I have a 2011 Santa Fe, I closed my ashtray the other day and now it won't open!!! It has change in it and I expect a coin has jammed it. The door will push in a little just like it normally would to open it but it won't pop open.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Santa Fe Limited and am having a major problem. On 3 different occasions, the accelerator pedal has stuck open at full throttle. At first I dismissed the problem as a fluke or the floormat and pedal getting stuck together.
This week while on vacation with my family in Myrtle Beach, SC, I was pulling onto a 4 lane and had to "punch it" from a dead stop to get up to speed with the other vehicles. When I got up to the desired speed I let off of the accelerator pedal and to my dismay the vehicle kept going. I told my family to hold on and immediately hit the brake and safely pulled into the median while the vehicle was still surging. With my foot on the brake my wife put it in neutral and the engine sounded like it was going to blow up. I checked to see if the floormat and accelerator pedal was stuck together somehow and they were not touching. I do not know if it was me freeing up the pedal with my foot or if the vehicle some how on it's own finally reved back down to normal RPM's.
In essence my family and I were in a runaway vehicle and luckily the braking system was strong enough to safely stop us while at full throttle.
This was a scary experience for my wife and I and a horrifying experience for my children. It was the exact situation Toyota had a couple of years ago with the accelerator sticking on their Prius models.
Is the accelerator system a mechanical one with a throttle cable going to the throttle body or is everything computerized. I do not know if it is a mechanical or computer problem.
I have a 2001 Passat with a trunk that has been stuck shut for over a year. Three different repair men have tried to fix it but they can't get into the trunk since it is locked shut - they also cannot remove back seat to get into the trunk. One wanted to cut a hole into the car behind my license plate to get into it! I can hear the motor that usually releases the trunk but it doesn't open by the key or the switch.

The more i pushed it the more it went in. How do I open this without damaging the wood.
View 1 RepliesThe drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?

Live data readings from vehicle continuously indicates "open loop- driving" for the Fuel System Status (Fuel System 1) . During idle and on open high way driving as 120 km for 10 minutes. I use an ELM327 diagnostic device with ScanMaster-EL 2.2 software.
After establishing this initially I disconnected the battery to do a complete ECU reset. I do not get error codes.
O2 Sensor1 Bank1 constantly reported as 1.275 V and sensor 2 as 0.02 V. I believe however the constant readings are as as a result of being in open loop.
No error codes reported.
The software report OBD1 ability on the diagnostic link.
During driving I got the following readings:
Fuel System 1: open loop-driving
Fuel System 2: not supported.
Calculated load: 6.27 to 83.14, avg 40.6
Fuel trims: 0
RPM: 1008 to 3988, avg 2407
Speed (km/h): 0 to 122, avg 77.66.
Timing Advance #1 degrees: 7 to 44 degrees, avg 22.42
Intake Air Temp (degrees C). 19 to 24
Air Flow Rate - (g/s): 3.18 to 69.27, avg 25.46
The software reports that the O2 Sensor bank 2 is not supported. I am not certain whether I should trust the software. In South Africa cats are not mandatory, hence is it possible explanation.
2) Is it possible to send a command on OBD to force closed loop?
This really ticked me off big time today, whatever I do the gas cap won't open when I tried to at the gas station. Before I noticed that I would have to try this a couple of times before it will open, but today, it just won't open at all.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2007 ES350 and my trunk decided to stay shut today, right when I arrived at work with stuff in the trunk.... The keyfob doesn't work, the button on the trunk doesn't work and the button inside the car doesn't work.
There is no clicking sound, it doesn't seem to be moving the switch. I can open the trunk using a long stick and pulling the emergency lever. I have checked the valet and that is not the problem.
I have disconnected the battery multiple times. Apart from losing all my settings this did not work for trunk issue. I pulled the fusebox and don't see a "trunk release" fuse. I see a fuel OPN but no trunk..... My fuel door works fine. I am going to check every fuse after I get off work.
2011 Santa Fe with a problem with the fan. Believe it's the radiator fan. First time it happened, wife shut off car and fan was still on. Started it back up and shut it off a couple of times and it stayed off. That was over a year ago. Then today, same thing except she didn't notice it until she came back out to car and the battery was totally dead. Got a boost and as soon as they hooked up the leads from good battery the fan was on. I saw someone in a thread about a 2006 Sonata (?) doing this kind of thing.
View 20 RepliesRecently with sunny days, 25-30 degrees celsius, my late 06' CRDI Santa Fe starts to shut off while in the traffic jam. After engine restart car runs fine while idling but after i put in Drive (its a 5 speed AT) it shuts off again. After 2-3 restarts i may able to pull my car aside the road and let it cool. One other thing i have noticed is the temperature gauge. The needle is sitting slightly under middle mark and my torque app shows 114-115 degrees celsius ? It is pretty high dont you think ? Sometimes its over the middle bar and then my OBD torque app shows 120 degrees. I would exclude Crankshaft position sensor, because car restarts just fine, if it was CPS then it should not start for a while?
View 5 Replies2007 Santa Fe tailgate will not open. When I use the key fob it goes through the lock and lock motion. When I grab the handel and squeeze the tailfate does not open. I took inside pannel off and checked and nothing seems broken. Also, sprayed wd40 to lube.
View 1 RepliesI was headed down the highway in my 2007 Santa Fe last night. All of the sudden, I lost engine power. I pushed the gas peddle and nothing. We coasted down to a stop on the side of the road. I attempted to restart, all it did was turn over. I noticed the OIL light was on, so I got out and double checked my oil level. Right up to the full mark. Probably about a year ago, I had a check - engine light. I have a code that indicates that my gas level sender has failed, so my gas gauge does not work. I am sure you are saying.....he just ran out of gas. Well, not the case. I filled up the day before, and figured I had another 100 miles left on this tank.
Over 171000 miles on it and I have no intention of giving it up soon.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe and the rear hatch wont open. When I pull on the handle it doesn't seam to click or engage with anything. I'm in a remote area and would like to try and fix this myself.

