What are the symptoms of a bad CPS. This thing is driving me crazy. Iv'e changed the accelerator, Throttle body, plugs. It runs really sluggish when in gear, sputters.

Runs great. I am going to change the timing belt here in the next week or so.
I have started having an issue where going into second gear it will jerk, almost like sputter. Does not do it all the time. Seems like a sensor or computer issue because the rest of the gears shift smooth. And if was a problem with the internals of the transmission I would think it would always do it and never go away.
What the issue could be since I am already going to be digging deep into the vehicle might be worth replacing more parts, what it is.
Model is 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L
A month ago I started noticing it was sluggish to shift from P to R/D but i had no issues starting in P mode and the car would drive fine. I thought it might due to cold weather so didn't think of it too much.
Two weeks ago it was really hard to shift the gear from P mode and I nearly got stuck in middle of the road unable to shift from R to D. I applied a lot of force on the shifter and it finally budged into D and car drove with no issues. I parked and did my chores came back and the car would not start at all.I put the car in N and it started and was hard to shift back in D but I drove home without any other issues.
It died again in my drive way but this time the gear was nearly impossible to shift and I thought I almost broke it and the panel was not registering it was in P and the key was stuck in the ignition. After messing around for some time I was able to get it into N and put my hand brake on left the key in the ignition and disconnected the battery.
Today I opened the center console & battery tray these are my findings. The inhibitor switch was slightly misaligned from the N position.
1. The shifter moves freely once the linkage is disconnected by removing the tiny pin.
2. The inhibitor switch was slightly misaligned from the N position. Once I manually adjusted it I was able to start the car.
3. I reconnected the linkage pin, make sure the inhibitor switch was in N position and started the car but it was again nearly impossible to switch to P/R/D
4. My brake lights work fine.
5. I was able to remove the key once I completely disconnected the battery.
What can be the issue here ? Inhibitor switch ? The shifter assembly ? Linkage?
Experienced sluggish acceleration with their "09" Santa Fe. I have the 2.7 liter 6 cyl. engine and it seems so sluggish when accelerating. I have replaced all the plugs with some best rated ones specific to my model. I have tried one of the best rated fuel system cleaners. It still seems to have no pep, my daughter's 1999 Honda has far more get up and go.
View 7 RepliesI have an 08 460 LS. I am experiencing sluggish acceleration. It feels like the car is in the wrong gear and has no power. This is intermittent and most of the time ok. Occasionally it is jerky when pulling out when it has proper power.
View 6 RepliesI have a huge problem!!! While I'm driving every week my 07 Santa Fe just "kicks out". First my touch screen system cuts off then the car will stop running. This morning every time I hit the brakes my check engine light would pop on then my touch screen and lights would "restart". As I was pulling into my neighborhood it completely cut out of me. Nothing worked, not even the power door locks. And I couldn't put it in park. This has never happened. Usually it just kicks out, restarts and then I can go. This has got to stop!!
In the past when this has happened I was able to pop the hood and wiggle the wire on the battery. Then my lights and everything turn back on and I can continue to go where I was going. Battery and connectors were replaced in June 2012
What is the color wire for the running lights? Preferably inside and not at the headlight.
View 1 RepliesSanta fe limited V6 will not go above 2nd gear. It will fall into failsafe mode. The motor will just rev up and not accelerate past 20-30mph. Have already done transmission flush and changed Input and Output speed sensors however the problem still exists. Where to go next before I send it off to repair shop. I don't remember the codes but it was described to me as no output from 4th gear .

Stopped at home for a few hours and went back out to run a few more errands and my truck started running poorly, dashboard lights were dimming, and the ESC OFF & ABS dummy lights came on as well as the red battery light. Managed to turn around and make it back home. Sounds like my battery needs replacing? Hopefully its just the battery and not the alternator.
View 22 RepliesI have an 07 with the 3.3L and on start up the engine runs really rough and while driving when warm it keeps losing power with a regular rhythm. It almost feels like and injector or ign coil is dropping out. I have no CEL and have recently changed the spark plugs and rear upper O2 sensor.

I am experiencing a rattle when the car is out of gear. First heard it this morning. When I am in Neutral and I rev the car, as the revs drop back down to idle (700-800 rpm) i get a rattle from about 1000 rpm downover. Seems to disappear when at 800 rpm but not all the time. If I depress the clutch when sound is evident then it disappears.
I have a 2009 SantaFe Diesel and am having a few issues.
Firstly, of late it has been running rough when I back off the accelerator but hold the current speed. Almost like a mis-firing feeling. AT about 1500 RPM
Secondly, I was driving down the freeway recently, the car started to labour going up a long hill, so I tried to kick it back a gear using the accelerator but it wouldn't do it. It stayed in top gear and struggled. I had to manually do it with the gearshift.
About 12 months ago, I was having problems with the car completely losing power on a quick takeoff from standing still (say at a roundabout) but that seemed to fix itself.
I drive a 2007 Ford Focus and when the fuel level gets to half a tank the car tries to die, and quite often does, when making a left turn. About 1% of the time it will do it when making a right hand turn. It will also sputter and die when running it on idle for a few min. It first started doign this at 1/4 tank but has gotten to where it will do it at 1/2 now.
View 8 RepliesMy 2010 Santa Fe's transmission has been smooth since the TCM update except there's always a clicking sound when the speed first reaches 30 km/h. The sound only happens once during each trip. It seems like it only happens when the fluid is cold. Once it's warmed up, it's fine.
Yesterday all of sudden I feel something is dragging my car. I noticed RPM is over 2000 when the speed is only about 60 km/h. (not mile). And the ECHO light is not ON. So I shift to '+/-' mode and the display shows 4. I guess it means it's in 4th gear. I shift up to 5th gear and RPM drops right away. ECHO light comes back ON. So is this a symptom of 2010 Santa Fe transmission?
I also feel my brake pedal is very stiff when this happens. And the brake pedal has not much travel distance. If the brakes are dragging car down, can this cause the transmission stuck at low gear?
Finding a solution to my problem with Santa Fe, the gear gets stuck up on the 3rd gear. I have changed all the solenoid and it is still the same.

View 4 RepliesBought ours in Dec 2011 with about 36k miles from a Hyundai dealer. I like the select feature on the transmission. Any software change that would display the gear while in "D" mode. The suv seems a little top-heavy for aggressive driving so I don't. The wife likes the ride height. We pull a trailer periodically so we chose the v6 but only getting about 22.5 mpg daily maybe 26 on the interstate doing below 70. Happy with acceleration. Would be interested in possibly going diesel.

View 4 RepliesWhen cranking, i have to give it gas and rev it til it smooths out. Eventually it will run smoothly. When i throw it in gear, it wants to sputter and die out. If I put in D, i have to give it gas or it dies, but I can only barely touch the gas or it dies out. There is a vacuum leak in brake booster, but ive been told the headgasket could be blown.I want to know if the head gasket could be a problem and if its worth replacing the booster.
View 2 RepliesWhine that I am getting coming up from below the gear stick ,is certainly seems that it is a noisy bearing as noise stops when car does so I think it may be the bearing mounted in the rear of the casing/gearbox just in front of the rubber coupling but the dealer cant seem to find it in his parts list.

It starts as usual in the N mode instead.
Looking for recognize the error, what could it be? A sensor, fuse, or what?
