2007 2.7 GLS ... I like many have encountered the P0441 code and my Santa Fe stalls after fueling and requires constant revving for a bit to stay going. Previous threads seem to point to the Purge Control Valve.

Since then the fuel gauge has been moving around inconsistently. Took it in to mechanic, he said he replaced a leaking hose. Next day, fuel gauge is still a moving target.

From reading on this site, thinking its a faulty purge valve.
I have found pics of its location on an 04, but cant seem to find it on my 08 2.7L.
Have 2 problems that are giving me major problems.....especially with 100 degree heat in Dallas.
1. Ac stopped blowing cold last night out of blue. Still blows just not cold. Replaced bad fuse and drove for 5 minutes. Blew again. Checked out the control/ circuit board but looks ok. Really cant afford dealer.
2. Check engine light problem for months. Gas gauge wasn't working. Replaced fuel sending units and it fixed that but still light. Code says p441. Dealer said need solenoid valve. Replaced both the solenoid valve and the purge control valve. Still check engine light.
Just received a P0441 CEL (Evap Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow). I have a 2.7l engine, 2WD. I've read other forums and it seems it's most likely the purge valve or charcoal canister.
View 7 RepliesI've had the check engine light come on and was told it was probably from topping up too much and that it would go off on it's own... I should say I have no issues with idle or rough starts.
I had it scanned at Auto Zone. The print out shows: "EVAP emission system incorrect purge flow probable cause
1) Faulty purge control solenoid
2) Faulty vent solenoid
3) Blocked vapor canister
Previous posts suggest if it were a blocked vapor canister I'd have trouble completely filling the tank so I am hoping it's one of the others. Almost everything I see suggests the purge control and that looks like an easy fix. My concerns are a) if it is the vent solenoid - how hard is that to get at and b) what is the part number as I can't find it listed anywhere? I want to have both on hand before I start trying to fix this. Lastly if it is the vent solenoid should I just give up and see a dealer??
We just brought a 2000 S70 Volvo 5 cyl. sadan. There is a problem when we start it up. Initially it starts up fine, but when you put it into drive, the rpms do not stay constant enough to keep the engine from stalling out. When you restart it, the problem repeats and repeats about five or six times, until the problem corrects itself. If in an effort to increase the rmps by applying the gas pedal, the problem may cease, but not always. Once the rpms remain constant, there are no longer any problems with the engine.
This problem is not a constant. It mostly happens when the engine is cold, but it can also happen when the car has been running and then turned off. When you turn on the warmed up engine, the problem happens again. Because we anticipate the repairs on a Volvo are likely to be expensive, we would like to have an idea of what could cause this problem and an anticipated cost.
When I fuel up I hear a loud thump in the back of my vehicle, I then hear the gas pump nozzle click off after about another half gallon is pumped in. Without understanding the design of a tank or the gauge float etc. I am guessing that something is getting stuck and releasing under pressure once the tank fills up. Of course this has me more than somewhat concerned from a safety perspective. Note that this vehicle was brought in under warranty for the fuel sensor issue and the part was replaced, would this be related to that? Will the repair still be cover as a part of that work even though my vehicle is now out of warranty?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 SE with 3.3L and Auto transmission. 70k miles, regular service performed.
Starting a few months back, I've noticed a low volume hum/whine coming from the engine compartment. I notice it more when I'm in drive, but also notice it to a lesser degree when in park and revving. In drive, the sound gets just a bit louder and higher pitch, until shifts, then lowers at low RPM, growing again as revs move up.
since it happens in park, I'm thinking it is engine related, not transmission? (I usually change oil around 4k, sometimes as high as 5k)...
Our FWD Santa Fe Limited had a very noticeable vibration that started around 60mph. Oddly, the vibration will sometimes come and go while cruising at a constant speed on the highway. We went about 30k miles before we had time to get it into the shop.
I asked them to rotate and balance the tires and the vibration was noticeably reduced...initially. Now it's back!
The car has ~65k miles. All 4 Kumho tires match and I believe are original from the factory. I have kept all tires inflated properly.
Our car has the optional 18" wheels. Is it common for these to bend? What else could be the cause here?