View 2 Replies2012 Santa Fe SE and the battery went completely, utterly dead. Reason unknown but that's not the issue for now. The battery was purchased new.
Also, I had a Viper 4204 remote starter installed after I got the car, April 2014. I use the keyfob that came with the Viper to open the doors and start the car as needed.
Trying to get a jump start but as soon as I connect the cables the alarm goes off and the car won't start. Called the place where I had the remote start put in and he suggested two things. Use the original Hyundai keyfob and press the unlock button to stop the alarm. Or put the key in the ignition turned to the ON position BEFORE connecting the cable to the battery. Tried both, neither worked. Also tried just holding down the kill switch under the hood. But that didn't work either.
I have Santa fe 2009, I was in a 5 days trip, now I'm back home and it seems like that the car's light was on so the battery is goes dead, now I can not open the car's door neither by remote nor by the key! why I can not open the car door with key?
View 37 RepliesI've just got a new to me 2007 Santa Fe and it's full of electrical gremlins. Today's problem is the idiot light indicating the tailgate is open is always on and the light in the hatch and the alarm randomly come on as well... the neighbours are not impressed. I can't find any pin switch on the hatch and where the switch is located. Is it a magnetic sensor? perhaps on the lock mechanism?
There is so little technical info available for these vehicles. I've always had VWs and the tech support online is insane. Hope i can resolve these problems as it seems like a good vehicle.
I am driving a 2012 Sante Fe with a bit of a problem. A rear door does not open from inside nor outside. Is there a way to remove the panel to gain access with the door closed?
View 3 RepliesMy 2010 Santa Fe's transmission has been smooth since the TCM update except there's always a clicking sound when the speed first reaches 30 km/h. The sound only happens once during each trip. It seems like it only happens when the fluid is cold. Once it's warmed up, it's fine.
Yesterday all of sudden I feel something is dragging my car. I noticed RPM is over 2000 when the speed is only about 60 km/h. (not mile). And the ECHO light is not ON. So I shift to '+/-' mode and the display shows 4. I guess it means it's in 4th gear. I shift up to 5th gear and RPM drops right away. ECHO light comes back ON. So is this a symptom of 2010 Santa Fe transmission?
I also feel my brake pedal is very stiff when this happens. And the brake pedal has not much travel distance. If the brakes are dragging car down, can this cause the transmission stuck at low gear?
The passenger side 3rd row seat is stuck in the down position. The driver side lifted and locked in place just fine, but when I pull the release lever on the passenger side the outer part releases but center portion won't budge at all.
I've tried everything I can, which isn't much other than pulling and grunting at the same time (usually works for me )Critical because I need to set the 3rd row up in order to reach the bolt holding the 2nd row seat so they can be removed so I can access the fuel covers in order to replace the faulty fuel sensors so my gas gauge will work.
