I recently had my car lose power and all warning lights on, I was able to coast to the shoulder and once safe I turned the car off, hoping that cycling the power would fix this odd problem. No such luck, the car was completely dead and unresponsive except for the door locks and the hazard lights.
So I hit the "SOS" safety connect button to get someone to come tow me. NO luck -- oops, I guess the car is *really* dead. I had my cell phone and the rest of the story is in another post.
Now here is my question: Is Safety Connect supposed to work when the car is off? It seems way less useful in case of an accident or malfunction if I can only call if I can turn the car on.

I notice when I go over expansion joints on the freeway with my window open I can hear a bit of a clank sound. I do not hear it with the windows closed.
Also it must be done at speed > 55mph.
I do have a trailer hitch but it seems quite tight.
Is this normal? Is it an issue I should bring up at the 5k service?
The buttons on my keys would randomly not work and then hours later or seconds later it would work again. Then later it won't work. I can't seem to find the pattern but so far it seems that it will randomly work and not work. I even tried changing the battery and that did nothing. I went to the dealership but once they started working on the car it key buttons worked and they couldn't get it to not work. I can start the car and manually lock and unlock the car. The buttons just won't work at times.
View 3 RepliesI am driving along on Interstate 26, smooth road, no weather going on, clear night, about 7:30 pm, and the rear window on the driver's side just exploded.
Oblong hole in window, rest like a spider web. All fell out as I drove home.
Nothing hit it, had not been raised or lowered for hours, there is NO reason that I know for it to have happened. Bought car in March, 2012. 12,000 miles on it. NO other damage to car, inside or out.
On the passenger door the proximity sensor stopped working. 2014 PP. When I touch the door with the FOB in my pocket it does not unlock. If i swipe my finger on the door handle with the fob in my pocket it does not lock.
View 19 RepliesDriver side power window buttons area is peeling like mad! I noticed its just a plate with plastic and some cheap peel off stuff that is attached to it. Is there a aluminum or wood trip kit to add to those areas. Passenger side is not so bad. My car is otherwise looking like the day i bought it one year ago. [IMG][/IMG]
View 1 RepliesI've got a 2007 Prius and the buttons on one of the smart keys no longer works. With the key in hand, I can touch the door handle and the door will unlock. I can also turn the car on without placing the SKS in the slot. However the lock/unlock/emergency buttons don't work. Everything works fine on my other SKS so I don't believe it's something with the car. I've also checked the KEY button below the steering wheel - it's out.
I've just changed the batteries on the broken SKS. Even going as far as pulling the battery out of the completely functional SKS and putting it into the broken SKS. Still, the three buttons don't work.
It seems as if the navigation system on my wives 07 Prius has failed. Basically, all of the buttons on the right side of the MFD don't work. Whenever we press the navigation button the screen goes dark green or has a striped vertical screen.

View 6 Replies I may have a problem with the lights behind the buttons surrounding the Multi Function Display on my 2013 Prius (ex. "SEEK", "TRACK", "AUDIO", "SETUP", "CAR", etc.). The other night I parked the car and turned the headlights off for about 5 minutes (I generally leave the lights on at all times when the car is running - day and night). I turned the lights back on and when I did I noticed that the lights behind the buttons surrounding the MFD were no longer functioning (so you really can't see the buttons in the dark now). My wife tells me that they've always been like that, but that just doesn't make any sense to me (I'm almost positive they were working before I turned the lights on and off). About 2 and 1/2 months ago I installed an is imple gateway so I could hook up a SiriusXM xv200, but I wouldn't think I would get a problem like this from doing that 2.5 months after the fact. A couple of questions:
1. Should these buttons light up (or is my wife correct that I'm crazy)?
2. Could the problem be the isimple gateway?
An interesting thing happened at the gym today. While getting my 15 ft extension out at the Gym I apparently hit my reboot switch. Coming back out I unplugged and started, only to find out I had no power. Right away I knew what had happened, so I crawled back there and hit the switch up again. To my surprise, I now had a 14 mile range as compared to the usual 10.8. Apparently the traction battery liked sitting in the warm sun today. To reboot or not, that is the dilemma. There are many naysayers to this procedure, but I say they really have not tried it.
View 19 RepliesAfter my 25k service it seems the timer scheduler when the square button is pressed/held flashes at 7am. When i press the H button the hour advances to 12am then closes. I want to start the charge at 12am and finish at 5AM. The timer windows closes when i move the finish hour to 12am and then my regular clock hour changes. It used to be when i pressed/held the timer button the start time would show at 12 am and after setting it would go to the finish hour.