I bought my 2011 Santa Fe about 6 weeks ago and only have just over 1000km on the odometer. I have an appointment next week to have the dealer look at my car because I hear a lot of noises. First, I hear a constant squeaking sound in the driver's side window/door frame. I think I have this figured out - it's the weather stripping/seal on the door - perhaps the door isn't fitting tightly. I'm not too worried about that sound. I'm also hearing a rattling sound in the rear end, usually when I go over bumps. It sounds like something underneath the car is loose and is banging every time I hit a bump. It's not a loud rattling noise, but enough to be noticed for sure. Also, I've heard a rattling noise on the front passenger's side door somewhere but I can't seem to pinpoint where exactly. Again, it's like something is loose and rattles when I hit a bump. Should I be concerned? I'm a bit nervous because the last car I bought turned out to be a complete lemon and I bought the Santa Fe to rid myself of worry - I haven't been successful with that so far. I have gone through the interior to make sure nothing's loose and rolling around and making the noises, I've repositioned all the seat belt tensioners etc - nothing makes these noises go away.
View 24 RepliesSo we've had this issue randomly of course so I don't know that bringing it in will do us any good. The anti slip light will stay on while driving (after starup), or come on at some point. This has only been an issue once when it came on pulling into our driveway and I could not park the car or go in reverse. I had to shut the car off in neutral and restart it.
2010 2.4L AWD
Something I haven't seen yet. 2007 2.9l is hard to start and stalls after filling up with gas. After it runs a minute, no problems. Is it something with the gas cap maybe????? The catalytic converts have been changed, maybe something with the O2 sensors???
View 20 RepliesI've got an issue with my 2007 Santa Fe.... At the first drive of the day, the truck stalls as accelerating. Happens like clockwork and sometimes the stall is so hard that the truck stalls. I've noticed a few things... It happens when there is medium to hard acceleration from stop (1st gear) until when it shifts to 2nd. I noticed the battery and seatbelt light flash during the stall (prob cause truck just died) and then it regains power. If I put the car in manual, it rides 1st gear no problem. If I accelerate very slowly, it shifts normally and continues to drive. This only happens from 1st to 2nd gear. I've replaced the TPS, plugs, cleaned the TB and intake tube.
I have not yet took it to the dealer for the PCM update for the new TPS. What should I try next??? Crank sensor? MAF sensor? Replace throttle body? I also wondered if maybe it was an electrical issue. I've noticed when I drive into a tunnel and the auto lights come on my lights dim and the seatbelt light (no chime) begins to flash. I replaced the alternator about a 9 months ago due to failure. Or is this maybe a tranny issue? This only happens the first drive of the day. As the keep driving and come to a complete stop and continue, it does not stall from 1st to 2nd.
I pulled codes a few months back and it had about 4 codes related to the TPS. I replaced both fuel tank level sensors yesterday and my CEL is gone (truck still stalls).
My '05 Sante Fe 2.7 doesn't want to start after fueling up. I have to hold the accelerator pedal down, like we used to on the old rods when we flooded the engine, to get it to start. I replaced the gas cap thinking that was the issue, but didn't fix it. I get no check engine light and with 340k miles, it sent out several codes a while back at the dealer. Could it be the fuel filter or pump?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2009 Santa fe 3.3L V6 (live Montreal, Canada), since the past week when I start it up, I've noticed that after 1 minute or so while the it is idling my rpm's drop from 1000 to about 650 for split second and it seems to want to stall. The same thing happens when driving for a a small distance when ever I have to make a stop my Santa fe rpm's drop (split second) so low it seems to want to stall. Could it be related to Throttle Sensor Position?
View 2 RepliesI went to fill up my Santa Fe's tank for the first time and was only able to get about 9 gallons in. The pump shut off when the car only had about 2/3 of the tank full. I let it be, but I really don't want to be dealing with this every week. Have issues put gas in? Any tricks/tips? I do live in California which requires a lot of equipment on the pumps to prevent gas fumes from escaping. I'm not sure if that's contributing to the premature shut-off.
View 12 RepliesMy 2.0t threw a MIL with code P0441 about 24 hours after having the timing and all replaced. I replaced the N80 valve last week, but this did not make the light turn off.
I also have a hard time starting after filling up. What this might be?
The check engine lamp on my '04 4cyl came on Saturday. I checked the code. It's P0441, which is supposed to be 'Evaporative emission control system incorrect purge.' I found a page on the web that said this might have to do with the gas cap. When I checked the cap it had not been tightened.
I've been driving it for 3 days and the check engine lamp is still on. How long should I expect it to take for it to extinguish? It seems unlikely to the point of incredible the gas cap was left loose (which I've never seen before) and another failure in this very system could have happened simultaneously. Particularly since this is the first time the check engine lamp has come on in 9 years and over 100,000 miles
I have a 06 treg V6 and the code is p0441 I have replaced the evap canister as recondmended on club treg and the code came back.
